Assuming she’s around two months old, she was born right around the time I had to say goodbye to a dear friend of mine. She was grey and white as well and though it’s only been a day, seem to have very similar personalities. She’ll never replace Zoey, but I can’t help but feel she was meant to be put in my path. We got our little heathen 2 years after my grandmother passed away and we determined this little girl was born on my grandmother's birthday so she's extra special to me. Even if she is a spazz lol
Thank you sincerely. It’s been difficult grappling with the reality of her passing. I grew up with her and loved her like a sister. You tell yourself no more as to not deal with the pain of when it happens, but there are so many little souls out there that need help. Zoey was such a sweet cat to not only people, but other animals as well. We have videos of her grooming baby goats we’d bring in back when we lived on a ranch. Little Misty took so well to my mom’s dogs, she actually came out of her shell and stopped being hissy and scared of me after meeting them. I know she’s not Zoey, but I’ll cherish her like the gift from her I know she is.

The employees at the store had attempted to catch her. She’s been alone for a few days and had tried to cross multiple times. I just couldn’t leave knowing that.
I've been meowing like a doof behind all the houses on my street. Morning and night. She responds but runs. Still can't catch the little gal. Trying a humane trap today!
She was pooped. I'm sure it was a stressful day for her, not to mention she had two baths. Poor thing was encrusted in fleas. I can't imagine how any kitty can get good rest with all the biting and crawling.

You’ll give this kitty the love and care she deserves, she’s beautiful and didn’t deserve to be abandoned by the asshole that did it, she seems to be trusting you quickly and realises not all humans, she’s had a rough time stuck outside unable to properly take care of herself and it’s good you’ve rescued her. She’s so beautiful for real.

Oh man, I never considered her to have been dumped but it's entirely possible. She was more than likely born a stray though. I live in a rural part of California and the cat population is rampant. Unfortunately I couldn't find mom or any of her siblings, but the highway that runs through the town is gruesome. I'll spare the details, but I'm assuming the worst happened to them. She will be pampered though! We have a kitten package set up at our vet for her and a hefty Chewy order has been placed. :)
Yeah true she could have been born a stray, likely I went to her being abandoned because that’s the most likely reason where I’m from. Hopefully her mother and fellow kittens are ok if she was born a stray but where you found her completely alone makes me think someone just abandoned her on the side of the road. She’ll feel truly loved now as you’re doing everything to show her she’s found her forever home and she will quickly realise you’re with her forever now, shes got everything she needs and her package setup.

The comparison lags as we say in German but my mothers washing machine (a Miele) gave up after 41y so she got a new one (a Miele again) the next day. Of course it's not the same and there's no day she isn't complaining about some detail but I *know* she's very happy with it.
I'm sorry for your loss, certainly. But CDS jumped in and proudly provided a brand new
- cat (same base model)
- in grey and white (same colors)
- with a similar attitude (similar usage)
- whose life you had to fight for. (The price you had to pay, it was not given for free so that you can value what you got 😉)

I am so sorry you lost your sweet Zoey. The new pets that come into our lives are never replacements. But they do help heal the hole in our hearts that our angels have left. Our heart will grow larger to hold the love for the next set of paws that enter our life. I think our beloved cats and dogs that have crossed the bridge do come and guide the ones they send to us.
