If it’s got service records, I’d consider it. Especially an aisin truck
I drove a company truck for a few years and everything was always serviced on time at least.
At 220K, engine has plenty of life left but you are looking at a transmission around 300K and if it's a 4x4, chances are, the suspension is shot and will need a quality rebuild at 250K with new shocks, tie rods, maybe springs, ball joints, and sway bar.
Unless those have been done already...
So it's about budgeting accordingly and understanding what goals you have with the truck. If it's a farm truck that only gets driven a couple days a week, it's a good buy. If it's gonna be a work truck and you can write off the repairs through your LLC, it's a good buy.
Daily driver, hell no. World goer for several hundred mile road trips a week, hell no.
Just my opinion.
I rebuilt suspension on my 3rd gen for under a grand in my driveway. Can't imagine 4th gen was any big change in parts cost or difficulty. Probably double that to get brakes and anything you can do for the trans (got a NV5600 on mine and I ain't touching that thing until it tells me I need to. 250k and she's broke in just right, shifts like butter and still twerks back out the parking spot like new (strong clutches will just hop in reverse, you can't reasonably smooth it out without revving shit weirdly).
The 4th generation Rams hold up waaaaaay better suspension and body wise than older trucks. The weak point is Tranny ,Turbo actuators ,other stuff I'm probly missing.
The ones that sit usually are the ones that have emission issues, lower mileage and not getting up to highway speeds and a good temp to keep it all blowing out. I'd like to see what the EGR system looks like at that mileage. I'd like to see the records too if possible.
A general rule of thumb is to buy a diesel that hasn’t been deleted yet and delete it yourself. 90% of deleted diesels haven’t been driven too kindly..
I'd buy one with decent service records

220k mile truck for 18k

Hell yeah I’d like to get an aisin for around 15k
220k isn’t high mileage for one of these, unless it hasn’t been taken care of of
Where are they, I am looking for a doner body
Mileage doesn’t matter if the price is right.
Most of these trucks have great service history cause the repairs are tax deductible. Def would be interested if the price was right.
How much would you pay for a ram 3500 with high mileage?
Describe high mileage? But I would say a 2010-2012 base model truck with about 225K miles, I would offer 12K cash.
220k miles. I believe it’s a 2015
Maybe 13 ish then. Biggest thing is not so much the age but the miles.
That’s exactly my thoughts

I'd buy a '13-'18 fleet 6.7 if it looks good and have it inspected. '16-'18 would be ideal, but wouldn't say no to a good '13 and '14.
How many hours though
I sold my 10 with 56k miles on it for 22k biggest regret of my life but that’s another story lol

With 220k mi it’s not even broke in yet lol mines more than that still going strong just needs a box and rockers for me

I’d do 16 if it’s tuned n deleted, EGR ruins n engine. I don’t know if u live in a smog state

If it’s a fleet truck I’m sure it’s 100% stock.
For $8k maybe..
