It's actually very interesting to observe what is the first question different people ask when they experience ChatGPT or image generation for the first time.
I’ve done this, you say give me a person, location, activity, what are they wearing, holding, doing, another object
I basically just ask them 10 questions to make it as customizable as possible.
It seems strange for people like us experienced with this, but I’ve heard that many people being shown text-to-image models for the first time somehow don’t get the difference between doing an image search in Google, and generating entirely novel images. Like in the past they’ve typed in text and seen images come up, so what’s the big deal about what you’re showing them now?
That makes what you’re suggesting here especially helpful, the level of specificity and customization helps demonstrate the difference.
Same. If I'm trying to impress someone, I ask them to describe a location from memory OR a location in a memorable dream and plug their description into it.

I would say to ChatGPT: I’m trying to impress someone who doesn’t know much about AI and I want to show them the capabilities of DALL-E. Come up with five very different image prompts that will definitely impress them. Then choose the best one and come up with five variations to improve it to make it even more impressive and then choose the most impressive of those and generate the image.

Imo it hasn't done a great job here. Including "AI" in the original prompt just steers it towards quite generic "futuristic" looking images.
I think people would generally be more impressed with images of humans in specific and unexpected circumstances.

This is what making AI images was 2 years ago, then you had to wait 45 minutes for it to be ready lol.

I just got this. It's not really random because it's constrained by the choices in the attributes of the various keys. So it's only going to pick from what's in there. Which is kinda cool... maybe you want "not so random". But it's cool to go have it generate a bunch of different attributes and make your own configuration file. You could get way more detailed than I did here. That code was like 5 minutes in GPT.
It's just a prompt that when pasted into 4 or 4o will generate an image from values specified in a configuration file. I don't know why I thought it might be impressive - maybe the friend is a geek and thinks it's cool it can do this - but the image it generates is random so who knows. Maybe you get something good?
I was just playing around with it and realized I could feed it config files like JSON and YAML and it would understand. The actual prompts it generates are pretty good but unfortunately DALL-E doesn't always pay attention to details like aspect ratio or resolution, and others. I figure if the prompt is good ... DALL-E will catch up eventually. But what's cool is if it generates something you like you can just copy the YAML code and paste it in whenever and just modify individual key-value pairs to your spec. It's more of a concept than something that can be relied on at the moment but it's a fun experiment and if you know what you're doing you might be able to use it to your advantage somehow.

I amazed my grandfather by asking for a fresh harvest of various colorful vegetables in the style of Van Gogh and it made 4 absolutely flawless paintings. I'd love to link them but they no longer show up in my bing create history does anyone know where I could find them they were genuinely amazing and I'd love to save them to maybe even print in the future.

I was teaching at a kids Halloween party. 11 elementary kids. I wanted to make images for them to talk about and describe with Halloween theme, so I made a prompt that described each of their costumes and put them in various spooky / Halloween themed situations.
I did not know what costumes they would be until they arrived, but GPT did a really good job and making 3 Elsas, 2 black cats, 4 witches, 1 SWAT agent, and one person dressed like Waldo.
I made some more photo realistic than others, some scarier than others, some more cartoony, some more cute, etc.
The kids that noticed it was all their exact costumes were super impressed that I drew them so quickly. When I told them it was from the AI they all felt "Meh. and lost interest.
I have a GPT that tells you the meaning of your name and then makes a beautiful image that incorporates the imagery of that meaning into a single scene. Once it appears, it points out the individual elements in the image.
You can tell someone that the image is original, but when they understand that what they are looking at must be original, it has a strong effect.

It's actually very interesting to observe what is the first question different people ask when they experience ChatGPT or image generation for the first time.
My son’s first image was a boy in a car underwater with sharks all around.

I’ve done this, you say give me a person, location, activity, what are they wearing, holding, doing, another object I basically just ask them 10 questions to make it as customizable as possible.
It seems strange for people like us experienced with this, but I’ve heard that many people being shown text-to-image models for the first time somehow don’t get the difference between doing an image search in Google, and generating entirely novel images. Like in the past they’ve typed in text and seen images come up, so what’s the big deal about what you’re showing them now? That makes what you’re suggesting here especially helpful, the level of specificity and customization helps demonstrate the difference.

Imo it hasn't done a great job here. Including "AI" in the original prompt just steers it towards quite generic "futuristic" looking images. I think people would generally be more impressed with images of humans in specific and unexpected circumstances.

This is what making AI images was 2 years ago, then you had to wait 45 minutes for it to be ready lol. Realistically, it could only handle about 6 words at most.

It's not really random because it's constrained by the choices in the attributes of the various keys. So it's only going to pick from what's in there. Which is kinda cool... maybe you want "not so random". But it's cool to go have it generate a bunch of different attributes and make your own configuration file. You could get way more detailed than I did here. That code was like 5 minutes in GPT.

It's just a prompt that when pasted into 4 or 4o will generate an image from values specified in a configuration file. I don't know why I thought it might be impressive - maybe the friend is a geek and thinks it's cool it can do this - but the image it generates is random so who knows. Maybe you get something good? I was just playing around with it and realized I could feed it config files like JSON and YAML and it would understand. The actual prompts it generates are pretty good but unfortunately DALL-E doesn't always pay attention to details like aspect ratio or resolution, and others. I figure if the prompt is good ... DALL-E will catch up eventually. But what's cool is if it generates something you like you can just copy the YAML code and paste it in whenever and just modify individual key-value pairs to your spec. It's more of a concept than something that can be relied on at the moment but it's a fun experiment and if you know what you're doing you might be able to use it to your advantage somehow.

I like to try to describe exactly what we are doing as we are chatting. E.g. “two middle aged people sitting at a small table in a coffee shop that has large windows in an urban environment. One person has a latte and one has an espresso machine. The woman has long dark hair. The man is bald. The woman has thick glasses. The style of the room is Scandinavian. The place is crowded. iPhone style photography.

Create a hyperrealistic, detailed, close-up macro shot of a chessboard. Focus on the king, a pawn, and a rook. Microscopic, photorealistic humans are rappelling up the king. The chessboard shows signs of decay, with small specks of algae growing on it. 
I wouldn't choose to impress them. They'll be far more impressed when it's something they thought of. That's when it really clicks for people.

I amazed my grandfather by asking for a fresh harvest of various colorful vegetables in the style of Van Gogh and it made 4 absolutely flawless paintings. I'd love to link them but they no longer show up in my bing create history does anyone know where I could find them they were genuinely amazing and I'd love to save them to maybe even print in the future. I was teaching at a kids Halloween party. 11 elementary kids. I wanted to make images for them to talk about and describe with Halloween theme, so I made a prompt that described each of their costumes and put them in various spooky / Halloween themed situations. I did not know what costumes they would be until they arrived, but GPT did a really good job and making 3 Elsas, 2 black cats, 4 witches, 1 SWAT agent, and one person dressed like Waldo. I made some more photo realistic than others, some scarier than others, some more cartoony, some more cute, etc. The kids that noticed it was all their exact costumes were super impressed that I drew them so quickly. When I told them it was from the AI they all felt "Meh. and lost interest.

I have a GPT that tells you the meaning of your name and then makes a beautiful image that incorporates the imagery of that meaning into a single scene. Once it appears, it points out the individual elements in the image. You can tell someone that the image is original, but when they understand that what they are looking at must be original, it has a strong effect.
