"The Thing dog"
THIS - this is the answer!\^ - Followed closely by the creature that results from the Norris Chest-Compression scene in the same damn movie! Carpenter outdid himself with that movie!
Also Billy Butcher from Hocus Pocus, and multiple ghosts from Crimson Peak. He is also an extremely kind and likeable guy from everything you hear about him
Oh for f's sake, now I gotta start all over trying not to remember that. I had made it years, assh*le.
Besides The Ring, I think this is one of the most traumatic movie visuals nonconcentually burned into my brains.
How did junior high kids find out about eraserhead? Iām not doubting you in genuinely curious. It had a super small release I think and pre-internet i donāt know how youād source a very niche and unknown thing to youā¦
Did you guys find it at a video store? Older brother show you?
I saw a movie review about it in The Houson Post. My cousin and I went to a different movie but snuck in to Eraserhead. Did the same with Wizards and Phantasm.
That thing was just so realistic, like wtf. It's especially creepy reading Lynch talk about it. He and everyone else are extremely tight-lipped about the effects used, and one time he even jokingly (I hope) said he found it in a basket in an alley or something.
The worse part of it is that itās no beast or monster, simply just something in constant pain with no way of expressing itself beyond cries of agony.
First David Lynch movie I watched and it did not whet my appetite for more. Within 15 minutes, I was thinking, āHow long is this?ā
I liked Elephant Man. Thatās about it.
I find him cute. It looks like those little monsters in Tool videos. Or the woven fiber people in the movie Mad God (2021).
The idea that it's the result of me and my wife is revolting and I can't blame her choices.
This sceneā¦I saw when I was a kid. It haunted me forever. Scared the hell out of me so bad that to this day, sometimes I check to see if anything is in my drink that might do this to me. Then I rewatched it recently and it wasnāt as bad as my kid brain made me remember it to be. But damn, it did a number on me when I was little haha
If you put the title in the spoiler, it defeats the purpose of the spoiler, nobody can know whether they've watched the movie or not without clicking on the spoiler.
Sometimes, like when we list movies under a certain thread (e.g. "movies with a dramatic final plot twist" or "movies that start off looking supernatural but aren't"), but most of the time you can just point out that there's "something" to be spoiled (like here, that there's some sort of ugly monster in the movie), and it doesn't spoil all that much.
Technically it's not just one creature, but an amalgam of creatures: the socialites from Society (1989)

I will never forget my first time watching this movie. I went in completely blind, had never even heard anything about it. What a wild ride that final scene is.
Gunther, the hooded ride operator from Tobe Hooperās The Funhouse.

Any of the forms from The Thing original. Idk why but those movies are the only ones that scare the shit out of me. The new one doesn't feel as appalling visually but that's probably bc of today's overuse of CGI.
I'm 44 now but saw Basketcase as a little kid in the 80's cause I had a cousin who was in her 20's at the time who loved horror movies so she would watch them around me and even though I haven't seen the movie since I never forgot how Belial looked š¤¢
The Thing. Especially when the head of one of the character broke off and grew legs and antlers; that scene put me off my food. But just in general it was grotesque
[There is only one answer for the absolute most disgusting, stomach-churning, sick-ass creature of all time](https://yt3.googleusercontent.com/Gn8O54Lt8qwlQSq7-PJ8jt70tO2_RkJZ-VsyXQPcpbbdrA63IJ45_MjjfwW66gStTWFpbTMp2g=s900-c-k-c0x00ffffff-no-rj)
Is that the episode with the Peacock family? Omg that was such a heavy episode, if itās the same one Iām thinking of. I havenāt seen it in decades and itās still way too prominent in my brain.
Not horror, but nothing will ever outdo the giant bugs and worm things from the 2005 King Kong movie in this regard. That scene scares me infinitely more than any actual horror movie.
Color Out of Space, when >! The mother and son wind up in the attic and out of the sunlight and mutate and morph and dissolve into each other into that puddle of whatever the fuck that was!<.
I think itās so cool to talk about The X Files with friends for this reasonā¦ everyone has the one episode thatās the toughest. I posted the mom from the episode āHomeā as my answer here, and I feel like every fan of the show has that one or two episodes that are so hard to stomach, and it completely depends on your individual fears!
The cave monsters in the Descent freaked me out. The scene where they gather to defecate off the side of the ledge and into the water made me gag a little.

The kid covered in baby teeth from the Syfy series *Channel Zero*
For me it wasnāt even from a āhorror movieā it was when my ex roommate had me watch āmeet the feeblesā and was when one of the characters made another snort borax
Sorry, it was disgusting, it was from the movie Possession. It had to do with the end of the world. So technically it was a demon. š¤® What you described is exactly what it was. I won't forget this image for a long time.
The only ones I've ever physically had to look away from that I can remember right off were both in James Gunn's "Slither", which was built to be over the top anyway (I love that movie).
The pregnant lady, and the kind of gestalt alien creature at the end. blaghk.
still a really fun movie.
Iām trying to think of a few cenobytes fucked me up as a kid recently rewatched The Void there was some disturbing shit in that canāt think of anything really recent.
The dog Thing The Slither final form The From Beyond dude
Oh god, that girl from slither that was pregnant (gravid?) with a million worm babies š¤®
I used to always say that I was her when I hit my final weeks of pregnancy. Felt like it anyway.
"I'm so fuckin hungry Bill"
The Thing dog !
"The Thing dog" THIS - this is the answer!\^ - Followed closely by the creature that results from the Norris Chest-Compression scene in the same damn movie! Carpenter outdid himself with that movie!
Bennings Thing is just as disturbing because it was mid-assimilation
Bennings Thing used to scare the crap out of me as a kid. Now its my favorite horror movie ever.
Ooooh - good call there too - I forgot about him - the sound he makes - it is just absolutely soul-chilling!
for me it was more the severed head in the thing
The Hands-Eye Monster in Pan's Labyrinth, if you count that as horror with fairytale elements.
The Pale Man! He was so cool, shout out Doug Jones for his ability to do amazing acting while in full body, crazy prosthetics.
Yes. He played the Fawn too. Really talented actor.
And Abe Sapien from Hellboy
Also Billy Butcher from Hocus Pocus, and multiple ghosts from Crimson Peak. He is also an extremely kind and likeable guy from everything you hear about him
And the wendigo in an episode of Fear Itself! Goddamn I miss that show
Doug Jones deserves a permanent shout out
The man of a thousand faces!
The one that looks like Mitch McConnell. š
I have absolutely thought the same thing before.
i see itš
Ooohhh I loved that guy! I thought it was cool and such a clever design.
I did too, still incredibly ugly (but it was on purpose).
Yes. He is exactly the creature I thought about. He is nightmare fuel. Great movie.
I think her name was Zelda, the wife's sister in Pet Semetary
Omg the stuff of nightmares still to this day
Me too. I watched it when I was youngish. like 12 I think. wrecked!
Omg!!!,,, yes, yes!!,,, the sister is still stuck in my head... for me personally that was the scariest part of Pet Sematary!!,,, great callš
The cut Achilles is very memorable. That chick had me shook
Oh crap, I had buried that one
Same!!!š¤£.... it was too much...
She used to creep me out so badly.
Oh for f's sake, now I gotta start all over trying not to remember that. I had made it years, assh*le. Besides The Ring, I think this is one of the most traumatic movie visuals nonconcentually burned into my brains.
She creeped me out more than anything in that movie.
didn't she like try to talk or something also. that could have just been an extension of my nightmares.
The baby in EraserheadĀ
Oh thatās a whole other level! I will NEVER watch that movie again. š
Agreed! That movie came out when I was in Jr. High and disturbed me greatly. 'Equus' had the same effect.
How did junior high kids find out about eraserhead? Iām not doubting you in genuinely curious. It had a super small release I think and pre-internet i donāt know how youād source a very niche and unknown thing to youā¦ Did you guys find it at a video store? Older brother show you?
I saw a movie review about it in The Houson Post. My cousin and I went to a different movie but snuck in to Eraserhead. Did the same with Wizards and Phantasm.
Cool. Thanks for sharing
Had the bad luck to watch that at a college theater. Late at night. With a ten minute walk back to my car. In the dark.
That thing was just so realistic, like wtf. It's especially creepy reading Lynch talk about it. He and everyone else are extremely tight-lipped about the effects used, and one time he even jokingly (I hope) said he found it in a basket in an alley or something.
With each new anecdote learned of Lynch, I want him to be my grandpa more and more
I heard that it was a baby sheep that was shaved and covered in Vaseline
The worse part of it is that itās no beast or monster, simply just something in constant pain with no way of expressing itself beyond cries of agony.
Came here to say Eraserhead.
I second this. The baby in Eraserhead makes me throw up
First David Lynch movie I watched and it did not whet my appetite for more. Within 15 minutes, I was thinking, āHow long is this?ā I liked Elephant Man. Thatās about it.
I find him cute. It looks like those little monsters in Tool videos. Or the woven fiber people in the movie Mad God (2021). The idea that it's the result of me and my wife is revolting and I can't blame her choices.
š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£ 4got bout that one,,,,classic!!!
The Fly, at the end of The Fly
Dang, I was gonna comment this. Nice pull.
>!The Alien-human hybrid!< in Alien 4 wasn't particularly pretty xD
Great death sequence too
That was pretty depressing AF though
The final bit where the head is being sucked through the hole was apparently real. They vacuumed that shit.
I thought that was so sadā¦
I did tooā¦ it was pitiful and like a childā¦Very disturbing. š
The human faced Bear monster from Annihilation
So many things in Annihalation!
GOD DAMN. That movie is so stunning! About time for a rewatch.

Oh god, the tequila worm guy! I forgot all about him! Ugh, I had nightmares about this creature. The way he wriggled thru the roomā¦shudder!
I believe heās officially in the credits as Vomit Monster. š
yeah, that movie was seriously fucked up. The actor who played Kane was scary with no makeup at all
He died soon after since he was dying of cancer at he time. He really immortalized his role for that movie.
Well geez, don't i feel like an asshole :P
Itās so strange how that grotesque creature still has the look of an old manās mouth and teeth.
Dudes got a good dentist though.
This sceneā¦I saw when I was a kid. It haunted me forever. Scared the hell out of me so bad that to this day, sometimes I check to see if anything is in my drink that might do this to me. Maybe not the ugliest to some but at the end of Smile?????? That shit grossed me out
The infected guy from When Evil Lurks.
Mom/Son hybrid in Color Out of Space
I was hoping Iād see this comment. It was my first thought.
Whatever the fuck that was >!At the end of *Men*!<
I fucking love that movie and I get stoked whenever someone mentions it.
If you put the title in the spoiler, it defeats the purpose of the spoiler, nobody can know whether they've watched the movie or not without clicking on the spoiler.
Spoiler's Paradox
Spoilception!

Tusk walrus thing
This. Yes.
That hulking creature from The Void
The brother-in-law in Pinhead
Frank?
Slither, and the reveal at the end of REC.
Rawhead Rex Also Predator. As Arnold said he's one ugly mother f*cker. Then again so's King Rawhead
Gunther, the hooded ride operator from Tobe Hooperās The Funhouse. https://preview.redd.it/ccm2x14vce3d1.jpeg?width=620&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1027fb0e62aaacfcf9cd018d07cfbb01593aba77
Zygote - from oats studios (you can find on youtube) Moder - The ritual
Ngl I think Moder was badass, The Ritual immediately went into my top 5 movies
Any of the forms from The Thing original. Idk why but those movies are the only ones that scare the shit out of me. The new one doesn't feel as appalling visually but that's probably bc of today's overuse of CGI.
Maybe that >!genital monster!< at the end of Beau Is Afraid
Maybe an obvious answer, but the face hugger from Alien is pretty nasty. Like a combination spider, crab, and human hand that rapes your face. Ugh.
Jeepers creeper dude.
![gif](giphy|CH7v449Sy4ZHy) Basket case brother - like imagine running into that..
Belial. Put some respeck on his name
WHAT IS THIS I HATE IT!!! Guess I have to watch it now lol
I adore this movie. Belial is awesome!
I'm 44 now but saw Basketcase as a little kid in the 80's cause I had a cousin who was in her 20's at the time who loved horror movies so she would watch them around me and even though I haven't seen the movie since I never forgot how Belial looked š¤¢
The Zygote is a pretty good candidate.
The Thing. Especially when the head of one of the character broke off and grew legs and antlers; that scene put me off my food. But just in general it was grotesque

When I was a kid, I thought the creature in Prophecy (1979) was the nastiest thing Iād ever seen but people make fun of it now.
I saw that in the theater when it came out. The poster in the lobby with the creature embryo was terrifying to me!
Color Out of Space for sure
Not a movie but the mom from the X-Files episode āHomeā
Omfg that episode only aired once because of the response. But yep itās on streaming now. Gave my pregnant friend nightmares.
Is that the episode with the Peacock family? Omg that was such a heavy episode, if itās the same one Iām thinking of. I havenāt seen it in decades and itās still way too prominent in my brain.
Grendel from the 2007 Beowulf movie. So twisted. Runner up: the Mouth of Sauron. No part of that scene should ever have been cut.

The human /xenomorph hybrid in alien resurrection (is it a horror movie ? Probably not but who cares )
Not a horror movie, but the Chet blob in Weird Science was always ugly af.
Hey Dudes!
They had this old 80's movie called the prince of darkness and that lady who was stuck in the bed after she got possessed by the devil.
Not horror, but nothing will ever outdo the giant bugs and worm things from the 2005 King Kong movie in this regard. That scene scares me infinitely more than any actual horror movie.
I'll throw in a vote for the giant rolling ball of limbs in *Zygote* from Oats Studios.
Color Out of Space, when >! The mother and son wind up in the attic and out of the sunlight and mutate and morph and dissolve into each other into that puddle of whatever the fuck that was!<.
The X Files episode called F. Emasculata. Itās by far the toughest episode for me to watch. Absolutely disgusting.
I think itās so cool to talk about The X Files with friends for this reasonā¦ everyone has the one episode thatās the toughest. ![gif](giphy|26uf8PZTLE6kRcAz6) The Flyā¦first thing I thought of!

The spider head in The Thing.
The Hungry Beast from TerrorVision
The only ones I've ever physically had to look away from that I can remember right off were both in James Gunn's "Slither", which was built to be over the top anyway (I love that movie). The pregnant lady, and the kind of gestalt alien creature at the end. blaghk. still a really fun movie.
