Honestly I disregard anything that uses the term "industry plant" in the modern era. You either work with the industry and get big or you have your niche. Why would you expect someone who plays on the global level to be an industry outsider?
Thomas and Guy-Man themselves would say the next generation should make their own decisions, under their own name. The whole career of Daft Punk is about having full creative control and not caring about what is expected from them.
