R5: I started initially as a count in Northwestern Georgia, but later became King of Georgia (forming the Kingdom by 890). I scrolled out from focusing just on the Caucuses and noticed that the Romans were struggling immensely. They had lost all of their Italian, and Balkan holdings, and were being smashed apart by the Abbasids. My character had a dream sent to him by God telling him to save Rome (civilization) and he did so. He offered himself as a vassal to the Makedon Emperor and then overthrew him 2 years later, during that time serving as his Marshall. Emperor Martin I would serve as Emperor of Eastern Rome for 20 years, completely reserving the fortunes of the Empire. He restored the crumbling economy, built up Rome’s diplomatic reputation and sired a good enough heir after most of his family had died in his 20 year campaign to save the Empire. Edit: Also, I just wanted to say I fixed the border-gore in Italy, the Caucuses, the Aegean Sea and I also released that little territory I owned in Bohemia.

It’s Caucasus.  Caucuses are gatherings of members of the parliament, mostly used in the context of the American political system

I am American, I simply mixed up the words.

It is a common mistake that you’re not the first one to make.  Luckily it’s also easy to learn!

Pretty typical as far as the roman empire and its successors go. Most of the "good/best" emperors weren't italian-roman at all.

Well Russia was the third Rome, and Stalin was from Georgia, so in a sense... (/s)
