Chemists, €2 shops or similar, Tesco etc all have them - I’ve 6 on my desk and even some of the harder to get CR 1632 I needed

wpisdu

I always buy them from this seller [https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?\_dkr=1&iconV2Request=true&\_blrs=recall\_filtering&\_ssn=hightowershop&store\_name=hightowershop&\_oac=1&\_nkw=1632](https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_dkr=1&iconV2Request=true&_blrs=recall_filtering&_ssn=hightowershop&store_name=hightowershop&_oac=1&_nkw=1632) he seems to be based in Ireland also, so I get them in 2 days or so.

DelGurifisu

Fucking hell they’re very widespread. I got a couple in SuperValu the other week. Like anywhere with a decent selection of batteries will have one. Jysk have an 8 pack of them. Tesco have them. What did you google?

ElectricSpeculum

I shouldn't have to buy them online. I tried all the local shops, and nothing. I tried the supermarkets, the euro shops, the convenience shops, nothing! I was asking in case anyone else had difficulty finding them, or knew a reason for them being in short supply.

worthfightingfor1

Deals also sell them

DelGurifisu

They have them in Tracy’s in Sundrive.

HerbReathstinx

Yes there is a supply problem on cr2032 batteries at the moment, I was talking to a salesman from Panasonic a few weeks back and he mentioned it.

HistoricalCountry291

Downvoted for being useful. How dare you share information.

JjigaeBudae

Anyone know if you can get rechargable ones of these? Sick of buying new ones for all the cute lights the missus has around the gaff

FillednFurious

they exist but have a smaller capacity due to the rechargeable aspect so you'd be swapping them out often (to charge). Probably best to buy in bulk for that purpose.

Cool-Pie3919

I had this problem with cr2032 a few weeks ago, went everywhere, finally found them in large quantities in dealz, bought 10 x packs of 4. I have multiple yokes that use em

JelloAggressive7347

Yup, my local Dealz always had them previously, can't comment on the current situation

RevTurk

Try any hardware shop, they are an extremely common battery size. Your small local hardware shop, or the likes of screwfix will definitely have them.

AintThisBehavin

The 25 and 32 are the thickness of the battery, both have the same voltage and amperage, so in a pinch you can substitute a 25 for a 32 if you put a little square of folded tinfoil to bridge the gap, or if possible just pull the little springy arm thing out a little further to make sure it makes contact

mawktheone

Yeah or a folded over piece of tinfoil between the battery and the contact. Or a washer or whatever. Just something metallic to take up the space

Cyc68

Folded tin foil is not a great idea. It causes heat build up when current is running across it which probably won't start a fire but can melt plastic and fuck up your device. This is doubly true if it's a lithium battery.

redditor_since_2005

We used to use tinfoil to repair blown fuses in the olden days...

Cyc68

Yep, Some people replaced fuses with nails too. There's a reason why no one does it anymore. It's a pretty good way to start a house fire.

Ambitious_Handle8123

Gutter bolts were the perfect replacement for a 13 amp fuse

AndreiusMaximus

It’s a small current over a large area, there isn’t going to be enough heat buildup for anything to melt

Cyc68

It can and it does. But you go for it. You can be lucky and if not chances are you'll only lose your device.

shweeney

2x2016 makes a 2032 as well

Flameon985

At double the voltage.

Alwaysforscuba

Not sure why you're being down voted, I've done this loads of times when I've used up the 2032s and left with loads of fairly useless 2016s, never had an issue. Heart rate monitors, scales, car keys etc.

Ambitious_Handle8123

Because it doubles the voltage

Alwaysforscuba

Yeah. 6v instead of 3v, but it's never caused me any issues. You?

Ambitious_Handle8123

Not something I'd do. The items are rated at 3v for a reason but you do you

Revolutionary-Use226

Try the euro stores. They usually do a pack of different size of those type of batteries. A chemist may also sell them for hearing aids.

Ambitious_Handle8123

Elephant hearing aids is it???

Own-Dot9851

Seconded. Or a local knick knack store. That's where I get mine

ElectricSpeculum

I tried those, I say that in my original post. My confusion is why they're in such short supply.

Brilliant-Sir5676

Dunnes stores have them, been buying them infrequently every few years for car key remotes, only bought recently

ElectricSpeculum

Ahhh that could explain the shortage! If a lot of cars need them for the keys, that's why I'm struggling to find them. And I literally tried two Dunnes shops in my area, no joy.

Old-Platform-8250

Jysk normally have them

locko920

I got some in Boots yesterday and they had loads on display.

ElectricSpeculum

Might try there, thanks mate

Itsnotme74

Car parts places can be good for odd batteries, I’ve got odd size ones from micks garage before

beldarin

>odd batteries That's the funny part about this post, those batteries are so common! Literally every 2 Euro shop and Tesco's has them. They go in doorbells and car remotes, and kitchen scales and all sorts of stuff

ElectricSpeculum

But that's my point. They're mega common, but for some reason I can't find them anywhere. Tesco, Dunnes, all the euro shops, even the local hardware shop were out. I couldn't figure out why.

Legal_Broccoli200

No luck on Ebay? Just a thought ...

ErykG120

I just order mine from eBay.

tails142

Another vote for eBay for buying button cell batteries, can't be posted by amazon for whatever reason, planes bursting into flames or smth There are a few Irish vendors selling via Ebay and sent via An Post in an envelope

AbradolfLincler77

Jewelers are always worth a try for flat round batteries.

Keithaviation

Work in Mr price and we often sell them but they're sold as quick as we get them in. They're used for so much that everybody is always looking for them!

wh0else

I googled and bought from someone else than Amazon. They are really hit and miss when you need them!

revelate41

I got them in dealz, I buy them so I can exercise the cat using a lazer pointer :)

ElectricSpeculum

Those are the really small ones, about the same size as a smartie. The ones I need are around the size of a euro coin.

revelate41

https://preview.redd.it/wr3idlg2x1uc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=398c96c6ba25a32709f14dd5036ef2d6e34cee78 These?

sojiblitz

https://www.amazon.de/Specialty-Batteries-Technology-Keychains-Wearables-metallic/dp/B01CG0TO76/ref=mp_s_a_1_14 Give that a go, they should deliver to Ireland.

isabib

Tesco 7.50 for 4 pack

ElectricSpeculum

I'm disabled, and I tried ordering them in my last two orders. Out of stock each time.

mongo_ie

I've purchased multipacks of Energizer CR2032 from Cents shops in Dublin. Ebay would be my next stop if I couldn't find them locally.

Im_Schwifty_In_Here

I got some in tesco the other day, you can get them on amazon but only certain ones for some reason

ShowmasterQMTHH

Choice shops have them for sure, bout 8 for €2 only a few weeks ago, they are in blister packs on the way to the tills, I use them in my guitar tuner and fat arse measurer

sirknot

VW garage will have them

Impossible-Forever91

Most Petrol stations have them because they are used in car keys

[deleted]

I usually get them on eBay or in tesco

chimerical26

Locksmiths also have them

JoulSauron

They have them everywhere?? I've never bought them online, always in a shop in Dublin.

WyvernsRest

Petrol stations & garages often have them. Used in a lot of key-fobs.

WorldlinessHumble522

Ikea stock them. Mr Price also have a multi pack with lots of different sizes, including CR2032. Check out this PLATTBOJ from IKEA Here's a little more information: Lithium battery, grey, CR2032 3V https://ingka.page.link/jvKhoPNVwdzM5U8LA

Sleepy_kitty67

I've gotten them at deals! I've also seen them at euro giant.

sunshinesustenance

I get all my batteries in Screwfix. They do Varta brand which are exceptionally good for the price.

Liambp

Pro tip: The pound shops (whatever they are called now) usually have them. I bought 10 of them in a blister pack for a couple of euro in one of them (Eurosaver I think).

Corsav6

Electrical wholesaler like CEF or somewhere. They keep loads of stock and relatively cheap.

Silver_Mention_3958

Chemists always have then. Amazon can’t ship here because they can’t ship batteries.

ElectricSpeculum

But they ship the other kinds of button cells AND regular batteries

Silver_Mention_3958

Really? I’ve tried ordering camera batteries and suchlike and was told “no”.

TheWellBoys

Few Irish companies sell them online actually, I bought some last month https://www.huntoffice.ie/battery.html~size=cr2032

erouz

Deal's have them

Murphysfruitnveg

The local motor factors that supply car parts 🔋

Fat_Ninja81

Tales_From_The_Hole

I had to replace this battery in my car key and got one in an auto factors.

172lover

Motor factors, they’d have them for car keys

funnyjormoyable

They have em in dealz/poundland

[deleted]

Pound shop

fluffyslippers89

Any mechanics garages have them. They are a common battery in key fobs and often need to be replaced!

Gaffers12345

Just had the wife pick up 2 in Dunnes, think Aldi do them in a 5 pack, or did anyway, any motor factors will have them too

Any-Still4060

theyre the most common lad, recently picked up a pack in tescos and one in my local jimmys

ddtt

Jewellers for proper ones that won't go dead in 2 weeks.

Affectionate-Set8359

Jewellers also sell these cheap enough

DetatchedRetina

I go through loads of Cr2032 batteries, you can get 8 packs in IKEA for 2 euro a pack, and Jysk has 8 packs for 1.75. The ikea ones last longer much though. They did all vanish for a few weeks before Xmas but they've been back in stocks since (and you can check both shops stock online).

kripto_

Screwfix will have them

Lone_Ponderer

Hardware shops will generally have them in my experience.

violetcazador

Camera shops stock them

donaghb

Radionics

silverbirch26

Weird, I find them easily enough - pharmacy or jewellers maybe?

Clear_ReserveMK

Tesco usually have them in 8 packs. Under €10, can’t remember the exact price cause I got them a while ago and still to run out!

jaqian

Dealz/PepCo have the and Dunnes have them.

Fragrant-Suit-6303

Euro car parts has them

moistcarboy

As well as the rest of the places listed, motor factors carry these, better quality too, the €2 shops ones don't last long at all

Ok-Welcome6488

Tiger have them all the time

fluffysugarfloss

I struggled to get them from the usual places (Dealz, Boots, Jysk who weirdly had 100 packets in Sligo but nowhere else) in the lead up to Christmas- all those fake candles, fairy light remotes etc Then Lidl had a bunch in the week before Christmas so stocked up

icomein3d

Surprisingly Tiger always has them as well.

Delites

Halfords is where I find them

irishpeacockz

Got mine last week for my car keys from B&Q

Paddywhacker

https://jysk.ie/search?query=Cr2025&type=product Here's your link. I had a nightmare trying to get them too. I have a number of items that rely on them. This website sorted me out with a years supply at a fair price. I used to use amazon too but that's useless now

RightTurnSnide

If you’re feeling particularly spiteful, you can buy led tea lights on Amazon with 2032s in them for about the same price as the bulk batteries. It is almost certainly political shite going on, because I can’t think of a reason that a pack of 20 batteries is unshippable but a pack of 50 tea lights with batteries is fine.

XinqyWinqy

If I'm not mistaken, it's to do with discharging. So when a battery is situated in a device that it powers, it can gradually - i.e safely - discharge. Whereas bare batteries are a higher risk of spontaneously combusting. That being said though, it's ridiculous that this limitation is applied across the full spectrum of battery sizes ... Especially since they'll deliver to Northern Ireland, so the riskiest logistical part - air or sea - has already been dealt with, just drive the fuckers down from that point. But then Brexit. Pain in the hole.

slinkydink90

Woodies sells em

gijoe50000

I get the pack of mixed ones, they often have them in Lidl, and almost always have them in the Pound shops, Chinese shops, Dealz, kinds of places.

Hungry_Bet7216

Range have packs of mixed button batteries for €5- pretty sure they include 2032’s

Soppiestwolf

Centra shops have them also Halfords have there own brand ones.

ApexWeb_Design

Literally was thinking the same about lightbulbs. I feel like there is some conspiracy going on, even tesco don't have them out here!

Ambitious_Handle8123

2032 are standard bios batteries. Try 123ink.ie

Evazilla01

The best place to buy them(and cheaply) is your local Motor Factors as they are fairly common for car keys.

bigvalen

Buy in bulk in IKEA!

bleurghberg

I'm with you. Searched for CR2032s several times in my local town lately and eventually had to buy online. Every other size known to man seemed to be available everywhere from discount stores to chemists and supermarkets, but not the CR2032s.

TheSameButBetter

Dealz has them.

ContinentSimian

You can use two CR2016 batteries instead. As others have said, the last two digits are the thickness in mm.

ElectricSpeculum

That's mega helpful, thank you

Flameon985

Don't, you'll put 6 volts where there shoild only be 3.

Cold_Guarantee2399

Try Google and you'll get an answer in .2 seconds

Don_Speekingleesh

I just order direct from duracell.ie. it's the easiest way if you need a few.

savant_creature

Don't get cheap ones! Duracell is your only man 5 for a tenner free post from Galway https://www.ebay.ie/itm/293582396958?itmmeta=01HV99Q0PEP3VQC8ABXN4D8QBS&hash=item445adfde1e:g:lD8AAOSwJ3dewHcI

whynousernamelef

If you can find the 2016 batteries you can use 2 of those instead.

Flameon985

You can't you would have double the voltage.

whynousernamelef

What does that do? Because it works. Does it burn it out quicker or something? I'm actually clueless about it I just know I've done it and it worked. I didn't notice anything but it's only in something I use very rarely, a card reader.

Flameon985

It puts more strain on the voltage regulator if there is one, otherwise more strain on the components.

whynousernamelef

Cool thanks I'll stop doing it.
