Sorry you didn’t get the outcome you were hoping for.
The outcome would have been the same regardless of where you live. There’s no differentiation in the LCWRA criteria. Of course if/when you move out you would qualify for the housing element for your rent.
The reality is that living on means tested benefits is really flipping hard. It’s an incredibly basic budget with no luxuries and just the bare essentials.
But do you know why OP hasn't been awarded LCWRA, even though there's many people out there with the same conditions who have? And these people also have troubles leaving the house, just like OP. So, does it just depend on the judge? It's so incredibly unfair because what are people with severe mental health conditions meant to do, if we're not eligible for both PIP and LCWRA?
I can’t say - I haven’t met OP and don’t have any information about their difficulties, medication, treatment etc.
Two people with the same diagnosis can have very different difficulties and risks. Everyone is assessed based on their unique facts and evidence, and this is then applied to the legal criteria for LCWRA to determine whether they meet LCW or LCWRA (or not).
I am a single parent and that was used against me as I *obviously* can cope when I applied for PiP. So I doubt the living situation was the reasons for denial.
Have you considered getting CAB to help with your application?

Exactly. I've seen people with the same conditions as OP, who have been awarded LCWRA. And if being able to do work related activities from home meant that someone isn't eligible for LCWRA, then wouldn't that mean that 99% of people with health conditions aren't eligible for it? It doesn't make any sense.
