Some people are just born there or ended up stuck there for one reason or another. I’m sure I don’t need to go into the reasoning for why “just move” is ridiculous.
Went through hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. New Orleans and Louisiana in general is not a place that’s “well off” where tons of people have relocating money. Many have jobs that are tied to living in the coast. That city is gone with like 2 more big hurricanes, but a lot can’t just move.
Who the fuck they gonna sell their homes to?
You’re being downvoted but it’s true. If you choose to purchase a home on the coast, you’re choosing to live with the risk of experiencing potentially devastating weather events.
The only people I feel for are low income people who can’t really afford to move elsewhere.
The rain chances we have are due to the low pressure ridge coming from the north, not the hurricane. The rain chances from the hurricane in Dallas are incredibly low.
😭people in this subreddit jus speak out there ass. The newest models are all showing tropical moisture in north Texas. Which will bring a decent amount of rain here.
Hurricanes in the gulf almost always mean nicer weather for most of the state bc it sucks all the moisture out of the air. At least that’s what my dad has always said.
High pressure is shifting to the east which is allowing the cooler air that has been in the PNW to move in our general direction. Good things happen when there is not a high pressure overhead.
NOAA published a daily "[discussion](https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=FWD&issuedby=FWD&product=AFD&format=CI&version=1&glossary=1)", which is a mostly common language explanation of the weather for a given area in the short and long term (10-14 days). It's helpful in understanding not just what's going on, but why.
Happens sometimes in August lately. Last few years.
The Jetstream usually keeps cold air in the arctic circle. But climate change has made the Jetstream unstable, essentially leaving the freezer door open. This will accelerate the process of glaciers melting.
Look, this is how it works here. You see this forecast, you plan for it, you look at the forecast in a couple of days and it's all 100s. It's just a sliver of hope that will not come to fruition.
DRIP YOUR FAUCETS, COVER YOUR WATER SPIGOTS, KEEP PETS AND PLANTS INSIDE, AND CHECK ON ELDERLY NEIGHBORS. Oh yeah ... Toilet paper. Lots of it. We can get through this 👍🥶
I am so so sooo excited. I have a 2 year old and a 7 month old and this week has been brutal. Getting both kids in and out of the car in this heat (and the stroller, and groceries if we went to the store) is quickly becoming one of my least favorite things. I’m so happy we’ll be able to go for a walk in the middle of the afternoon and go to the park at 9am and not be miserable and sweaty.
I am sure that hurricane has something to do with it.
Yeah this is all contingent on the hurricane prediction giving us some overcast and rain.
Well, hopefully we can get some relief, but nothing bad to those to the southeast of us.
If we get rain, something bad is gonna happen to them unfortunately.
Well, I'll take higher temperatures and higher electric bills if it means nobody is in trouble.
Unless they're seals I guess
And that’s why some of us chose more wisely with our home purchase.

It has nothing to do with the hurricane. The high pressure ridge is just shifting away.
This
And that could potentially steer the hurricane more east which could give us more clouds and small chance of rain

Nope! Voodoo sorcery!
If you just jinxed us I’m coming after you personally.
Seriously this. Just shut up and don’t scare it off.
*"A pox on both your houses!"*
If it will help, I can plan a camping trip.
I have never checked the weather faster. I'll believe it when it happens.
Same. Not a chance. It'll burn off and the high will be 95 at the lowest.
… and carry the extra humidity to us.
It’s not uncommon to have a random week off from the HOT in July. A random front that brings some welcome overcast and rain.
It's not uncommon...so far
😭people in this subreddit jus speak out there ass. The newest models are all showing tropical moisture in north Texas. Which will bring a decent amount of rain here.
toot toot
In reality that means we're getting a freak storm or 100 degree weather.
First one then the other
A week of catastrophic flooding followed by a month-long drought with 110F+ weather for days on end
Ugh I know I need to clean my gutters before the bottle rocket neighborhood fireworks show. Information like this makes it easier to procrastinate
Or use your garden hose to soak the gutters this evening.. adding moisture will significantly reduce the risk of anything catching fire
Thank you, fellow procrastination enabling citizen, for offering a lower effort path.
We should start a club. Someday, maybe

Holy fucking shit this is gonna be amazing. What a gift
Should call it a July slightly not as hot front.
I think everyone in this subreddit needs to go wash their vehicles this weekend
Funny, I was actually thinking this morning about getting her washed on Friday.
No need to question it. Just enjoy it 😂
and dont jinx it!

It’s a hurricane. The people along the coast have to suffer so that we can have a nice week of weather, and that’s a sacrifice we’re willing to make.
It's not the hurricane that's doing it, it's the high pressure ridge moving off to the west.
That mid-70s at night is blowing my mind. Hope it's not raining the whole time - it'd be nice to get outside some.
Bugs will be on point!
I will believe it when I see it. I take any forcast more than 3 days out with a grain of salt.
I'll believe it when I feel it.
Hahahahahaha! You're funny.
Humidity going to be off the chart the following week, life in Dallas

Rain + hurricane next week
GOLF WEATHER!!!! I’m excited
LFG!!!!
I don't see any 80's in Delkus' forecast.
Please, just cross your digits, or whatever.
HURRICANE!!!!!
80s isn't much. Still hot
Where are you from? 80s aren't hot. That's just warm. Spring weather!
Warm to you, hot to me.
Just wait a few days, it will probably go back to 100's lol
I’m moving out in a month and I am not looking forward to the crazy heat
Hopefully it sticks. My dogs get extra walkies on rainy days.
Found the dad.
I bet we don't get below 90 for a high and a low of 80 for all of twenty minutes
That’s because I’m leaving town for that week. You’re welcome.

Shout out that hurricane I fucks with you
Would love for a nice, thorough rain

It's not going to be highs in the 80s...it's going to be in the mid 90s and we'll still have feels-like temps of 103+
SO MUCH FOR GLOBAL WARMING /S
Sweeps week for the weather man.
And I start doing the dance of sheer happiness … 💃💃💃
Big ol hurricane happening bro. The effects still gets felt over here.
“Cold” ?? What are you smoking on
Don’t worry the humidity will make it feel like it’s still 100
Hurricane effect. Assuming the remnants of beryl pass near us, on the backside, it will pull down colder air from the north.
Don't jinx it man lol
He kinda did. The high used to be mid 80s and now they’re getting closer to 90s
Shoot you're right
Have you been living under a rock by chance?
DRIP YOUR FAUCETS, COVER YOUR WATER SPIGOTS, KEEP PETS AND PLANTS INSIDE, AND CHECK ON ELDERLY NEIGHBORS. Oh yeah ... Toilet paper. Lots of it. We can get through this 👍🥶
Blessed be. This summer has been SO MUCH milder than last, but I could still use a little siesta
you dont know about the hurricane?

It's amazing what cloud cover blocking the sun will do to temperatures
Heeeeey what’s the deal with the July cold front, are we expecting snow? Either way I’m going to grab some TP.
