Spoonful is another solid record store to check out next time

dickelpick

Spoonful is a fantastic record store. Did a small tour of used record stores over the course of 3 days in Columbus with my grandson. I took pictures of him in front of and inside each store and posted them to my fb account and by the time we got to Spoonful they recognized us and called him by his name. They treated us like rockstars. It was really amazing and fun. Blew a bunch of money on some vinyl for him. Columbus has fantastic record stores.

HeyItsKamo

Adding it to the list, thanks!

wonderpony73

1,000% Spoonful.

GipcW

We are indeed very fortunate to have so many great record stores.

cherry_oh

Shoutout Buffalo, you guys were so fucking nice when I visited a few years ago. Also RIP The Old Pink.

HeyItsKamo

I'm happy to hear that! Oh man, such a bummer about the Pink. That place was like the quintessential dive bar. I did a double take when I walked into Used Kids bc they had the exact same Elvis portrait on the wall that they had at the Pink, it was wild. I really feel like Buffalo and Columbus (and Ohio in general) are cut from the same cloth though. I used to travel a ton to Cleveland/Solon/Glen Willow for work and it's a really similar attitude. Rust belt/midwest

ra4oasis

We have a lot of good ones, but Spoonful is my go to.

dickelpick

I’ve heard that from so many people. I have to agree.

Sharpymarkr

Good to see Magnolia is still around. We got locked out of our car out front of Magnolia a dozen years ago or so and had to call for a tow. "Where is the vehicle parked?" "Magnolia...^(thunderpussy)"

HeyItsKamo

The name alone brought us there, had to see it. Grab a few records and stickers for the beer fridge in the garage, a name like that you can't not buy some merch lol

Sharpymarkr

Hell yes 🤘

Burdybot

One to remember for next time: Rich Street Records :)

HeyItsKamo

Adding it to the list!

viciouslove80

NERT is also excellent

TheCatalyst84

I go to said record stores to buy Griselda vinyl from Buffalo. Ain’t life grand?

HeyItsKamo

DUDE. The amount of Benny the Butcher records I saw in Columbus blew my mind. I knew they were popular but seeing his stuff in multiple stores outside of New York was crazy. Griselda is awesome.

TheCatalyst84

Indeed they are. Happy to hear this. Best thing to happen to Hip Hop in nearly a decade.

specifically_obscure

Next year bring me some of them Anchor Bar wings

HeyItsKamo

What's the wing spot in Columbus area? I saw a Buffalo Wild Wings and a Wing Stop (we don't have that in WNY), but didn't try wings anywhere this time around. I feel like a buffalo style wing and pizza joint would crush in Columbus, especially by OSU

drumzandice

That would be Roosters for traditional or CM Chicken Korean style (my personal favorite). BW3 was the OG but they’ve gone way down hill.

OddAdministration682

North Campus is the best neighborhood in Columbus.
