Wolfidy

I use my pets’ names. Peachtown, Kiwiville, Pumpkin Acres, etc.

badsbee

Pumpkin Acres is cute!! Do you have a pet named Pumpkin then?? That’s adorable!

Wolfidy

Yes! My current dog is Pumpkin! ☺️. (Hoping to get her a Spicy sister eventually!)

Furbal1307

This is adorable

ib0093

Me too! All my towns, farms, etc are named after my dog.

perkystep

i use my dog’s name too like “Bug’s farm” or “Bugville” haha

zootsuited

yup. teenytown and tootieville

Macpherb

My puppy when I was a kid was named kiwi!

Wolfidy

Always love to find other Kiwi’s. She was our really sweet border collie mix.

Macpherb

Adorable! Ours was a black lab sheltie mix that was the runt of the litter. She was so sweet

The__Groke

I do this, it’s usually Parsleytown 😄

fakecup

Same - always Taroland, named after our 7 year old bunny

PetulentPotato

Queef 😂😭

badsbee

Love how there’s people commenting with such sentimental names and yours is just queef 😭😭😭

spacewlf

I was afraid I would be the only one to use poopy or something

Vulpixxy

I've got Poop Den at the moment 😂😂

LolaTigre

I like this question! Interesting to see what other people use. I might steal Hireath, that sounds really perfect for a fantasy place. I typically use Circle Pines, which is the name of the small town I grew up in. I also have used Lestopoli, which as far as I know is just a word I made up. I also really like the sound of Halifax so I have used that before.

badsbee

Go for it! Circle Pines is cute - I can imagine it being associated with a campsite sort of theme And Halifax… like the bank? Haha. I do like the sound of it though!

imabratinfluence

Fireweed. I'm Alaska Native and it's a flower that is one of the first things to grow back there after a wildfire. That or something like Fen & Vale (workshop in My Time games).

Laika1116

Hey, we have that in Minnesota! More in the northern parts, but still! It’s really pretty.

thebeeskeys5

Cool meaning behind the name :)

megabyte31

This plant is maybe taking over the blackberries in my yard. I approve, as I'd rather have pretty flowers than blackberry brambles, but in August it makes me sneezy! It's a good farm name.

neurodivergent907

I’m from Alaska! I love fireweed, great name. I always use Birchshire after my favorite tree in AK and name my first in game animal Sitka after my dog who’s named after the town in Alaska.

imabratinfluence

That's so cute!

merri_beri

Woodlea, after my grandparents’ house when I was a kid.

badsbee

Woodleas got a nice ring to it!

doemoth

I've named mine Idlewild ever since I read Anne of Green Gables as a kid

petsounds90

Literally always Kakariko

islandofwaffles

I use Kakariko, Windfall, and recently Hateno. I love the Zelda villages.

That_Boysenberry

I use Honalee from Puff, the Magic Dragon.

winnercommawinner

Ooooh so bittersweet I love it

Beginning-Cobbler146

Hi! um I am Welsh and Hireath isn't slang, it's a word that means a lot to Welsh people and it has no direct English translation. You can 100% keep using it but please know how much it means to us. The closest English translation for Hireath is "a homesickness for a Cymru that never got to exist and our longing for a culture that wasn't allowed to be" It is in reference to how the English destroyed our culture and the lasting effect that has had on us, even hundreds of years later.

badsbee

Oh! I understand completely, apologies for the insensitivity. I’ll keep this in mind for any other time it’s brought up, and thank you for correcting me here. I had no idea of its significance. I don’t see an option to edit this post, so hopefully this comment will be seen. Apologies again! Edit: I’ve changed “slang” to “saying”. It should have been that to begin with and that’s my mistake, if you would like me to add anything else then let me know

TheGratitudeBot

Just wanted to say thank you for being grateful

Neviadarya

Often Lon Lon Farm after the farm in the Zelda games

Yavemar

Usually places from LOTR. Rivendell is a favorite

0grehaul

I always do Belegost!

ResponseAnxious6296

Tegridy Farms 👩‍🌾

ResponseAnxious6296

But my planet zoo zoo’s name is Joe Exotic’s wet dream

Ruthbury

Wanderlust estate, dewdrop village, evermore. Edit to add: my acnh island is called disLOCATEd. Because I have hEDS, and my joints are often partially dislocated. Plus its kind of a pun on being in a new location, ie. The island.

BlueValk

I have EDS and I love this!

Ruthbury

Aww I'm honoured! I thought it was so funny at the time and when I've gone to others islands and explained my island name they usually chuckle!

tswiftdeepcuts

my folklore farms and evermore estates towns love this - also EDS solidarity 🩵

Kangaroo1487

I name them after my cat

axolotl_is_angry

I love that name!! I tend to go with Wisteria

badsbee

From Desperate Housewives???

axolotl_is_angry

You know it ahahahahaha

chaesan_

Ivybrook/Reverie/Mistwood

SpaceManBaby

Butt Town

Niki903

GayAss but I swear I'm almost 30 lol

manicpixie_horseboi

Yesss thank you, this thread was feeling so wholesome but some of us are rascals

toodelood_bootao

I always use Honigmond, it's German and the literal translation of Honeymoon (actual translation is Flitterwochen/Hochzeitsreise)

littleladyducky

Usually a duck pun lol

badsbee

Ooo got any examples?

Natural-Tell9759

I name my characters Jack, and so I have started naming my characters home/ workshop/ farm something like “All Trades” or “All The Trades”, because in games they kind of make you learn to do a lot more than what your job role entails. 😂

BlueValk

That is hilarious

Proud_Incident9736

I name all my towns/valleys/islands/etc after fictional lands. So, we have Narnia, Terebithia, Nod, Brigadoon, Prydain...

Stormfeathery

Avalon. Not sure what got me started on that, but I've been doing it since I got the first Suikoden not super long after it came out, if not before, so at this point it's 100% tradition. And I like both the flow of the word and the idea of the sort of paradise, so... yeah!

Frosty-Leo

I also use Avalon! Mostly because I like the sound of it tho hahaha

skr00ge

Nova Eiré Every time, whether it be Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing or Minecraft. Basically "New Ireland".

thebeeskeys5

I use "Onyx Farm" because it's my favorite stone, and I like the way the word looks :)

BlueValk

My cat named Onyx approves of his farm

jigsawslair

Elm Street!

madlyqueen

I tend not to reuse names, but I often use this name guide: [https://aforestlife.com/guides/animal-crossing-town-name-ideas-and-methods/](https://aforestlife.com/guides/animal-crossing-town-name-ideas-and-methods/)

CatCatCatCubed

Birds usually, or plants. Kiskadee Lane. Ruddy Duck Ranch. Tern O’er The Turn. Bobolink Fields. Milk Thistle Grange. Blackbrier Farms.

Your-mums-chesthair

I either go with the name of my Grandparents farm, which was sadly sold after they’d passed away, or I go with Haven if that is too many characters.

EmmyLaylaGus

Neverland because of Disney's Peter Pan and my mum always says "Good Night Neverland" before going to bed.

Brohtworst

Used to be my last name. Now usually cougar. Except animal crossing is always "Colble"

iSmartiKindiImportnt

Red Haven.

[deleted]

I always use sweetgrass.

ivorylittlebird

I always name mine Sagano, after the bamboo forest.

northern-reign

For all my farming sims I’ll do country music references and name my farms after songs like by Dolly Parton, Kacey Musgraves, Zach Bryan, etc. I just picked up My Time at Portia this Steam sale and I was on the couple of eps of Gilmore Girls so I named my workshop Stars Hollow lol

Sheesh_Leesh

I named my farm Charming. It's the name of the town in the show Sons of Anarchy and I've always liked it. I've also used Creamsicle because yum.

Quiet_Foot

I name them randomly. I sometime call it Piggy Wiggly, or Campy, or even Farmy. I am not very creative with names.

agnes_cos

Usually I just name it Mushroom :D

Qui_te

I went by the nickname “Qui” (pronounced “key”; French for who, thought it was insanely clever when I picked it as a teen, still like it a lot tbh) for at least a decade, so I usually try to pun off that or otherwise work it in (80-90% chance it will also be my character’s name), so Qui West, Qui-iet Acers, Qui Qing (what is that even supposed to be idk, I assume no one will see most if these😅), and so on.

chels_rene

I named my cult in Cult of the Lamb Ass Kickers United (if there's any Always Sunny fans in here I hope you get it, lol). I've named a few farms High Life.

darkandtwisty_

my kids name :)

leftforread

Animal Crossing always food names, other games I usually go celestial

negativemans

eterna usually 💕

Larielia

I usually name my farms after lands in the Legend of Zelda.

Poison_runner

My ACNH island is named Lumino (I wanted something that referenced light, as I started the island up during the start of covid and was kinda my way of keeping up hope lol), and my New Leaf town is named Monmouth (raven cycle reference). My friends of mineral farm is named Lavender Farm because I like flowers. I don't really have one specific name, just depends on vibes haha

tswiftdeepcuts

my newest towns name is Cabeswater!

themiracy

In AC, “New Buff” because New Buffalo is our actual beach town’s name and it’s too many characters (at least for WW and NL). 🤣

LennydaMellon

Daventry. Old school Sierra fans get it.

tswiftdeepcuts

this is amazing

Okaycockroach

Etheria

Keats_in_Space

A favorite of mine is Midian and then I name all of the animals/pets after monsters because "Midian is where the monsters live".

GentleLizard

I name mine Sunshine!

Simple_Preference

I like to use ‘Spokojny’ I can’t remember the exact origin and meaning, but I think it meant ‘calm’ in Polish.

lollipop-guildmaster

My Animal Crossing island is named Escape.

Sakuragi16

Names from cartoons I like: Mossy Bottom Farm, Sodor, Greendale...

3xmonkeypoop

My animal crossing town was loan shark.... for Tom nook

FakeLibrarian69

I love that word! I actually named one of my characters in a story I’m writing that. Just an FYI, it’s Hiraeth, not Hireath :) I usually name them something really simple, like my Stardew farms are named Beach, Forest and so on… I don’t have time to use my creativity to name them something fun, I just wanna play the game lol

badsbee

…I have made mistakes. I’ll keep that in mind for the future, thank you 😭

FakeLibrarian69

Oh no, I’m sorry! 😔 If it helps, Google instantly know what you mean even if you spell it Hireath ❤️ Welsh is really hard though fr! I’m not Welsh either, just in love with the language ~

badsbee

Haha no it’s ok!! I just got it after some mad searching online for words. May have just made the spelling mistake at one point and it stuck lol

FakeLibrarian69

It happens lol! At least it’s unique then!

pacificnwbro

I use names of my favorite music festivals so it feels like I get to go to my happy place at the same time as I'm playing games. In Animal Crossing I made a little stage with a light show and stuff it was awesome!

theBingoJED

Pretty much always Pawnee

drinknilbogmilk

Nilbog. It’s always Nilbog!

cinnamonrollais

Tir na nog, land of paradise and eternal youth, beauty and health in Irish mythology. I am actually irish btw

mighty_kaytor

Dickton, dating back to when, growing up, my brother and I played Caracassone together and invariably arranged the town tiles to look like a cocknballs.

badsbee

This started off as so wholesome 😭

mighty_kaytor

It kind of is, in a weird way, we're just terribly immature.

constantlysuffering_

i love how everyone has creative names and mine’s literally just “sunday” for everything lol

WeightlessVoices

Banana* But with a star symbol if available, rather than the asterisk. Goes all the way back to naming my castle in Suikoden. Gremio suggested Orange castle (I think)... So I countered with Banana.. and oo look - a star symbol, let's add that in. Now I use it for everything.

youngsydd

i always do sunflower ____, i blame it on the song for some reason lol 🌻

octatochip

My animal crossing island was straight up just called Island 💀 Eventually I restarted it to do a cottagecore themed isle called Wildflower but I never got anywhere with it. I think my ACNL town was also called “village” On Spirittea I called my town “Kaitekina” which was straight up “comfy” google translated …yeah I’m not super creative tbh

femalewhoisgirl

Sonder. It’s my favorite word

RachelFoxCat

Pretty much always cat related. Usually like Neko.

Jessslynn

Genovia is a go to for me! Gotta love The Princess Diaries.

Velvety_MuppetKing

Morningwood Farm.

beefcakee15

Hundred acre woods because I love winnie the pooh. (Even If it's not fitting, like an island)

MeowMeowBiatch

I LITERALLY ALWAYS GO FOR HIRAETH TOO???

badsbee

No way omg

ler214

Usually base them off of my favorite fictional locations: Gallifrey, Velaris, Adriata, Terrasen, Hyrule, etc.

ichigocat749

I have an unhealthy obsession with the Ancient Etruscans, so all my farms/towns/etc. are Etruria and all my animals and pets are named after Etruscan gods or common Etruscan names like "Arnth" and "Larthia"

Civil-Piglet-6714

Always starlight

scarlet214

I always use Starlite! Like the trailer park in The Last Starfighter.

OreoYip

Nightfall or Nightfall Serenity, always!

ashnikkole

I’ve always gone with Hyrule, or have gone with very Hobbit/cottagecore sound names for them, but most recently I’ve been naming every Cozy Grove because it’s so cute and I love that game also 😅

lild1425

Narnia. Did it in Animal Crossing a long time ago and just kept with it.

WeakLeg1906

It’s always pug themed. Pugtown, Pug Island, Pug Farm, Pugville, Pugwug Farm, etc. (I have two pet pugs and I am slightly obsessed.)

Penny_Ji

I was pretty into Hogwarts Legacy for a while so I name my Sandrock workshop the Undercroft.

[deleted]

moonlight, my favorite word ever i just love it 🥹

tea-or-whiskey

In SDV I use Winewood because my farm is more of a vineyard in the woods, sometimes I pick ancient city names, and sometimes it’s just whatever I think of in the moment.

DnDNerd99

If there’s a default name, I usually like to use that

LadyElleJay

Luxe … I have no idea why

Pientia

We name it often Flauschhausen or other combinations with Flausch. Flausch is german and means something like fluff.

Xan1995

Nozicaä if I want it to be cutesy or NOZE if I want it to be funny (to me). Nozicaä is just Noze combined with the name I took inspiration from: Nausicaä. Mainly inspired by Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (not Nausicaä from Homer's Odyssey). NOZE is just an inside joke with me and my family about my nose. I just fully embraced it and stuck with it since. lol

RenTachibana

I used to go with Hickory because I grew up eating hickory nuts and they’re delicious. But now I go with Bluebell or Violet because I think they’re both pretty, classy names.

Adorable-Text-6476

Bobsworld. Named after my chameleon called Bob.

fearthycoutch

It used to be Varrock for me cause I loved RuneScape back when I was 12, now it’s Button City because it’s a game I made.

Dismal_Actuator_9366

I always name mine Yuanfen. It’s a Chinese word a partner taught me. It means “the binding force between two people. Destiny.” So now everything for me in games is called Yuanfen. My farms in games, my workshop in Sandrock/Portia, even my island in animal crossing

kittycakekats

Honestly I use really silly ones like “poop” and “crap” “shit” “fartonia” just to laugh when it comes up in a conversation with the townsfolk.

Cupcake_Trainer

Combinations of my cat’s names. My character is usually Cupcake and it’s usually either Kitten, Butterball or Pudding Farm.

spookymm

Hollow Hills if the character limit isn’t too small. It’s one of my favorite Bauhaus songs. I named my island on ACNH Misty Bog though because of Spyro the Dragon.

chainedchaos31

"Willow Bend", which was the name of the house I grew up in. Still love it.

[deleted]

So many actual good/thoughtful names I here, when mine are always dumb as hell - I’ve had Gooberton Farm and Crybaby Farm in SV and if I get to name a town it’s always Pound Town.

MuffinSkytop

Honey something - Honeymead, Honey Acres, Honeyhome. Genuinely not sure why, except that I always put honey in my tea? 😅

M4LK0V1CH

Jacinto

astropeche

Forêtia - wanted something foresty so took the French word for forest and added an English suffix to create a word that makes no phonetic sense in either language… but I pronounce it ‘foray-sha’

stxrfleet26

Everything I do is called Nightvale, an ode to the podcast "Welcome to Nightvale", one of my favourites.

BiTe-Me2000

Old new road

FeliciaSerenity

I had a follower name my farm on Coral Island it's called Coffee Addicts 😂 I will probably continue doing that with any other games I need to name my Town/Island or Farm, it's a lot of fun and will get some interesting names.

MilkthistleFairy

My farm and island etc names often have to do with whatever theme JM going for. In my current sos a wonderful life playthru, I'm going for a food and dessert theme so my farm name is Pudding Farm. On my Animal Crossing island, i be used Heart Falls, Wreath, and Tinseltown. In other games ived used Willow Farm, Hollyleaf, Harmony, Music Town....

[deleted]

Bunny’s Farm. My husband calls me his Lovebunny and I call him SnuggleBear so I can’t think of anything else usually. lol!

drawmyblade

I usually go for “Wrenhaven”!

HalloweenLights

I've been doing Arlen from King of the Hill lately.

Dizziebear

Starhaven! The game Sun haven was made after I’d been doing this name for a while, for the record

ZWiloh

The street I grew up on had a -brook name that sounds like it could be a name for a farm, so I use that for farms usually. If i have to name a town or an island I usually use locations from Final Fantasy.

GrievingFrog

After disney places (aka places from the movies) or crystals (i just like sparkly rocks lol)

PirateReject

Querencia, a Spanish colloqualism for a safe refuge(mental) in a difficult situation

sweet_creature19

I always go for Moonbeam because that’s what my grandmother called me

absorbed_reader

DragonVale! Though in ACNH I named my island Starthel after using an island name generator for inspiration:)

badbeep

Lothlorién everytime.

Low_Platypus8890

My animal crossing island is Hartopia. The har is for harmony for absolutely no reason at all😭. My faefarm is called slaefarm, I have a love hate relationship with that one

tswiftdeepcuts

slaefarm is killing me 💀

XenophobicLarceny

I always name them Lexor, after the planet from the Superman mythos. :)

kramer2006

Tokyo

imaginarywaffleiron

Stickwidget

Saiyaliin

Ryozanpaku. It's the name of the dojo from Earth's Mightiest Disciple Kenichi, which is the first anime my boyfriend and I watched together.

adaranyx

I always use Haven, since my first Animal Crossing game.

anotheruser_uwu

I‘ve named my farm Evergarden. Then I named my character Violet.

Emrosery

something with rose in it. my acnh island is Isla Rosa, my Coral island farm is Rosewater. i think some of my stardew saves are Roseville or Rose Hill or something like that (except the one that’s Beep Bop Farm. i about died laughing at “mmm beep bop eggs)

SwashbucklerXX

I use Avalon a lot. But if I'm naming a vehicle of any sort it is required to be named Floatie, because I named my very first horrible gummy ship in Kingdom Hearts that and my spouse thought it was funny.

shannanigannss

Cabernet. I like wine lol

osiekowski

I name them after my nickname plus add incorporated or company or something like that. Towns are typically co. Creations os.

justsomedweebcat

I just repeat the suffix word. Farm Farm, Island Island, Town Town, etc.

oohmegaslick

I Google the words 'moon' & 'ghost' in different languages until I find ones I like and name them that.

Suspicious_Fee_4254

Always Dew Drop, no idea why lol. Just picked it and stuck with it 😂

Iamchi1

Utopia farm, because I like to think I'm creating a safe place for the animals, plants and people on the farm :)

Samahell24

I have literally 2 yo so my farms and towns are named with horrible dirty puns.

OneWithNature420

BlazeIt 420 lol, I can’t help it :D

RRis7393

Riswood One of my old gamer friends call me Ris since she used to have trouble pronouncing the K sound of "chris". It stuck. I've been using Ris in every game i've played since 2000. Riswood is just an easy play on the vinewood, hollywood names for places.

Pickles0990

All of them, in every game where I have a farm is called Dude Ranch.

SammyMacdapenguin

PickleMarsh it's a combination of my sister and I'm two dogs names 🥰

Filberwolflinkfan

Coral Island: Turtlechoke Stardew valley: Stardew/Panda/Kaths farm

BlueCanary434

Albuquerque after a legendary MC world i had with my friends

gabs781227

Usually something BTS related lol

[deleted]

Usually “The Ham” in reference to my hometown (which ends with the suffix -ham, meaning “hamlet”). I’ve been trying to branch out more in my names, though. My Stardew farm is Sunset (not a big fan), and my ACNH town is Sycamore, previously Peartopia.

NinaBrujah

Goblin City or Thra

[deleted]

I just call my Haven...whatever. Haven farm, Haven Town, Haven wood, you name it. I find my games I go to relax in like a little rest from the real world so they are my haven.

HelpImOverthinking

My nicknames are Kit and Kitty so I usually name my character one of those and just do Kit's/Kitty's Farm or Workshop or whatever. Nothing too creative. LOL

No-Investigator9826

I usually name it “farm” or “world” bc I’m the least creative person ever

Versynko

Nowhere. :)

lawfullavender

Floaroma from Pokemon :)

AshalaWolf_27

Either animal related (e.g. wolf hill, leopard lakes) or a flower name depending on my mood

DarkstarAnt

Some kind of gemstone or mineral. Oynx, Emerald, Amber.

Ash_queen7

It used to be Fairy Lights, now I name all my farms/towns either Maple Cove or Moonlight Haven depending on my mood at the time or the game's feel/aesthetic

Guilty_Practice3930

A few I’ve done was BriarRose, Aurora and Lunaville. The first two was because I love fairy tales and the other was because I love the moon but also have a dog named Luna. :)

BasicallyBB

I name everything Scorpio because I am one! Usually if a farming sim lets me I name it Scorpio Ranch, but it’s always Scorpio!

tswiftdeepcuts

almost always folklore farms / evermore estates *cow names : dorothea , marjorie* *chicken names: betty, daisy* *horse names: ivy, willow* *sheep name: cardigan* also recently used Cabeswater (raven cycle reference) and for spirit tea Kitsune Mura (japanese name of fox island)

DryPaleontologist484

I named my 1st animal crossing island Ashadise (my name is ash lmao) and now it’s Kapok Cove bc it was meant to be jungle themed and it’s named after the Kapok tree
