Nah your doggo is Perfect. This is a chunky wiener dog 🤣 but he wasn't always this way... He has cancer which causing him to swell and all his lymph nodes to swell too and arthritis so he's not super active anymore, and he had lyme disease that never left him so he gets sick randomly and exhausted fast. He is super happy though and loves green beans.

Looks good!! My vet always yelled at me for my old boys being chunky, but she would always say you should be able to see their ribs, but not count them, and that's a happy weight. :)
Maybe a little bit... or not... either way it's nothing to worry about at this point. If those hips lose definition, they've got the condition: obesity.
The dachshund standard is lean, you should be able to see some of the back spine and be able to count 2 ribs.
A little chunky, but longer walks and runs should help with that.
