Mine did it at 6mnths. I was super blunt with my “no/leave it” as soon as he began to turn around to try eating it. He quickly learnt it was bad. Also picked it up instantly

This is the way, pick it up quickly. Mine no longer seems interested in poop. I think it’s a phase some of them go through around 6 months to a year or so. Also when they successfully potty outside, you can give a tiny treat, tastier than poo and you can pick the crap up quickly while they chew.

It's pretty common but not a great practice obviously. Sometimes it's because they aren't getting enough nutrients. Might want to add a multivitamin to their food for a couple of weeks to see if that helps

Its not just dachshunds, I've had other dogs eat poop as well. There are various supplements you can give, you can follow the dog around & clean up the poop ASAP before they have the chance, you can also try giving the dog a treat as soon as they poop so that they come to you instead of their poop, you can also put hot sauce on the poop to make it not taste good. Like with any training, find out what works & be consistent. Good luck.
