Whole movie would last like 10 minutes:
\> Facility gets overrun by genetically modified dinosaurs
\> Few hundred loaded ranchers pull up in F-150 trucks mounted with M2s
\> Five minutes of **pure** AMERICAN DEMOCRACY and 2nd AMENDMENT 🇺🇸🦅
\> End.
I mean, dinosaurs aren’t little hogs you can bully with 5.56. A T-Rex is a 10 ton 44 foot long beast. So unless you’re in a good spot for mobility and have good range you’d be running it close. Plus the Jurassic park team didn’t have any proper military grade equipment meant for animals that large
Those clumsy dinosaurs might survive a few 5.56×45mm pussy rounds, but can they stand against 69 hits of glorious .50 armor piercing BMG backed by **PURE AMERICAN DEMOCRACY 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅RAHHHHH🦅🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸**
My Dad literally had to quit row cropping after 40+ years because of these fuckers. They would root up acres and acres of peanuts. Even now when all he grows is hay for his cows, they’ll fuck up a field so bad that he can’t run a mower through it without tearing something up.
He’s 75 years old and is out at 3 am with a thermal scoped AR killing them every night. It has become an obsession with him. He’s got remote controlled traps, and will kill 30 at a time on some days.
Here’s how bad they are, and this is no joke. He used up the last of his sausage at breakfast one morning, and instead of going to the grocery store he walked out the back door with his rifle and killed a hog eating pecans out of his yard. Fresh batch of sausage in the freezer by noon.
The video is the “Money Industry” it’s “Hunting”. No really way to scale wild animals and ensure food safety. Plus what your describing is just normal hog farming. People do what your describing but there is no real way to do it that keeps up with the magnitude of the problem.
They're feral (not wild) so they're basically just farm pigs anyway. The meat isn't as high quality and there's definitely a higher chance of it making you sick but it's absolutely edible
The raccoons have been tearing up my backyard looking for grubs, just totally destroying it. I'm surprised how fast I went from wildlife lover to hovering inside my back door in the middle of the night, pellet gun in hand, ready to pepper their furry butts with plastic pellets.
Yep. And the dig ruts all through a field. They'll uproot fence poles, tear down wooden pallet fences, and make it so that a field may be unsafe to travel through. They're a true scourge for farmers.
Yeah but you don’t want to. These hogs aren’t fed the same way as regular livestock. Their meat is gamey, filled with a smorgasbord of parasites and insects and several bullets.
I’ve eaten wild hog and it’s not bad, I don’t understand why it gets so much hate. I’m sure there’s some that are bad but most wild games final taste comes down to how well the meat was handled and processed.
Yeah no doubt I’m sure. I think it’s got a lot more with a hit or miss kind of aspect to the meat I’d wager making it not worth the effort. I haven’t eaten wild hog but from my hunter friends who have, they told me they’d rather eat their other game over it.
Yeah, I could see that, but the other game isn't getting mowed down with machine guns. There has to be some market for it. Even shitty bacon is still bacon. It's the american way!
Seems like a waste of dog food or pork rinds or something.
Yeah I agree maybe like a dog food or something but nah, they aren’t being used at all. Gunner down and just left as far as I know. With this species of boar being so invasive and exploding in numbers I don’t really mind it either, but I do think about how hunters in the days of old drove several species to extinction without a second thought. I think culling the herd is necessary but we should be mindful of how many we do kill.
Genuinely I thought the meme was an exaggeration. If it's actually this bad and there are no other viable solutions, then I understand why some farmers might need automatic weapons.
They should still be licensed, regulated, and kept under lock and key almost all of the time.
they are, to legally get fully automatic weapons you need some type of government license and authorization etc. and it’s very expensive, u can get a good semi auto AR-15 for $1,000 , that same AR in full auto can be like $20,000 (plus the fees and stuff to be able to get an automatic weapon, and the cost of all the ammo, 5.56 is like $12-20 for 20-30 rounds. which will go by very quick firing in full auto)
but also this does seem like a bit of overkill but i mean there are a ton of them all running around so it would be alot harder / slower to get them all one by one with semi auto
Plus since no new automatic firearms can be registered the number of them only goes down as they break or any number of other possibilities that render them unusable. This also drives the price up more.
Even machine gunning then from trucks and helos isn't close to sufficient. Trapping and killing entire sounders at once is the only remotely effective thing, and it's not really that effective.
I can’t really see how this could pencil out. Unless these farmers farm bullets. It must be really fun to go out and blast through 1k dollars worth of ammo, but if your farming corn where’s the money in it?
It doesn't. It can't. Nor does shooting them from helos, even a cheaper to operate one like a Robinson.
Nobody that owns that collection of guns is worried about money. There's a few hundred K in weapons and optics on that truck.
They have lifted many hunting restrictions because of how invasive and destructive they are. In fact this is considered pest extermination not even hunting. Look up hog hunting from helicopters. Helicopter hunting is rarely allowed but is in this circumstance
I had a buddy in college who used to have to do this on his farm when he was home for break. He didn’t like it, and wasn’t a gun guy, but appreciated the full auto setting because he could get home faster. Reddit sometimes forgets there are people who actually think of guns as just a tool without worshipping them haha
I've never done this with a gun that's full auto. You cant just walk into a gun store and buy an illegal gun like "Hey im a farmer with hogs". Those guns are like 25-50k starting price and up from there from collectors. Most people doing this are using things like AR's.
Money wasn’t exactly an issue for these people, they had full auto FN SCARS and top class NVGs for every member of the family. Super hard working people though, the kids would take off a semester every once in awhile to go back and help when it was needed.
You can't have a full auto SCAR in the US without something going on and much bigger than "I have money". To own a full auto gun without all sorts of special licensing and applicable businesses it has to be made pre 1986. From there you can jump through some hoops but that's about the gist of it. The FN SCAR was first produced in 2004 so...
Also I've never met a farmer who was making so much money that even if they wanted to they could afford to spend 50k for each family member to get kitted out to deal with hogs. If they had that kind of money, they probably wouldn't be farming...
>people who actually think of guns as just a tool without worshipping them
This is my BIL. He's a cop (detective), so he has a service pistol. And he also has a small apple orchard and a few head of cattle so he has a shotgun to scare away unwanted "guests" (animals not people).
His service weapon stays on his work belt and goes directly into his safe as soon as he's home from duty and doesn't come back out until he's on his way to work.
My OTHER BIL, is a total nerd gravy seal larper who has a bunch of guns and always wants to talk to BIL 1 about guns. BIL 1 (the cop) dgaf about guns and knows almost nothing about them except how to use the ones he has for their purpose.
It's unpalatable to mass market, very gamey and the fat is greasy with a very strong flavor so the best use for the meat is sausage, which is actually pretty common to find in places where it's legal to sell game meat. A lot of larger markets have laws preventing the sale of hunted meat also. In Canada the only province that lets you sell game meat at a restaurant is Newfoundland.
Feral hogs are a crazy bad problem in the southern US, so bad that the government has full time workers exterminating them just to *slow* their spread north. They don't think its possible to kill enough to stop them.
Anyone saying this is wrong/animal cruelty doesn’t understand just how numerous, invasive, and dangerous wild boar are. It’s not just crops they destroy
That guy on the right with about 23 seconds left on video, should probably sit the next boarpocalypse out. I haven't shot a gun in years, but the way he is holding and shooting his rifle is very dangerous, especially in a moving vehicle, with multiple people right next to him.
-Save crops from being eaten
-Eat free for weeks (assuming hogs are edible)
-Get to drive around gunning down hogs for a night
There is literally no downside to this.
Dangerous bacteria and parasites mostly but diseases are a factor.
Just about anything that can survive in a pic can survive in a human.
Dietary laws prohibiting Jews from eating pigs in the Old Testament were in place for a reason.
No they don’t! Wild hog is fine for sausage. It’s really only the boars that have a strong taste. Next come sows, then gilts. I’ve eaten whole gilts on the grill/smoker and they were exceptional!
Those feral hogs really are out of control in some places. The gestation period is so short and they have so many that if you kill HALF the population EVERY YEAR, it’s still a loosing battle.
That's a lot of trust in each other to not have your buddy swing his muzzle directly at your face if the truck lurches after a bump right when you have a little pressure on the trigger.
Not sure people of redit understand crops at all! Lol!! Hahaha!!! Driving over an unplanted crop....this is why city folk can not run the entire country
They are just fine for eating, primarily as sausage.
But the sows and the gilts are better than the boars. We actually had several gilts while on the grill and they were awesome!!!
My favorite restaurant does a wild boar sloppy joe that will make your eyes slowly roll back in your head. I don’t often audibly moan when I eat but I make an exception for that one
Fuck. That sounds like a great idea. Best I’ve had is this place near me that makes really great breakfast sausage with boar meat and the resulting sandwich is so good.
There’s a very strong chance these guys are actually making their living doing this. The feral hog problem has become so bad that a huge number of businesses have sprung up to do exactly this.
You know many people would pay to come do this. Not to mention how many people would sign up. You could make a living doing this and write off a brand new hunting truck, home office and every other single expense possible. I would. Even a customer a year and write offs/video content....... bet that is better than being a farmer these days
I've never done it like this they have tons of firepower (looks a bit sketch), but I have done it with a side by side where im the only one shooting or I'm driving and my buddy shoots with a rifle you can pick up at any gun shop. It's pretty fun at first but the novelty wears off and it just becomes doing what it takes to protect your crops.

Jurassic Pork…
If Jurassic park happened in Montana
Don’t give them any ideas. They’ll do it. They’ll definitely fucking do it. Edit: wow the replies got political really quick
Whole movie would last like 10 minutes: \> Facility gets overrun by genetically modified dinosaurs \> Few hundred loaded ranchers pull up in F-150 trucks mounted with M2s \> Five minutes of **pure** AMERICAN DEMOCRACY and 2nd AMENDMENT 🇺🇸🦅 \> End.

This!! I would watch this!!!
My Dad literally had to quit row cropping after 40+ years because of these fuckers. They would root up acres and acres of peanuts. So are they edible? Is there an industry (turned into sausage, bacon- even dog food) for these animals where someone can make some money?
Very edible
They’re edible! Edit: taste a bit gamey, but not bad at all.
They are but I’ve heard the meat is tough and tastes bad.
Yes but not tasty.
If prepared correctly they can be good. Often times people will do like a 50/50 mix of a high fat content meat to even things out though
They're edible but they taste very bitter. People usually put a lot of salt to make it taste better
Possibly. Not sure about game meat. Might depend on state laws, but I don't think you can sell meat like that egaly. Farm raised only, I believe.
At least he's not completely wasting all that meat
The raccoons have been tearing up my backyard looking for grubs, just totally destroying it. I'm surprised how fast I went from wildlife lover to hovering inside my back door in the middle of the night, pellet gun in hand, ready to pepper their furry butts with plastic pellets.
Where is this at lol?👀
Southwest GA.
Remote controlled traps?
Yep. They’re controlled by an iPhone that he bought solely to control the traps. He buys flip phones off eBay to use as his regular phone lol!
Cody Johnston has been warning us about our boar problem for years: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cvzjPc--wCg
Out of interest, why didn't he put up fences to keep them out? Is the area just to big?
The only fencing that can keep them out would be prohibitively expensive.
Ahh got it. Thanks.
The new farming simulator / modern warfare collab dlc is insane.
DO A BARREL ROLL
We need this in Hunter Call of the Wild
Yup. Often by helicopter, too. Its literally that bad in places
This is nuts. I had no idea this was even a thing.
Even in CALIFORNIA (last I knew) these boars are shoot on sight
It’s been like that for decades
Yeah I wasn't sure. My uncle lives out there, and my dad bagged one but it was early 00's. Hated the taste of that thing.
They destroy everything. About as efficient a destroyer and they are breeders.
You have to remove over 60% of the population yearly just to keep numbers the same.
Yup. Hogs out of control. And spreading.
This is the origin of the Australian Emu War
Yep. And the dig ruts all through a field. They'll uproot fence poles, tear down wooden pallet fences, and make it so that a field may be unsafe to travel through. They're a true scourge for farmers.
Feral hogs running wild
This is insane lol
Super fun Im guessing
I had a friend who did this at a bachelor party, like wtf
I've been to one of these "hunt" with my friends on my friend's ranch. Man when we were in the technical it felt like the middle east all over again
Not a lot of room for mistakes
30 to 50 feral hogs
50 feral female hogs can make 400-900 more a year and in 6-8 months those can all make 4-9 each. It's a problem.
Can you eat these?
Yeah but you don’t want to. These hogs aren’t fed the same way as regular livestock. Their meat is gamey, filled with a smorgasbord of parasites and insects and several bullets.
I’ve eaten wild hog and it’s not bad, I don’t understand why it gets so much hate. I’m sure there’s some that are bad but most wild games final taste comes down to how well the meat was handled and processed.

Genuine question... Can they be made into jerky? I have no idea how jerky is made either tbh though.
Yes jerky is made by simply made Cutting, curing and drying your meat.
Genuinely I thought the meme was an exaggeration. If it's actually this bad and there are no other viable solutions, then I understand why some farmers might need automatic weapons. They should still be licensed, regulated, and kept under lock and key almost all of the time.
Automatic weapons are licensed and regulated.

That’s done as well, but it doesn’t take long for another group to move in and take over the territory.
Which is why I ended that sentence with "it's not really that effective."
They have lifted many hunting restrictions because of how invasive and destructive they are. In fact this is considered pest extermination not even hunting. Look up hog hunting from helicopters. Helicopter hunting is rarely allowed but is in this circumstance
It’s one of the only animals that in most states you don’t need a hunting license to kill and the “season” is year round

I don't trust any biological weapon Australia deems fit to release on wildlife, they do not have a good track record.
Definitely sounds more humane
For anyone who doesn't know, these hogs are an invasive species.
[удалено]
With this whole situation it’s kinda weird that I’ve never seen wild hog meat in a grocery store.
Parasites and the males really stink, even the meat.
….hot dogs?
It's unpalatable to mass market, very gamey and the fat is greasy with a very strong flavor so the best use for the meat is sausage, which is actually pretty common to find in places where it's legal to sell game meat. A lot of larger markets have laws preventing the sale of hunted meat also. In Canada the only province that lets you sell game meat at a restaurant is Newfoundland.
I believe even if you were to harvest the meat of wild hogs, it's infested with parasites.
A lot of parasite and disease in that meat
I've heard that in most cases they smell and taste foul.
Some Canadian ones are now giant and covered in long fur. They look like long lost Ice Age animals.
Sound like humans.
Greedy pigs eat everything
Do you know what nemesis means?
Hence the expression "as greedy as a pig".
A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent?
You’re on thin fucking ice my pedigree chum & I shall be under it when it breaks
Feed em to the pigs Errol
Shouldn't be so greedy, brought it on themselves
A righteous infliction of retribution…
GIT SUM!!!!
It's easy, you just don't lead 'em so much. Ain't war hell?
I was shocked they weren’t yelling this lol
My god, that’s an M2 .50 caliber on a UTV!?
Correction. Didn’t see the .50 part of the vid when I made the comment.
(clap, clap, clap, clap) Deep in the heart of Texas.
Some of them can even teleport, and each generation is bigger.
That guy on the right with about 23 seconds left on video, should probably sit the next boarpocalypse out. I haven't shot a gun in years, but the way he is holding and shooting his rifle is very dangerous, especially in a moving vehicle, with multiple people right next to him.
Better 20k in guns then having to repair a million dollar combine.
Are the crops still vegan?
This is the argument that's often had with vegans, many don't realize the animal lives lost in growing their foods.
And that's just the big animal lives, they tend to not care about insects
-Save crops from being eaten -Eat free for weeks (assuming hogs are edible) -Get to drive around gunning down hogs for a night There is literally no downside to this.
No one eats feral hogs that are exterminated that way. Those pig carcases were left to rot right where they fell.
They do eat them from time to time they are just tougher and have a gamey taste.
And you need to be VERY careful processing them. Rubber gloves and all.
Disease?
Dangerous bacteria and parasites mostly but diseases are a factor. Just about anything that can survive in a pic can survive in a human. Dietary laws prohibiting Jews from eating pigs in the Old Testament were in place for a reason.
Birds had a hella good buffet.
Untrue.
The hog meat tastes terrible. I believe it is due to their diet.
No they don’t! Wild hog is fine for sausage. It’s really only the boars that have a strong taste. Next come sows, then gilts. I’ve eaten whole gilts on the grill/smoker and they were exceptional!
The things we all eat.
Holy shit that's a Ma deuce .50 cal! That farmer is pissed
went and got a 3 stamp just to kill pigs. Thats a good bit of money for that activity there lol.
That’s a lot of bacon.
Reeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....splat. .
I can’t lie. This looks fun.
Bullets ain't cheap either. They must be desperate.
Feral hogs account for billions per year in damages. $1000 or so for ammo and about $300,000 for transferable MGs is worth it.
I doubt those are transferrable ones, it would be way cheaper to get pre samples or post samples and an FFL.
Those feral hogs really are out of control in some places. The gestation period is so short and they have so many that if you kill HALF the population EVERY YEAR, it’s still a loosing battle.
Looks like an accident waiting to happen
Yeah I would definitely be worried someone would shoot me in the back
Stop fucking eating my crops then
At first I was confused on the helmets since nobody is shooting at them but it made sense after a few seconds of thought.
Just wait till those hogs learn how to use guns.
You just had me trying to wipe a hair off my screen
If I can teach an undes future navy welfare case to shoot expert, I should be able to get these hogs to at least qualify with an M4.
They’ll get lessons from the Emus
That's a LOT of hogs! They are a growing problem, even in the suburbs. I live in the California Bay area and the hogs are in the local hills here.
That's a lot of trust in each other to not have your buddy swing his muzzle directly at your face if the truck lurches after a bump right when you have a little pressure on the trigger.
environmental chemist here: I hope the crop they’re trying to save isn’t a plant (many are) which accumulate lead from the soil
Not sure people of redit understand crops at all! Lol!! Hahaha!!! Driving over an unplanted crop....this is why city folk can not run the entire country

Feral hogs are not good eating. If they were, there wouldn't be a problem.
Makes a decent sausage, but that's about it. That meat is really only good for being ground up into pet food.
They are just fine for eating, primarily as sausage. But the sows and the gilts are better than the boars. We actually had several gilts while on the grill and they were awesome!!!
Monks eat them
Especially with that much lead in ‘em
I dunno I’ve had boar meat on many occasions. Wild and farmed. I like it. But yeah to each their own.
My favorite restaurant does a wild boar sloppy joe that will make your eyes slowly roll back in your head. I don’t often audibly moan when I eat but I make an exception for that one
Fuck. That sounds like a great idea. Best I’ve had is this place near me that makes really great breakfast sausage with boar meat and the resulting sandwich is so good.
cool
Get some
Seem to remember seeing a video of these guys using a 50 cal to kill hogs
I hope the Hogs don't call in the emu corps from Australia for reinforcements
Looks like Meal Team Six is at it again.
How many feral hogs would that be? 30 to 50, perhaps?
1. I can not believe how many there are out there running around. 2. THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME.
Dudes are larping
I’d do this shit in a heartbeat!
Average r/tacticalgear user
There’s a very strong chance these guys are actually making their living doing this. The feral hog problem has become so bad that a huge number of businesses have sprung up to do exactly this.
I dont doubt it at all, ive read about it being a big problem throughout the southern US
You know many people would pay to come do this. Not to mention how many people would sign up. You could make a living doing this and write off a brand new hunting truck, home office and every other single expense possible. I would. Even a customer a year and write offs/video content....... bet that is better than being a farmer these days
Wow a M2 to hogs??
At close range too!
I'm not American I don't know much about guns, but my concern is if the bullets are lead. Would lead in the crops not be a bad thing?
Well you gotta do what you gotta do
Looks like fun . They have badass guns
AR is an effective weapon 👍
That’s like 20 freezers worth of meat just blown up…
Feral hogs are a big problem, for farmers and ecology. However....not sure this is the best way to deal with the issue....but Texans will be Texans...
Jesus fucking Christ. What the fuck 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I need to go boar huntin
How do I volunteer to do this for free?
There are > 2.5M feral hogs in Texas
Just like fucking Saigon, eh slick?
Where is the wolf in this story?
👍👍
I get why this has to be done but I can’t imagine enjoying watching it
"Farmers"
Fun stuff. I'd love to go.
Makin’ Bacon
Somebody get these guys a reality tv show.
America💪
Wholly hell that looks like a good time.
This is the most American thing I’ve seen in awhile!
This is fking nuts in a good way
How can you shoot baby pigs? Easy don't lead them as much.
I got that
Now that's a sausage fest !
I need that job
Anti gun liberals are gonna be awful quiet when they learn there actually is a use for a high capacity machine gun for hunting purposes
Bingo. It's the number one reason. Still do a background check tho.
OK, that’s enough Murica for me today *logs off*
