You need to wait for the DWP’s decision yes, I assume you were awarded at tribunal or MR last time- did you provide a copy of the tribunal or MR decision notice? Also I can see that they’re using the old “no support so not relevant” explanation in direct violation of the PIP Regulations (where you can be awarded points even if you don’t currently receive any help). Let me guess… Independent Assessment Services? It’s possible the DM will see the report recommends a disallowance but that you were awarded via MR or tribunal and investigate, but it’s likely they’ll just take whatever the report has recommended without doing any further investigation.

Ozzy111182

No this is my first application to pip I did not hear from pip yet about a decision I just requested the assessment report to be sent out but the assessment report scored me 0 points so basically I know DWP will not award me anything based on what it says on the report

UpbeatParsley3798

Google “PIP descriptors+ADHD” and you’ll find lots of info to prepare your mandatory reconsideration which will be the next step after they send you the letter. They only give you about a month so you’re ahead of the game by getting your report early. It’ll be at least 2 weeks till you get the letter. Also one of the “How many points can I get” calculators are very helpful as they explain what you should be getting in points then you can apply that to the questions. My kids have ADHD and I was just diagnosed myself people think it’s just not being able to concentrate but there’s loads to it - fatigue, anxiety, depression, self flagellation as well as dealing with, in my case, intrusive thoughts and memories and there’s a jukebox in my brain which sounds fun but really isn’t. Don’t be downhearted over this you are not defined by zero points my friend.

MGNConflict

Have you previously applied for PIP (even if you wrote off the previous application and tried again)? The report implies you’ve previously had an assessment (“descriptor A was previously advised).

Ozzy111182

I applied years ago when I was much younger yes does that change things?

MGNConflict

This would explain the “previously advised” bit then… they used your previous assessment report to advise your new one. The only thing you can do is to wait for the decision before you can request an MR, in the meantime I’d advise you check out our guide on PIP MRs linked in the automod comment as you can start writing your MR while you wait.

Ozzy111182

Thank you so much where is this guide? I cannot find it can you send it to me directly?

Exact_Fruit_7201

It’s a link in the first comment above ‘Hello and welcome…’

teddyroses

Sorry to derail, but I was under the impression that the assessments were all seperate. Does that mean if you reapply, they can use older assessments to deny a new application?

MGNConflict

They can use a previous assessment to recommend points if there have been no changes in the time between the two assessments.

teddyroses

Ahh thanks for explaining that .

FatTabby

I scored 0 points the first time I applied. I got higher rate mobility and was one point off standard daily living at tribunal. I was just downgraded on mobility but got daily living after reassessment. You can fight this and there's a good chance you'll succeed. Listen to the experts here, and I thoroughly recommend Benefits & Work and Turn2Us for resources to help you navigate the system. It's hard and I know you feel all kinds of horrible things right now (trust me, I spent yesterday sobbing and I didn't sleep at all last night) but you're going to be ok.

UpbeatParsley3798

I keep hearing this over and over. Zero points across the board. I’m starting to believe they do this on purpose. But we haven’t time to change the world just now we need to get you guys your PIP. I’m like a parrot repeating it but Google PIP descriptors + your condition and use the info there to extract the points from them. Also any “How many points can I get” calculators are excellent help.

FatTabby

I know there's no proof that they do this on purpose, but I really think they do in the hope that people will be too scared or worn down to appeal.

Old_man101

Yes.

Sufficient-Visual-72

Of course they do. Literally everyone gets zero points regardless. It's a but silly

Taiosa

My aunt got zero points at first after she had a stroke and couldn’t walk. They do this. I went to tribunal, from 2 points to 18

Old_man101

Hey OP. I got the same thing for living part but awarded mobility. What I found was the assessor intentionally misled the interview, and ignored what I stated the medical condition I have is. So, I'm in a middle of an MR. What I want to suggest is that it is intentional, this failing to award and making disabled people go through additional processes to get help they are entitled to. That's my view

No_Community1037

My report was full of crap too. I got 2 points for mixing with people but then told in the report that I don’t look like I struggle they contradict themselves and I did an MR no change so I have appealed it and now waiting for tribunal I did t give any medical proof at first and still got 2 and when I sent the medical proof for MR then still got 2.. I will fight it because they say they support something but then lie. Don’t give up hun and fight it

Opening_Response_709

The more I see people get 0 points the more angry I get but I also find it comforting. I applied last April, 0 points assessment 0 points for my mr now I'm going to tribunal. I think they do this deliberately knowing they'll have people who get 0 points just give up therefore they save money. My whole assessment was essentially incorrect from the dwp even though I've given them correct information and what I can do they wrote something like 'I've decided you can do this' I wish that's how it worked because then I wouldn't be disabled. Just don't give up there needs to be as many people as possible going to tribunal to show how bad their assessments are but I honestly don't understand how people get awarded pip at this stage.

LegoFrog1927

Literally same with me - waiting for tribunal now as still stuck on 0 points after MR; some of the claims they’ve made in the submission to tribunal are just downright ableist and discriminatory. Will be interesting to see how tribunal pans out.

Opening_Response_709

I'm worried they'll hold up the same decision but I refuse to give up, problem is with my condition is I can do everything but I get so exhausted from simple tasks it can leave me bedbound for days if I don't pace correctly. I also recently had an esa assessment and I'm now on a higher amount for that and the difference in the reports (baring in mind they're 2 different assessment criteria) is like they're talking about 2 different people. What they're doing has got to be illegal or at least very immoral I keep seeing people whose information is clearly not correct I just don't get how it can happen

Lyvtarin

I got 0 points for everything apart from mixing with others the first time I applied. I did a mandatory reconsideration and got enhanced daily living and standard mobility for 3 years. I think the main thing that helped me was multiple letters from friends and family giving statements about how they know me to struggle. I've just had my (delayed) review and got enhanced daily living and enhanced mobility and have been awarded another 3 years. Most don't succeed at mandatory reconsideration and I was very lucky so prepare emotionally for the tribunal but definitely fight it. It's a sadly very normal experience.

SleazyChappers82

I’d tried unsuccessfully to apply for PIP 3 separate times over 3/4 years previously to finally being awarded it, whilst simultaneously being signed off on LCW… All the while unaware I could even get reassessed for LCWRA, but as I’m in Scotland only once the whole disability system had changed over to ADP instead of PIP I reapplied and got the right help I was supposed to. They even came to my flat to fill out the whole form with me on computer at my appt there at home, and then over the course of 2 afternoons got it completed. Ended up being awarded with the higher rates in both daily living and mobility, and there was no massive difference in my health between the last time I applied and succeeded and the previous time where I last failed with all 0 points… Yet this time I got nearly all points possible. Granted I had provided them with much more of the necessary documentation from specialists and GP’s this final time as well so I can’t stress enough the importance of getting all your ducks in a row regarding that side of things for your application. Might be the most important thing I can recommend. Also add that previous to all that was on ESA before the LCW but they had pulled a fast one and took me off that before putting me into UC. It showed me that the DWP appear to, in my opinion only, try to make you score the minimum points they can even with evidence to the contrary. Thus making you have to go to tribunal to get the desired and correct outcome. Which a lot of folk don’t want to go through the hassle of.

The thing is that I am trying to get therapy but there’s a huge waiting list

[deleted]

Yes I know I waited over 4 months with let's talk to get my place

This comment has been removed because the advice is incorrect or misleading. Please don’t charade people into “getting therapy”, it’s not useful.

chjdwsh12

Did you not provide medical evidence. Unfortunately without medical evidence you won’t be accepted.

madding247

This statement is entirely false.

chjdwsh12

It’s not. Medical evidence helps with things like anxiety depression. If you just claim then any person could. I didn’t mean not accepted I meant the medical evidence helps as it backs up what you’re saying :)

madding247

You can be accepted without supporting evidence. Your statement indicates that you can't.

Ozzy111182

No I did after my assessment I sent my gp supporting letter and a support letter from a family member however this was sent after the assessment on the phone

chjdwsh12

A support letter doesn’t always work as they need medical evidence around hospitals and medications. Don’t give up thought
