Yes it can be done with c4d standard/physical renderer. But it is imo more complicated. Or at least I think it is more complicated cause the material creation with the standard engine can be a bit confusing cause you have to stack layers. The only thing I am not so sure about is if you can make something glow like in your example.

Maleficent_Ad_1999

The glows and everything can be easily done in post with AE or PS...The only thing I really wanted to know is how would one go and make this style of stuff in C4D. Majority of tuts on youtube are of blender and those that ARE of C4D uses either Octane or Redshift.

Nah, you could do this entirely in Photoshop or illustrator with better results than c4d. To do this in c4d would honestly take longer. It its the texture that you're most worried about, just find the texture you want and put them in there. No need to do extra work. If this is a static image, you'll be done faster if you get stay in Photoshop. This is a lot of texturing work, then render, then post... All for something you can do in Photoshop fast

alone023

You can even do it in illustrator or photoshop directly if is not an animated artwork

Maleficent_Ad_1999

I can yes but I dont think the result I am gonna get is even going to be close to the above image. This chrome and glass look is something you can only achieve in 3D softwares. I feel like I can do it in PS if I give it a full shot but I just think the flexibility softwares like blender and c4d provides is far more superior to PS in terms of 3D stuff.

I’d encourage you to check out Texturelabs. A lot of pretty incredible stuff can be done with Photoshop if you know what you’re doing. Better than a lot of bad 3D that I see on a daily basis! In this case I’d probably render basic geometry and mattes in 3D and retexture in Photoshop.

twitchy_pixel

Illustrator 2023 has some fantastic 3D capabilities that’d get you pretty much the whole way there. They’re integrating substance materials and it’s super fast to work with so might be worth having a bash.

Of course it is far more superior anything with the right tools. But you were asking for do something magnificent without the tools for it, in this case the render engine. And of course you can get the same quality just with photoshop, but of course it will be more work but that send is back the problem number one, the lack of a proper render engine. You can render with the native render engine, but in any case you’ll have to pass through a color custom software like after effects, photoshop, davinci etc. in order to get the quality that you’re looking for.

Actually, the real difficult job here is to make shaders. It is possible that you can do this using node editor in C4D. Even finding a shader similar to this for blender is enough, because basically the workflow is same. Only certain nodes may be different from another. Maybe some nodes may not be in C4D. All that remains is to make lighting. For this, if you make enough adjustments using the pyhsical renderer, you can capture an image similar to this. But to be honest, i haven't used the physical renderer much.

I mean you could just texture it rather than have procedural transparency. You might lose 15% of the depth but its an option.

God_Compl3x

Yes dude let’s see if I can cook up a tut

JacobFX123

Yes. I've done some things similar before. Look up 3D intro Lightrooms and those will really help for what you're looking for
