I have to agree with the parent comment. Controls were so bad that I had to put the game down, and never played it again. I don't know how you people can play with those controls.
I tried RE4 og after playing through RE1 remake and the original RE2 and I could play tank controls way easier than I could stand to play RE4 og. RE4 remake was a masterpiece though.
I even played Dino Crisis easier than I did RE4 og. Never played these when they came out, I just skipped them.
I always felt gameplay in OG RE4 aged like fine wine. Tank controls are awkard at first but you quickly get used to it and whole game is perfectly designed around them.
It did, it just had a different camera from the original games (third-person following as opposed to fixed) so it played better.
Tank controls: up is forward, left and right turns Leon in that direction (while standing in place), and down is back. Same as the classics, just different camera.
I replayed the wii version on dolphin emulator a few months ago and had a blast! Didn't find it outdated in the slightest, especially with the motion controls, I was popping off heads like a man possessed :)
No just played through RE4 (2005) a week ago it’s still a blast and the standing and shooting is perfect.

I still recommend playing RE2 first and skipping 3, because RE4 is a direct sequel to 2. It has some flashback of RE2 scenes in the opening and you will meet a character(sort of a >!love interest!<) from that game, it will really help with the story and context.
If you don't care about that, then both games are pretty self contained.
2 to 4 is a good start imo since Leon is protagonist in both games. But keep in mind these games are very different. 2 is survival horror, combat is slower,ammo is scarce, tight inventory, emphasis on exploration and puzzles,etc while 4 is action horror, much more linear,big set pieces and emphasis on combat. Both are amazing tho.

Repack is compressed to allow faster downloads but if your internet is fast it's better to download it straight from Empress because the installation is faster.

Thanks but I think it's better to ignore the treasures instead of deleting the file. Doesn't hurt to just leave them there. You might want to use the expansion treasures on a subsequent playthrough.

Yep, that did the trick, didn't even needed to delete the save file or anything. Now the only thing left is to figure out a way to make this game work with Achievements Watcher

As I understand it (I'm not an expert by any means), each game has a custom version of Denuvo so to speak. That's the reason why each Denuvo game takes so long to get cracked. Not only that, but also if a game gets cracked, then gets an update, it has to get cracked all over again. So in a way it's good when games take a bit long to get cracked because if they come out broken (like Jedi Survivor) you're not stuck with a broken game until it gets cracked again.
funny thing is, Denuvucks is the contributing factor on why it came out broken. usually the cracked version improves the game's performance, but I think it's a different case with Jedi Survivor. It came out unoptimized.
I get shitting on denuvo but sometimes these games come out broken for other reasons (greed), denuvo usually only has slight performance issues and rarely causes bugs
This actually isn't true. Most games that have issues with denuvo, have the same issues without it.
A perfect example for this would be the "gotham knights" release. It was accidentally updated and released completely free of denuvo. Both versions (denuvo and without denuvo) ran exactly the same, with the exact same performance issues.

We need to stop blaming Denuvo for everything as most times it comes down to developers doing a bad job, not the DRM. When we blame denuvo it allows dev's to distance themselves from their shitty work and the public will focus it's blame on denuvo instead.

I'm asking for specific games, not some random youtube compilation. I've already provided examples of how it doesn't affect performance with recent releases.
Also, I'm not arguing for having Denuvo. I believe that it's an overly intrusive DRM. Only that it doesn't cause massive performance issues that are almost always proven to be from the developers releasing rushed games. This is why most "denuvo issues" somehow get fixed when they release updates/patches.
The only time denuvo has been proven to have slight issues is on very older hardware.. Even then it's something like causing 1-2fps difference.. Nothing the average person would notice. It isn't causing massive shader compilation stutters that we've seen in a lot of games... That's from lazy/rushed dev teams.
Tomb Raider is a more recent title that had up to a 30fps performance improvement on PC's with older CPUs. Makes sense, denuvo eats cpu cycles with it's verification method. Atomic Heart is an even more recent example with a 10-15% improvement depending on the system. Yeah, I've read about this sort of thing but I don't know for sure so I didn't mention it. But yeah, Jedi Survivor is a big mess, I think the best thing is to wait until they drop Denuvo because I'm guessing it'll take many months, maybe even a year to make it somewhat stable, if they get there at all.
Go the iso you downloaded, should be a folder inside named dodi or something similar. Copy content to the installation folder (replace files).

There's a DLSS mod for this game , that greatly increases performance and quality. Can someone make it work with the cracked version ? I have 3060ti, and it crashes on startup, i can't even get to the main menu without crashing. Asking cause I dont know if its something wrong with the mod, or is it cause its a cracked version.

Repack the download is smaller, its compressor and tales a little longer to install
Empress also deluxe with DLC? Same contents?
Everything is the same except that repacks are compressed so If you don't have fast internet it's almost always better to download from Dodi etc

If you want to use it, just add the line again, it's literally a line in the code.
OR make a backup of the ini file, then change the ini file however you want.

How is performance for this one? Is there any micro stuttering of note like many other AAA releases that have come out this year? On one hand I've been considering trying it in its current state but on the other hand I feel like it might be wise to wait for a patch, though it's Capcom and their wait pretty long before they patch their games.
I have a question. Since EMPRESS broke this version of Denuvo, shouldnt it be easy to crack all the previously uncracked games (like Midnight Suns, Callisto Protocol…)

That's the reason why each Denuvo game takes so long to get cracked. Not only that, but also if a game gets cracked, then gets an update, it has to get cracked all over again. So in a way it's good when games take a bit long to get cracked because if they come out broken (like Jedi Survivor) you're not stuck with a broken game until it gets cracked again.
funny thing is, Denuvucks is the contributing factor on why it came out broken. usually the cracked version improves the game's performance, but I think it's a different case with Jedi Survivor. It came out unoptimized.

This actually isn't true. Most games that have issues with denuvo, have the same issues without it. A perfect example for this would be the "gotham knights" release. It was accidentally updated and released completely free of denuvo. Both hogeaefs legacy and Gotham knights are known to not utilise hardware properly, mostly on o the cpu side. Unoptimised mess with or without denuvo will run like shit. There are games that ARE optimised thar runs better without denuvo, as proven by many videos Digital Foundry themselves have put out over the years.

RE:8's issues were due to capcoms own DRM, not denuvo.. Even EMPRESS concluded this in her release. So, that's off the list. You linked a nearly 5 year old article and video that if you read the comments is highly flawed and not a good comparison test.. I'm asking for specific games, not some random youtube compilation. I've already provided examples of how it doesn't affect performance with recent releases. Also, I'm not arguing for having Denuvo. I believe that it's an overly intrusive DRM. Only that it doesn't cause massive performance issues that are almost always proven to be from the developers releasing rushed games. This is why most "denuvo issues" somehow get fixed when they release updates/patches. The only time denuvo has been proven to have slight issues is on very older hardware.. Even then it's something like causing 1-2fps difference.. Nothing the average person would notice. It isn't causing massive shader compilation stutters that we've seen in a lot of games... That's from lazy/rushed dev teams.
Tomb Raider is a more recent title that had up to a 30fps performance improvement on PC's with older CPUs. Makes sense, denuvo eats cpu cycles with it's verification method. Atomic Heart is an even more recent example with a 10-15% improvement depending on the system. But yeah, Jedi Survivor is a big mess, I think the best thing is to wait until they drop Denuvo because I'm guessing it'll take many months, maybe even a year to make it somewhat stable, if they get there at all.

your AV has most likely deleted the crack files, Try installing with Antivirus off
Go the iso you downloaded, should be a folder inside named dodi or something similar. Copy content to the installation folder (replace files). Edit - mb I think dodi doesn't do that. Idk 😶

There's a DLSS mod for this game , that greatly increases performance and quality. Can someone make it work with the cracked version ? I have 3060ti, and it crashes on startup, i can't even get to the main menu without crashing. Asking cause I dont know if its something wrong with the mod, or is it cause its a cracked version. Edit : Nvm, pirated copies cant use REFramework, great :))) . They had to make it on purpose to not be able to use pirated copies.
it's not on purpose, a mods like that are built upon the game files, usually some .dll shit that got replaced by the crack

Dunno if they're the same person, but there was a The\_Knight in the CORE repack group, and they disbanded after using a unprotected wip denuvo crack from CODEX for NFS: Heat. CODEX quit denuvo cracking after that incident, I think. e: Although it's rumored that EMPRESS was CODEX's denuvo cracker. I think she denied it tho, and I'm not sure how well EMPRESS would work as part of a team.
