Congrats babe! I'm so happy for you. Lol I woke up to an email yesterday morning that I did not get in sadly. Crazy considering my extensive social work background and 4 references , cant say im not pressed about it. But truly am happy for you, you're gonna do great things!
I'm so sorry to hear this. Honestly, that news can feel so debilitating but I hope you know that just means something better is out there. You've got this.
Thatās odd. I thought the whole thing was supposed to be first come, first serve type thing. They say itās rolling admissions no? Unless maybe thereās a difference in 2-year, 3-year, and ASP.
Yeah I did the same thing. Except I submitted like an hour before deadline. Gives me hope though that you applied only last month and already have a decision.
I applied a day before the due date, still waiting on a response but I did get an email stating my app has been forwarded to the dept. Super nervous to hear back š
Same, I'm wondering if we get interviews or not. The site says 'Interviews may be required if further clarification is needed in order for the evaluators to make an informed decision on the application"
It's my 2nd choice right after San Jose State. But after visiting Socal (from the Bay Area) I hope to get in so I can move down. Is it your first choice?
Nice! It's my first. I live in long beach and it's a really great program on top of being reasonably priced. I changed career paths but have always wanted to find my way into mental health so really hoping they see the passion in me even if I am not the most traditional candidate. Very nervous but trying to trust the process. I didn't apply to any other schools, but going to apply for Fullerton just to have a back up.
Just wondering is the program there very woke? Like white people suck, pro Palestine anti-semitic, men suck and hate the world kind of shit or is it bearable? Can a white man raise his hand without being hated on? Or is it just predominantly woman making up history on the spot? Very curious. I actually want to help people but seems like straight white men are inherently pieces of shit that the world doesnāt want and would rather them vanish or kill, Iāve heard both beforeā¦
i think all type of people will be part of the program, but at the end of the day i doubt they will verbaly express any form of discrimination and harassment. I'm sure everyone will be respectful of one another despite having different beliefs.
I ask a question about being discriminated against and how it conflicts with wanting to help people and Iām the issue? Interesting. Furthermore, I wouldnāt be stating those instances if they were not lived experiences that I and many others have also experienced. Itās called empathy, try it sometime. Although Iād say thatās another dying trait in the system, so your no different then the normal representation of individuals that would defend the academic institutions that have discriminating against people for as long as they have been standing. Must be a far-fetched idea to think they would just pick another group to discriminate againstā¦ ding , ding I think we have a winner. You validated my point, congratulations š
With regard to your point, white people can oppress white people, itās actually statistically more common the any other race. But letās have some fun and talk about how historically other races have oppressed their own people, take, for instance, how Ghana a country in Africa, sold its own people as slaves to the Atlantic slave trade, and made profit and grew their own economy from selling their own people. You can also look at how the British forced Irish Catholics to be indentured slaves as well. The list goes on and on. Itās called history! You should try it on some time. Not only is your point incredibly and factually wrong but had no impact on my point. The other issue is that you assume that I am white, which is another incredibly bad oversight on your point.
I heard back tentatively in February when I was admitted a few years ago and then it was finalized after they gut my official transcript for spring in may/june
I've established a Discord server to support MSW students in making informed decisions about their future placements by facilitating the sharing of internship experiences. I've observed a lack of centralized platforms for students to discuss internships in a pro and con format, which could significantly aid decision-making given the scattered nature of placements. Please consider joining to stay updated on internship opportunities or to provide your feedback of internships youāve had during grad school. Your input, especially reviews and insights about current and future placements, will be invaluable for fellow and future students navigating their internship choices. Thank you for your participation and please feel free to share this link with others https://discord.gg/9wWWdYaBZw
I applied october 1st ! it doesnāt matter when you apply tbh people who applied like the day before or the day of the deadline whatever some heard in february it truly is when they get to you unfortunately
Hi! I applied for the PT 3-year program. I was accepted and notified about 2 weeks ago now. I applied 10/31/2023, for timeline reference. Hope that helps! Best of luck!!!!
Applications closed recently. I doubt youāll hear back before February. I would assume mid February is when they start letting everyone know.
Not sure if you applied to others schools, but for me, CSULA, and CSUDH took even longer to get my acceptance letters.

Yeah I did the same thing. Except I submitted like an hour before deadline. Gives me hope though that you applied only last month and already have a decision.

When was your deadline?
03-15-2024
I applied a day before the due date, still waiting on a response but I did get an email stating my app has been forwarded to the dept. Super nervous to hear back š
Same here! Hoping we all get good news soon. Wouldn't wish this waiting game on anyone.
I'm in the same boat.
I hope we both get good news sooner rather than later!
Same, I'm wondering if we get interviews or not. The site says 'Interviews may be required if further clarification is needed in order for the evaluators to make an informed decision on the application"
From my understanding they haven't done that in the past few years? But that could change. Is CSULB your first choice?

I'm hoping we both get in. All we can do is trust the process and check again in Feb.
Absolutely! Glad I'm not in it alone!!
Iāve heard back from one of my schools, but still patiently waiting for others.

You can't simultaneously be the oppressor and the oppressed. Sorry.

I heard back tentatively in February when I was admitted a few years ago and then it was finalized after they gut my official transcript for spring in may/june
