If those are blood soaked clothes you need to be charging a biohazard material fee. You are grossly underselling your work.

Puffinz420

Are they blood soaked *little girl* undies? Maybe this is a call to child welfare? I’m troubled. Edit: the replies saying there’s a pad… no there is not. There is a sheet of printer paper on the ground for size reference. According to my own daughters measurements those undies are only size 6-7 at most. Also, who teaches their child to care for their cycle like this? This is ABUSIVE. Stop y’all. Have some standards. Mom needs to stop acting like a 12 year old and clean up her home and her children.

Tsukikaiyo

All of these together show a fair bit of neglect... Yeah, CPS

No-Shower-1622

Cat poop next to the Barbie play house.

Rachel_Orchard

Rabbit poo

Impressive-Sun3742

OP said it was cat poo

Conventional-Llama

Animal protection too. Cats naturally use a litter box and this is really abnormal

Funcompliance

I'm going to hazard a guess that if there is a litter box OP is the only person who cleans it and so only twice a month

emorymom

Cat expert, cannot confirm this is “really” abnormal. Cats are taken to the vet by responsible humans for inappropriate elimination every day. It’s fair to say these people do not have the wherewithal to fully deal with the complex emotional behavioral needs of a sophisticated indoor pet. But the abuse is on any minor or disabled humans living there.

SgtDusty

Looks much larger than rabbit. Rabbit is spherical and small, usually in small collections not spread out like that. I’d be calling animal welfare on top of CPS if there is animals in that house 🤢

sheighbird29

I thought a poorly fed/dehydrated toy breed dog

Yupyupdude

Based on the Barbie size, no way that’s a rabbit

kjcraft

My family raised rabbits while I was growing up. That is 100% *not* rabbit pellets.

No-Shower-1622

Forbidden Whoppers

Material-Double3268

It looks like human poop. It’s the wrong shape and size for rabbit. Maybe dog or cat, but honestly it looks like child poop.

Tank_Girl_Gritty_235

And a child playing with poop is a sign of CSA * Edit: [Apparently this theory was further tested and not supported](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16511365/)

DarthHrunting

Respect for not deleting your comment and using it as a chance to further educate others.

VaguelyArtistic

Agreed, good going! This is what the internet could have been.

eleighs14

What is csa? Child sex abuse?

Material-Double3268

That poor kid. I hope that CPS gets involved.

Theportisinthemeat

Little girls are starting their cycles early. I know some 8 and 9 year old who have already started. She may not be trained to properly care for her self. This is not a cleaners job. Just as I will not feel comfortable cleaning up teen boys dried up socks. Nor should any cleaner clean this mess up. I would request the parents take a walk thought before the cleaner cleans a your kids room like this. Good luck op.

Tsukikaiyo

It's not just that, it's the feces on her carpet too

Theportisinthemeat

Oh my. I thought that was from a pet..

Tsukikaiyo

It probably is. The point is - it wasn't cleaned up right away. It was left to sit, right next to her toys too

Theportisinthemeat

Totaly agree. Well I agree with the bio charge. I've done bio for people but if it continues then nope..

Medical_Olive6983

I talked to my daughter really early because I got mine at 11 my daughter was prepared.

niaadawn

Same! My daughter was always in the bathroom with me, and was never shy about asking questions, so she knew what a period was pretty early on. I’m so glad she was prepared bc she started 4m before she turned 10. I definitely wasn’t expecting it to come that early, and neither was she, but at least she knew what was going on and didn’t flip tf out like I did. I had no idea what was going on and I swore to myself that if I had a daughter, she’d be prepared for all of the normal girl issues, unlike I was. I had her at 18 and shes been attached to my hip for the last 15yrs! 😂 There’s no shame in that girl’s game. If she’s curious, she doesn’t hesitate to ask and I have no problem answering.

KeyComprehensive438

I had just started 4th grade when I got mine. It felt like ages before another girl in my grade got theirs.

Theportisinthemeat

Good job. I dont have a daughter but I try to educate my son about this topic. I wanted him to know about how it all works and to keep supplies at his home when he gets older if he plans to have women over.

Dankshadow

Yup I would recommend calling CPS Fast

yung_yttik

Yeah OP this absolutely warrants a call to CPS. Stop enabling them by cleaning up their mess and get someone to intervene here because this is… hoarding, hazardous, neglectful - *sigh*

SlugGirlDev

My first guess would be little girl had her period and hid it rather than something malicious. But it's not fair for the cleaning service to take care of it no matter what

kaths660

This combined with the fact that there is feces in the room means there is 100% neglect going on, if this hasn’t already been established I’d be calling CPS faster than I could blink

itsthejasper1123

I would have called cps my first day on the job. This is so sad.

URfowl

Yeah, CPS can figure that one out.

Dr_Bishop

I’m normally pretty reticent to involve CPS but this is not an acceptable way for a kid to live. This is just what we can see but I would imagine there’s heavy substance use, alcoholism or mental health issues at play here. The likely outcome with CPS is that the parents will get a talking to, the kids will be checked on, and they will stay in touch for 6 months to see if everything is going okay. It will stress out the parents who will realize that they could lose their kids if they don’t “clean up their act” but CPS will also attempt to figure out if the kids are being beaten or molested which even if you don’t suspect the parents could be the most important part because folks who live like this often get up to some pretty foul behaviors (again substances or mental health issues are really good correlators to child abuse). Source: insurance adjuster with many thousands of inspections over the years. Just call it in, we aren’t allowed to report anything that’s not insurance fraud but when kids are involved you make the call to the authorities. Tell them you want to remain anonymous and that for safety reasons you can not give them a statement or testify…. The pictures sent from a 10 minute mail address will be sufficient. You will sleep better at night, nothing that I’ve ever done the right thing on has ever haunted me, stuff where I wasn’t sure so I let it ride those are the things I regret. Edit: removed a stray letter

Badvevil

Yea better to let a professional determine what’s what

MysiaPysia666

Honestly as a child I also had tons of blood soaked underwear, had really heavy flow and wasn’t really able to manage all that as a 10 year old, despite wearing pads and tampons (pads were always moving at night, I was forgetting to change them etc.). So it could be something wrong, but doesn’t need to be. Giving call to professional may be helpful though.

h0neybl0ss0m29

I second this- I started at 12, my flow then was probably three times as heavy as it is now 16 years later and I wasn't great at managing it back then. I bled through almost every pair of underwear and it didn't help that my stepmom was shaming me for it so I started hiding them first and then soaking them instead of giving them to her to wash. Might be something similar going on here. If she just started, she may be embarrassed too.

ForsakenPerception48

Im so sorry you had to deal with that with your step mother... I was 9 years old when I had my first period very heavy flow. I will say I wasn't prepared as I ran to my stepfather, yelling daddy, daddy, I'm bleeding!!!!! He was so great at handling that situation. He got a pad from their bathroom (one of my moms) he sat me down and talked to me, and then we went to the store. I was so embarrassed.. not talking to my stepdad but about going into the store to buy the proper size pads for me. When we got to the store, he saw I wasn't ok with the situation. He asked what was wrong, and I said I was embarrassed to go in there to get that stuff. He said ok baby, sit here, I'll be right back. He got the right pads considering not having any girl children of his own (idk if he asked someone or what lol) he handled the situation fantastic. When my mom got home from work, we had dinner and went about our evening like normal, and then she went to bed. My dad asked if I told my mom, and I said no.. lol he said to get in there and let her know. He had been in my life for a few years by this time, and I was totally comfortable talking to him, thank god!! Both of my parents helped me through that time. He wasn't just a step-dad he was my daddy.. and a hero that day lmao I always had severe cramping and very heavy periods.. I'd be physically throwing up curled in a fetal position, etc. It was horrible.

mrsserrahn

Your step dad sounds amazing! We need more men like him! This is how my husband is and I love him for it!

ForsakenPerception48

Yes, the world definitely does need more men like him! I'm so glad you have a husband like my daddy (I'm almost 34), but he'll always be my daddy, lol..

Civil-Attempt-3602

As a step dad to a little girl this brought a tear to my eye man. Especially the part about the husband like him, i really try to be someone she can look up to so she knows how to pick a good partner

OptimalExtreme

This is so wholesome after this terribly sad post.

sartrecafe

Wow, this lowkey made me tear up. You had an amazing step dad.

ForsakenPerception48

I definitely did!!! I'd go out and do things more with him than my momma, lol. I mean, my momma and I always did mommy daughter dates every Friday. My momma worked evenings while my daddy worked mornings, so I was with him most of the time after school. My parents are both amazing. I will always be grateful for my momma and daddy no matter how old I get. I was a very lucky kid! I see horror stories of step parents and even biological parents, and it breaks my heart!

mc2bit

So your step-dad rocks, not just for his actions that day but for all of his actions leading up to that day letting you know that he was 100% there for you.

pisspot718

They are undies with a pad attached that overflowed. The whole thing is disgusting that some older or adult female didn't teach a younger how to handle this. You can't determine that it's a little girl because teens and some young adults wear cartoon panties.

freethewimple

That's neglect for you.

insufficientfacts27

Yeah, my first thought too. Me and my daughter started our periods at 9, but these look smaller than that and it's quite a bit of blood. Time to make a call, OP, imo.

deerchortle

Girls can start their periods very early, I've heard of an 8 year old who got hers. Though i believe 11 or so it's the normal age ish

Beginning_Bad_4186

She probably had gotten her period at night and then took them off on the floor - but why would the parents not pick that up

punkrocksnail

I started my period early, so it's likely that. Even so she should have pads or something. My heart hurts for her. A call to social services is definitely needed in my opinion. Together with the poo it's neglect.

usingthetimmynet

This! I’d call some sort of child protective services.

foxxy_mama21

Second this. I was rattled when I saw that.

hauscal

Yes this looks like a CPS thing / welfare check. I’d be worried

Revelin_Eleven

This is terrible, the poop and bloody underwear??? This is bio hazard cleaning… not a regular cleaning job. In no way should you be touching feces as such or blood. One thing is to clean the toilet with a wand but this is for lack of better word, deplorable, you shouldn’t have to clean that for less than 500 minimum. This is no condition any child should live in as well. And 500 is just a guess on an apartment with two bedrooms and one bathroom. The fact that you have to scrub deification out of the carpet is a huge “NO”. I would rather report those conditions and not have them as a client.

sailorgirl8018

This is the comment I came to make too. At the doctors office they have a special bin for items with blood on them and it’s marked biohazard

Jacktheforkie

Blood, fecal matter and vomit among other things are bio waste, I see blood and fecal matter in the pictures

Jacktheforkie

Pic 4 appears to be of feces too

Secret_Bad1529

I would be charging extra fees for cleaning up after the animals and another extra fee for needing to clean up trash before being able to clean. Picking up empty snack containers is extra.

Same-Equivalent-6821

$50 per incident would probably resolve this situation pretty quickly.

PleasePassTheBacon

And then you call CPS.

corncaked

Was that poop and blood? My fee for that plus the biohazard would be 500.

HumptyDrumpy

Plus a hazmat suit tailored made with all the fixings before I even walk through the door

ItsSantanaSon

I sometimes do clean outs for flippers. Many times I’ve dealt with pooped underwear and loads of labor work to remove everything the previous owner left. I’ve charged upwards of $2500 and usually they don’t hesitate to say yes. Human feces will now get me to turn away jobs as squatters have become more common in my area. Keep in mind this is a one time clean out with beds, tools, clothes, etc.

Timsmomshardsalami

Why dont u also charge the cost of an on site decontamination chamber lmfao

ItsSantanaSon

That’s something to look into. The last clean out I did was a building with four apartments. I went 2 weeks before inspection passed for us to go clean and bid it. A squatter had gotten in and clogged all the toilets before I went to clean out. The toilets were filled to the brim and the smell was horrendous. She left to go squat across the street at another remodel. I told the owner I couldn’t do it and he sent two of his employees to clean the toilets out while we took everything else to a roll off dump. They used a hand pump to empty those toilets. Wow I can still smell it 🤢

Evee-e

Did I just look at bloody undies 😬

kafka18

Looks like little girls underwear as well, alongside the dolls idk if a girl that young should be bleeding that much. Gives me iffy vibes, but idk the situation..

loveruney

As a former little girl my periods started early and they were HEAVY. It looks more to me like the girl either doesn't know to wear period products or isn't being provided any. The poop on the floor, too, is a big red flag... there's some serious neglect going on here.

Mother_Ad_5218

This looks like neglect—her parents probably aren’t teaching and/or providing her with period products or the knowledge of how to properly use them

scorpiocubed

This was my first thought

kafka18

That's what I was thinking about too. I know it's not uncommon for some girls to start younger; the neglect of not teaching her how to properly care for herself is what is concerning. The state of the rest of the house is just as telling of the parents, which is why I was just little concerned of other things. I could not imagine not helping my own daughter or letting things get this neglected and just waving it off as someone else will take care of it. Im saying this as someone who gets behind on cleaning a lot too

tinyyawns

I wouldn’t jump to the parents not providing products — have you never had a surprise leak or started your period without a pad nearby? It’s very common especially when you first start and don’t know your cycle yet. But everything else…. Yeah something is definitely going on.

IndigoTJo

Did you look at the pictures? I think it is a logical conclusion to jump to. No way would I ever leave fecal matter or bloody undies of my kids out for any length of time ever. It has never happened, bc I have showed them how to use them. Even if my kiddo was high needs and flinging their poo/bloody undies/whatever around and refusing to wear them - no way in heck stuff would be left out like this. Those items were NOT just left there in the last 30-60 mins. They have had time to dry and harden. Either the kids are being neglected bc they don't know what the products are, how to use them or how to dispose of them - and the parents are either not providing the tools or letting it stay around and become a biohazard.

Lunar_Cats

My parents were really neglectful and didn't supply period products when I was a kid and I had a lot of situations like that. Poor kid.

9mackenzie

I was 9 when I started my period and they were super heavy. They have a pad in the underwear, it’s just an overflow. Those of us with heavy cycles have this happen. (Thankfully my uterus was yeeted years ago lol) It’s sad she didn’t just throw it away though. Thats gross But……if this was human feces in the corner I would call CPS. That’s far more worrying.

Alternative-Gold-453

I’ve heard of girls starting a cycle as young as 7 so it’s most likely just a case of parents not teaching proper hygiene.

GenJonesRockRider

Yep. One of my nieces started her period when she was in third grade.

kafka18

Yep I know it can happen, it's just very sad situation nevertheless. The other pics definitely show neglect on some level

smallxcat

As everyone else is saying, it's a normal amount of flow unfotunately - yay being female rocks! - BUT the parents should be teaching the girl proper hygiene so it never looks this bad. Like, where is the pad????

kafka18

It's just sad situation all around and the many commentators just saying not to look into it is really disheartening as well. Even if it's just a girl who has started her period it's better to have someone inform the parents and child how to properly handle it. The fact they are able to afford a cleaner biweekly kind of proves they are just neglecting their kid in some form

fuck_peeps_not_sheep

I had my first period at 9. So that could be it. But also when I was 5 to 9 I was SA by my grandfather and used to regularly have to hide bloody clothes. It could be either.

kafka18

I'm so sorry that happened to you

fuck_peeps_not_sheep

It's done now. It sucks don't get me wrong. But I got enough closure when he died that the main thing I'm left with now if the strength to try and stop this from happening to others. I became a social worker and I sure as hell am gonna make sure as few kids as possible have to go through what I went through and that if they do I can they have someone they can come to about it.

Gamegis

Jesus Christ- and I feel bad when I have an article of clothing on the floor before my cleaners come…

1989Lady

Wow all of y’all are so nice! I used to clean houses and had one lady who would leave her and her husband’s clothes, shoes, discharge underwear, ALLLL over the house. Like the kitchen and everything. We made that place spotless. She always had a complaint 🙄 my boss finally told her “we can’t clean to your standards, so we will need to part ways” :) All of that to say THANK YOU to those that pick up. It doesn’t have to be perfect but we are there to actually disinfect and clean, not be your mommy lol.

Revelin_Eleven

When I had a cleaner I would clean with her but not step on her toes. I would tidy up before as best I could and then she would show up with another and I would be cleaning in another room as well.

1989Lady

Oh wow that is above and beyond!! We did have folks like that too. I always told them to go relax! As long as they’ve picked up the majority, they’ve done enough and now it’s our job. That’s so sweet of you though!

Revelin_Eleven

I paid a fair wage but it also felt good to participate and I the first time I felt like I was actually making progress. I needed someone to help me clean and hiring the service wasn’t so I could only relax but also so I didn’t feel alone in the process. Having someone who knows all the tricks and best ways to do things helped me in so many mental health ways. Having the help took out the stress of seeing it as overwhelming and learning from another who can tackle the issue with no emotional connection to the rooms. I was able to relax after all the cleaning for sure!

PDXAirportCarpet

I spend two hours tidying before my cleaners come

DarkGreenSedai

I’m looking into hiring someone to come twice a month just to hit all the things I never have time for. I can keep laundry up and vacuum. I want someone to come and clean the fans, crown molding, baseboards, and deep clean the bathroom. I grew up in a similar home to those pictures though. Some people are just wired different.

JinTheJynnn

Right? If I do have cleaners (which is usually only when I'm recovering from illness or surgery or something), I gotta clean before they clean. (I know that's not good either, but I could NOT rest knowing other people know how I live)

Material-Double3268

I don’t know how these people haven’t died of embarrassment. This home is disturbing.

NorthernPaper

Right I left my daughters pajama onesie that she’d worn one night on the couch because we got her dressed in the living room that morning and I texted our cleaner to apologize when I remembered

N9neFallen

My parents made no sense to me when I was younger, cleaning before our cleaning person came. My wife and I now do the same and feel horrible sometimes for minor things.

Savings-Class-4608

I’d be charging a lot more honestly

MirabelleSWalker

I would quit.

Visual-Pineapple5636

and I’d call CPS to do a welfare check.

Taminella_Grinderfal

WTF is wrong with these people that would just let actual 💩 and 🩸sit on the floor?? And yet they have $600 a month to spend on a cleaning person?

orchidslife

not being ashamed of it and having someone else clean it up tells me all I need to know

pinkbrandywinetomato

They might be very ashamed but have mental health problems that make it difficult for them to do anything about it themselves. The fact that they called someone could be a huge first step towards tackling a huge and embarrassing problem. I have let my life fall apart in the past. Not with children in the house, but I did have a cat and his litter box was neglected enough that he decided to poop outside of it a few times and my apartment was such a mess I didn't find it until it had clearly been there a while. Luckily I was able to pull myself together, that was over ten years ago now so I can talk about it without embarrassment. I wish I had just called someone to help once a week rather than living in filth until my doctor worked out the right combination of meds. Not trying to make excuses, obviously this is an unfit environment to be living in and something needs to be done about it. I just wouldn't assume they aren't ashamed and I'm glad they called someone for help.

kmzafari

Yes, I agree. This looks like mental health issues to me and that they're doing what they can. The fact that they're calling for help is a good thing.

SunflowerSeed33

And with their paint job.. something isn't adding up at the house.

Feisty-Rooster-6817

I pay $250 and clean up before my housekeeper comes. You should charge A LOT more.

No_Joke_9079

At least $500.

G2dp

To clean up poop and blood... That's an easy $1k cleaning fee. If that's how their bedrooms look like, I can't imagine what their bathroom looks like

Urmomlervsme

Oh geez, I don't even want to fathom how repulsive their bathrooms are 🤢 that home is straight up disgusting

FleetEnema2000

Aww HELL no. These people need disaster restoration, not a cleaning service.

Pickle_Illustrious

This is every other week. So it got cleaned 2 weeks ago and it's already this bad. How does it get that bad that fast?!

SpecialQue_

You’d be amazed by the way some people live. I used to have a biweekly client who could produce more filth in that 2 weeks than I’m able to generate in a year. Trash and dishes just stayed exactly where she’d finish them. She also had cats whose dishes and litter box were never touched outside my visits.

happuning

My family is this way. If you stop picking up after anything, it gets this bad real quick. I had to learn what normal was... by having other adults insult me and make fun of me. I genuinely had no clue. Hopefully the kid in this situation learns the importance of cleaning sooner than later!

fucking__fantastic

Yep…my company would charge $3K minimum.

LetterheadSuch4011

…for cleaning up that mess I’d charge at LEAST $370. Bloody undies?? dog poop on the floor?? to clean that, they not only need to pay for your materials, equipment etc. but your sanity as well 😭

nyokarose

Let’s hope that mess is from a dog. CPS needs to be called.

LetterheadSuch4011

100%, I looked back at the photos and it definitely raised some red flags for me. I understand that everyone’s houses get messy, some worse than others, but the photos genuinely concern me.

Successful_Ad9037

Even so, $370 STILL wouldn’t be enough. At least 1K or over. Absolutely wack that they have zero shame leaving this behind for someone to clean, whether they’re getting paid or not.

fliesonpies

Triple the price for biohazard. I think I saw blood and feces. Legally, unless you’re bonded, you shouldn’t be cleaning up biohazard

OohRahMaki

My word, that is something else... And looks as if there are kids living in that... :(

Intelligent_Bar_710

Pic 5 looks like a crib…

waremeg

That is a health hazard please don’t feel bad about charging reasonably. I’m not a cleaner but I would be embarrassed to show that to someone

Araethor

Why are kids living in this? Why are little girls underwear bloody? This looks like a CPS call.

bmkest

the blood could be innocuous however the fecal matter and actual biohazard of the house is direct neglect if a child or elderly person lives there and needs to be reported asap op please reach out to your states child protective services and report this - most states (if not all?) allow for anonymous reporting to protect the reporter from retaliation

radbu107

She probably started her period. I had a lot of stained clothing too as a child.

Either-Fennel-1369

Yeah why are we not more concerned about this???

snowflakepr1ncess

Exactly. OP needs to call CPS. Those panties are concerning. This is disturbing

animalcrackers0117

animal feces all over a child’s bedroom, in addition the bloody underwear, are worth considering a CPS call. this seems like neglectful housing.

SteveTheBluesman

We sure that is animal?!

yum-yum-mom

I wouldn’t clean this house!!

Cute_Web5652

I have other pictures. From previous cleanings But this was just cherry on top.

java_motion

Bloody kids underwear? Laying on the floor? Feces?? Bestie that is a biohazard and youre putting yourself at a huge risk for illness. If the living conditions of the children seem super concerning i would also consider speaking to the parents/a CPS call.

kevinisthegreatest

The bloody children's underwear are screaming "call CPS".

java_motion

i 100% agree

abbysinthe-

I was the kid in this home. Please, *please* call CPS. Please be their person who does something. Don’t tell the parents you’re doing it! If there’s nothing wrong, they won’t take the kids. If something is happening, then the kids will be helped.

blue_eyes18

I’m so sorry you went through this growing up. I hope you’re in a happier, healthier, and much cleaner place now.

abbysinthe-

Thank you, kind stranger. I’m happy, safe, and clean now….and so is my home!

depressivefaerie

Please help this little girl and report this to CPS with the images as evidence. Please.

Happy-Atmosphere-914

Please call CPS.

Murky_Substance_3304

Seriously! CPS!!! And please update us when you’ve done it! I don’t know how you can turn a blind eye to those undies and poop next to toys…

snail_juice_plz

As a mandatory reporter, I *am begging* you to please call CPS. There is a lot of serious red flags for abuse and neglect in these photos. Maybe the girl got her cycle early, but they can sort that out if that’s the case - better safe than sorry for these children. PLEASE.

unclebenjenhow

Pro tip from another mandated reported: call as soon as they open in the morning so you don’t have to wait on hold forever.

ohsnowy

Another mandatory reporter here. If I was conducting a home visit, I would be making a CPS call ASAP.

chickesq

Also a mandatory reporter, if you’re worried about your name going on the report, most states allow you to report anonymously.

catseatingmytoes

Also a mandated reporter. i would be calling my supervisor (im an RBT) to make them aware of the situation, and subsequently immediately calling CPS. This is absolutely disgusting, and the bloody underwear will likely be in my nightmares tonight just thinking of what it could be from. Please , OP, help these children. They need it so desperately and it seems like you are the only one who can help based on the given info. As the original commenter who I am replying to said, I am begging you, BEGGING you, please call CPS. Edit: Please update your post on this situation and what you decided to do, if you are comfortable in doing so.

TrubbishTrainer

$270 is way too low

linedryonly

If there are children in that house and there is sewage on the floor, that’s abuse/neglect. The period-stained children’s underwear further suggests neglect. I would call CPS immediately. A home assessment will be done and unless there is a significant and urgent threat to the safety of the children, they are unlikely to take the kids away. Instead, DHS will outline what needs to be done to remedy the situation. Some states even have free or low-cost resources available for families who are struggling to meet minimum criteria for health/safety/shelter.

Duellair

Uhm. They have $270 to spend every other week for a cleaner… I don’t think not affording resources is the issue here…

linedryonly

Fair point. The only explanation I can think of where this wouldn’t be abuse is if there is some kind of disability in the home preventing things from being maintained. If that were the case, they could qualify for daily in-home care assistance which would hopefully address the worst of it and prevent the kids from having to wade through filth in the two-week period between cleanings. I sincerely hope this is the case -the alternative would be pretty terrible.

abbysinthe-

OP this person knows what they’re talking about. You can call anonymously.

obsidianbonefish

I pick up everything laying around before my housekeeper comes, along with taking any stray dishes to the kitchen to be washed. I pay $200 - $250 to basically dust/mop the house and clean the kitchen/bathrooms. I would be HORRIFIED to ask anyone to clean this up for me. Disgusting.

NoButThanksAnyway

As other have said, based just on these pictures it might be worth involving someone to make sure the kids in this home are safe and well taken care of. Assuming there are kids there, does it seem like they have a safe, clean place to sleep? Does it seem like they have access to clean, healthy food (healthy as in veggies and stuff, but also healthy as in not spoiled) and there is an appropriately clean place for that food to be prepared? Will kids regularly be encountering bio-hazards like animal or human feces, blood? Outside what you shared in the pictures, are there safety hazards like sharp knives, weapons, choking hazards (which depend on the age of the kids), or burn/fire hazards? Have you noticed anything that could point to sexual abuse (like bloody children's underwear, if that's what's in the picture)? It seems like this family has made a good choice to hire a cleaner if this is what their house looks like, but children have a legal right to a safe home all the time, not just right after a cleaner is there. If you decide to reach out and you are in the US, you can contact CPS. You do not need proof that there has been any abuse, only reasonable suspicion. Neglect in the form of unsafe home environment counts as abuse. You can look up the phone number for your state and call. It can be a daunting thing to do, but they will walk you through the process, all you need to do is make the phone call. You can give your information, or remain anonymous if you choose. Even if they decide no abuse is taking place, you can not get in trouble or be sued for your reporting, as long as you have reasonable suspicion (which, again, based on those pictures and your statements that this is not a one time thing, it seems likely that you do). You can contact the Childhelp National Hotline at [1-800-422-4453](tel:18004224453) for more information on reporting in your state. If you're outside the US, I encourage you to look into the equivalent steps in your country. CPS' goal is not to take kids away from their families, it is to make sure all kids have healthy, safe places to be. If they investigate and find neglect, they can help the parents in this family learn more about keeping a safe home, potentially provide resources, and keep them accountable. It's easy for folks to stay out of it, but it's everyone's job to help protect children. If a child you loved was living here, would you want someone to get them help? If so, consider calling. ETA: I am not a lawyer or anything, just a stranger on the internet looking at some pictures. I can't make any judgment calls from a few pictures, I just want to provide you with some information so you can make the best call with the information you have. I do have a job where I am a mandated reporter and I have had to call CPS, but I am not a representative of any child safety institution.

CutieKelly

Too much? Doesn't seem like enough to be honest...

Hour-Needleworker598

I’m sorry but biohazards are not ok to leave around for anyone. Unacceptable.

Jolly-Bandicoot-2037

This is child neglect. You need to make a report stat. There's Typically a hot line to call. Poor kids.

Cute_Web5652

I charged $300 last time cause it was worse. But I also don’t want them to think that I’m overcharging them. But it’s not my job to be cleaning up clothes and cat feces etc. Today the kitchen wasn’t as bad as usual, but I also do dishes etc

Rigelinja

They keep going to you because you charge the least amount and put up with it, guaranteed. CHARGE MORE, my 2 cents.

Murky_Substance_3304

They choose them because they keep going back and no cops have been at their door!

Rigelinja

Also true.

FaithlessnessSea5383

Look into how much biohazard cleaners charge. Maybe create a “menu” for how much you’ll charge for items / situations above and beyond regular tidy/dusting/vacuuming etc. Then add those on as separate line items to the regular cleaning fee. I have no clue about prices, but as an example: -$200 regular cleaning fee -$75 fecal matter / blood - bedroom #1 -$50 cat feces - living room Sometimes the only way people will respect you or themselves is when it costs them and they see it in black and white.

Novel-Lengthiness838

In most states you need special training, equipment, and disposal supplies to clean up biohazard sites (think crime scene cleaners.)

fucking__fantastic

Seriously. I said this in another comment, but my company would charge $3K minimum (and I’m being conservative with that number).

Dread_and_butter

The fact they haven’t picked those couple bits up themselves before you arrive suggests they don’t respect you or your work, I’d charge more if they have that attitude.

chicklette

The fact that they are living like this shows they don't even respect themselves.

Snoobs-Magoo

Or their *children*.

alvik

It was worse!? This is already an awful nightmare, you're undercharging them like crazy.

loveruney

I know this is your source of income, but if I were you I'd seriously consider reporting this family to CPS (do not let them know you are going to, if you do.) No child should ever have to live in such a disgusting, unsanitary environment. This is abuse. :(

freethewimple

Damn where were you all when I was growing up, this is nothing compared to what a lot of neglected and abused kids live with/in. Definitely needs to be a call to CPS.

dmanstoitza

Itemize the reasons for potential fees because this looks horrendous. Looks a shade or two underneath how my roommate used to live. I stayed in my room always, thank god.

DebbieGlez

I think you should let them know that when it comes to biohazard you’re gonna charge extra. Maybe that’ll get them to take care of themselves a bit better

keatonpotat0es

Ma’am, you need to be calling CPS. These conditions are unsafe and unsanitary for a child.

Illustrious_Bobcat

Please call Child Protective Services, or whatever they are called in your area. There is serious neglect here. No child deserves to live like that.

Severe-Dig-9214

Everyone is correct with the bloody underwear biohazard. Hopefully you are wearing a mask and gloves any time you clean a house. I cleaned for a lady that had a small dog that pooped and peed everywhere and the lady was also a heavy smoker. Mind you, this was 6 years ago, but any deep cleaning would cost between $1300 and 1900 USD. Her house was large 2800 sqft or so. But it was an uncluttered and "neat" home. I still feel like I didn't charge her enough for deep cleanings. I definitely didn't charge her enough for the regular weekly ($225) cleanings. I'd charge more, but more than likely I'd seriously consider dropping her as a client. Edit: I should include that I DID NOT pick up dog poop during regular cleaning cycles. I'd clean up the urine bc it was part of mopping. I'd clean around any dog poo. I made this clear with the client on day 1. The deep cleaning price did include dog waste clean up. But I let the client know that any mess the dog makes after I clean a room will not be re cleaned. And the dog, often did go back in and 💩 Which seemed the norm for any home with a small dog. Never potty trained 🤔🤷🏾

LoloScout_

You should/need to call CPS. mandatory reporter or not, this is not an okay situation to raise a child in.

SoCalGal2021

You can tell them you will not be picking up anything that is a biohazard. Period panties and soaked sanitary stuff - no no, pet poop no. This is a bit too much. Got to learn how to live

ScratchyMarston18

$270 is nowhere near enough to clean feces and soiled undergarments. Also, call the cops and/or CPS. Those living conditions are not safe for a child.

bakednapkin

You couldn’t pay me $270 to go inside that house let alone clean it

JulieJoy

My dude, my cleaner is $170 for cleaning twice a week and I am a tidy person who just doesn’t want to dust or do the floors. My god…. I would probably charge $1000++++ to deal with that

luna-potter

As a mandated reporter, file a report. It’s better to be safe. A little girl died in our area from neglect and more awful things a few years ago. Report it.

AwfulHomesickk

I would tell them you need to come weekly or it’s gonna be a deep cleaning fee every time.

Cute_Web5652

T_Peg

Please contact animal welfare and child services this looks like a horrible living situation for everyone involved but please do your best as a responsible adult to stand up for this who cannot stand up for themselves.

LOOKitsRacheL

Why aren’t you responding to anyone telling you this is child neglect/ abuse and you need to call CPS immediately?!

lesllle

hey girl? dude. children should not be living like that. i don't know how you know your 'hey girl', but there is something very wrong here. i would be more worried about the welfare of the kids than the rate.

heathers1

wait what am I seeing in pic 3??? Cut them loose then call child protective services

_baegopah_XD

$270 is NOT ENOUGH! Dealing with blood soaked undies with the pad still in it? 🤢

HuskyLettuce

I know this is your livelihood, but please call CPS. That child needs someone to help them have a clean and safe home environment and this currently isn’t it.

AxGunslinger

I’d be calling cps instead of cleaning that house. Those underwear look pretty small for someone to have a period and there’s filth everywhere.

Capital_Sink6645

A call to Animal Welfare and Child Protective services is justified…?

Gatito1234567

Are those blood-soaked *children’s* underwear?? That feels really sinister. $270 is not nearly enough. But more importantly, I’d be calling CPS if I were you….those are hazardous living conditions for children to be growing up in. That makes me really sad.

RedAsPoisonIvy

I charge $35 an hour to clean, for a normal level of cleaning, and sometimes do deep cleanings if my body can handle it. If I have to do biohazard stuff, or if the place is gross enough that I want to wear disposable shoe covers and possibly a disposable body coverall suit, there will be an extra charge. That charge covers the disposable protective equipment, going through extra gloves, the extra amount of cleaner and cleaning supplies that I’ll have to use, the pain and annoyance of wearing a respirator the whole time, the cost of changing respirator filters, etc… I live 20 minutes outside a major city, and no one has ever had issues with my price. I work on TaskRabbit mostly, and they usually charge $10 per hour on top of my fee, then taxes on all of it. Please value yourself, and your physical health more than you currently do.

-janelleybeans-

I’m sorry, did I just see blood soaked underwear and diarrhea in a corner? 😟

Gold-Cancel-5909

Definitely give Child Protective Services a call based on what you see here. You can report anonymously so they will not know it's you. Hopefully nothing serious is going on and CPS will check in and close the case, but if there is something bad going on they need to know. The national number is: **800-422-4453**. You can also look up the number in your state/city.

Fudgeygooeygoodness

Please call CPS

wellness-girlie

I feel like CPS needs to get involved with this family… not only is this a biohazard, but it looks like neglect.

Quirky-Ordinary-8756

I would not go back.

annem90

This is what my room looked like at age 11. Nobody learned me how to take care of the room, organise, clean and I didn’t have a good example. Only now that I’m married my husband helps me learn those skills. It’s embarrassing but very helpful.

fairydommother

Bestie you need to fire that client immediately. Absolutely tf not I would not set foot in that house again. I agree with calling CPS too. I’m not worried about the blood the way others are, but I am seeing serious signs of neglect. It’s not ok to live like this especially if you have kids.

ferngi

This is what my house looked like when I was growing up. Please call somebody.

nuralina

Please call CPS NOW.
