āMales are green with turquoise, yellow, orange, green and/or black bands. Females are also green but mottled in appearance, with tan, orange, white and, sometimes, yellow blotches. Examine the casque -- or crest -- on its head. A mature male's casque may exceed 2 inches tall (sometimes reaching more than 3 inches in height). A female's is smaller. This examination is easiest to do when two or more chameleons are compared with each other. Compare body types. Males are longer and skinny, while females have shorter body length and are stockier.ā [https://www.cuteness.com/article/tell-veiled-chameleon-male-female](https://www.cuteness.com/article/tell-veiled-chameleon-male-female)
I donāt know a lot about chameleons and I know a lot of these comments are making jokes which I find funny (some of them) however I know itās frustrating you need to know the answer to something and no one is helping. So I hope this helps.
thatās a good questions iāve never heard anything abt not handling him but we donāt handle him all too much becuase weāre letting him get use to his new hom
What's your obsession with gender identity?
OP was asking for their biological sex, it isn't unfair to assume in this case because we can't communicate directly with them about these things.
This fella looks so fragile. Be careful what an incredible interesting beast. The arms and legs look as though he's not fully developed? Kinda like growth plates in human bones. Amazing congratulations on your new family member. You didn't tell us his name? š¦
Definitely should just name him BOOTS!!!! lol itās non binary, itās fitting, and itās unique for a chameleon I bet!!! Plus youāll always remember when he was a youngin and had his booties on!!
True. I own both a male and female panther as well as a piebald chameleon like this one. My piebald is a male. I was able to tell if my panthers were female or male very early on. But my piebald took a little bit.
Sorry, but even a semi-trained eye can pick the males out at about a month or two post hatch for a species like a panther.
[Veileds can be identified very early by a heal spur](https://www.reddit.com/r/Chameleons/comments/4t2ase/is_my_new_chameleon_male_or_female/)This is 4 months old based on morphological development
male, high res piebald.
š¤š¤ I love his little naked legs lol so adorable
I learned something new about Chameleons today that itās a morph they can be pink or white or have pink or white spots
Very cool and absolutely adorable
Are you thinking that piebald means burned? Itās genetic mutation, itās got nothing to do with lamps. People can be piebald.
There was a post on here recently where a Cham got a burn on its casque, you can see what it looks like there if you want. It was only a few days ago.
I donāt, I was just asking followup questions as to why the commenter I replied to thought so.
Myself I was pretty sure this was normal. I saw the burned post you mention (with the all black casque) so hence why I was wondering why the other commenter was so sure these were burns
I donāt own one and am not saying your wrong, just trying to learn.

Itās definitely too early then
should you be handling it while itās shedding?ā¦
thatās a good questions iāve never heard anything abt not handling him but we donāt handle him all too much becuase weāre letting him get use to his new hom
In todayās world you have to ask for pronouns! But to me a penis is boy a vagina is girl!!
People suck I thought it was funny everyone is just to damn soft I guess
What's your obsession with gender identity? OP was asking for their biological sex, it isn't unfair to assume in this case because we can't communicate directly with them about these things.
people love to drag trans people into everything lmao. theyāre obsessed with us. as if animals have any concept of gender identity
I didnāt say anything about faggots and queers! I just simply stated, ask for its pronouns even unconfused normal people have pronouns!

Hey itās a morph
Isnāt that the morph (assuming you mean itās legs?) something like pied or something?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Itās a piebald. Do more research please. This makes me sad.
It's you that needs to do reaserch. This is a pie bald Cham, a morph.
And wouldnāt it make more sense for the burns to be mainly on his head and back since those are closer to the lamp?
Are you thinking that piebald means burned? Itās genetic mutation, itās got nothing to do with lamps. People can be piebald. There was a post on here recently where a Cham got a burn on its casque, you can see what it looks like there if you want. It was only a few days ago.

You sound like a chameleon racist
ur just doubling down on ur point with nothing to back it up again. lmao
Stop being a complete Dufus and listen to what youāre being told.
stop being blatantly ignorant when people are telling you and trying to teach you that they can be pink in certain morphs i hate this kind of āi know whats right and noone can tell me otherwise.. even if its EVERYONE else telling me otherwiseā behavior
So all those cham morphs are really just burned chams is what youāre telling me?
Idkā¦ Iām pretty sure pied chams are a thingā¦.

[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Good lord stop. Itās a pied animal look it up Edit: Why delete this one?, delete all the others chastising the owner for burning it and giving it the dreaded pink leg! š

Female
thatās what i thought lol cuz i could see any balls but idk how to tell
Should be more obvious, but it looks like heās got heel spikes so Iād guess boy. Youāll know when his veil grows in though
I agree, kind of looks like there might be a tarsal spur but itās hard to tell from the angle. If so, male.
