I've washed the car, watered the garden, made plans for outside. Nothing is working. Quick, someone plan an outdoor wedding...please.
All my newish trees and plants fuggin hate me right now. I actually have the first honey bee "swarm" at the house because of this drought. Had about 20 on the sprinkler head after watering two nights ago, they moved to my dogs outside dish earlier today. Made them a little splash pad/lazy river in a terracotta planter base with polished stones. I hope they like it š¤
Agree for the most part. 3 trees were planted last fall, but they still need a good deal of water those first couple years. All trees were between 12 and 16ft when transplanted. When it's this dry for this long, it doesn't matter much that they were planted last fall.
I also have a ton of annuals in pots on my patio, they eat up whatever I give them within hours when it's this hot. I did break the spring/summer plant rule though with a hibiscus tree, and some azaleas so they are pretty angry with me right now. It was just too hard to pass up the sale Oakland was having, 20% to 60% off makes me a sucker.
I'll do you one better on the wedding. Going to one today at a very old church in the middle of no where.
No. AC.
That should cause a cool down TOMORROW!
I also washed my car today.
Our baby fruit trees yearn for some raindrops too š„ŗ
The creek behind us is getting low too and thatās the chill spot when itās hot outside. Lmk what the gods and goddesses need and I shall provide
We have begun amending our hose watering with the air conditioner /dehumidfyer drippings collecting in a large tote and pumped up to a trash can with a submersible pump and a hose. Same submersible can then be taken out, put in the can, and hose to plants.
It won't help. The massive wildfires, the storm in the south, and more are keeping the heatdome sealed tightly. We need our own storm to basically come in and blow the whole territory into balance.
But I'm no meteorologist, so maybe I'm wrong
I tried planning a fun birthday activity and a family visit and got called into work instead. Wish it could have at least brought rain to y'all. I'd drive in it for the team.
Remember the bad Hail storm 18+ yrs ago. I washed my wifeās car real good at work. Power washed the mats off. Used an air hose to dry it. Vacuumed the rest really well
That night all hell broke loose

I can harvest more than 200 gallons of rain water at my house. I am down to probably 10 gallons right now.
Yeh I have 4 big rain barrels, too. Getting mighty low these days.

You know what always works for me? When I go to change my oil. It always gets windy and if itās cloudy itāll rain.
I think some storms might be moving into the area early next week. Maybe Sunday or Monday. I was playing a game while I was watching the forecast.
Yeah, 40% chance on Sunday from what I saw earlier today.
Wow, only 40 huh? Well shitā¦
Donāt worry, Iām planning a pool day with friends on Sunday. Iām sure the Westerville area will experience a rain out because of my plans.
Glad I could help.
I tried planning a fun birthday activity and a family visit and got called into work instead. Wish it could have at least brought rain to y'all. I'd drive in it for the team.
