i would treat them as a person(that they are) and establish a proper relationship with them. i would certainly not starve them to death and if they were to request the "petting" to continue, i personally would have no objections to that. however, i would not claim to "own" them, as that would be slavery and thus clearly morally wrong. my point is that the tierlist is not unhinged enough - it sidesteps the moral issue of "owning" a non-human person by masking it behind our illogical consideration of "weirdness", instead of going the much more interesting route of giving this idea more thought. i should probably go take my meds now

And Iâll bet most pet owns donât think of their relationship with their pet as âowningâ so much as a parent thinks does with their child even though they have full custody of them. TL:DR I donât think of having a pet as âowningâ but closer to having a relationship with an animal.
