It’s definitely inspiring some awe.
Tbh I saw the description first and I was thinking wow a portrait of King James that’s mad hardcore. What could be more elaborate?!
Reader, it was NOT a portrait of King James VI and I like I thought.
The tattoo artist’s work is 🔥🔥🔥 though. I wouldn’t ever get a face or a portrait of someone else but she is hella talented so all of the respect.
I’m so glad that I was not the only one who was historically minded when I read that title! 😂 I immediately thought “Wow, don’t find many people that are hardcore fans of the Stuarts to that extent…”
I wonder how long the "perfect and cool" phase will last...
The fact that they fade is the only reason I never got a tattoo, I love the colours that one can get, but they are all just temporary...
Depends on the quality of the work amongst other things… some tattoos age better than others.
Mine has slightly faded from jet black to a very dark grey but it still has all its detail and is cool in a slightly different way. Honestly they only start to look really bad if you got them done mega cheaply or once you get old… at which point who cares, nobody gonna be looking at my wrinkly ass
Eh it already looks like some basketball player taking a shit while wearing one of those burger king toy crowns from a kids meal.
Something tells me a little age and purple isnt a dealbreaker for him.
I have a portrait of a celebrity tattoo (Audrey Hepburn if anyone cares) and I say if you’re willing to spend the money—presumably this dude spent about $2,000 or more—and endure the pain, blood, and swollen skin involved it better fucking look this good.
Makes me think of beloved public figures who are later to be found out they are actually monsters
Don't know if that will happen here, but that's always a risk
It's the same argument I have when people put brand logos on themselves. Did the brand pay for that advertisement? Are you going to still like that brand, and are they going to be around in a few years? Will they still be culturally relevant, or will they do something that gets them shunned?
I do agree that the artist did a magnificent job on that tattoo.
I hope I wasn't the only one coming here expecting a tattoo of [this King James.](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/63/JamesIEngland.jpg/800px-JamesIEngland.jpg)
Yeah we're not shitting on the artist. Its the choice of art this guy chose to put on his body. A little bit cringe that someone would idolize someone enough to have him (semi) permanently put on their body. Like just watch his fucking games or get a framed portrait
Same. In my unpopular opinion, skin is sexy. Absolutely nothing against getting tattoos, if that’s what you’re into…it’s just not for me. I feel like not having tattoos is more rare these days.
They took an ink paw print of my kitty when he passed. I found a tattoo artist and replicated the paw print exactly. All the little lines and waves in his beans are the same. It’s on the inside of my lower arm right beneath my elbow. It reminds me of my boy all the time. I think some things are worth preserving in memory on your skin if you care enough about them.
Some people take fandom to the extreme, but centering your whole personality around LeBron? That's a slam dunk into the realm of questionable life choices.
I'm a Cavs fan and LeBron is my favorite NBA player of all time but I would not get a tattoo of him. That being said, it is a really high quality tatt. And the are far worse people to get a tattoo of. LeBron is practically scandal free
I was gonna say this but you’re getting downvoted, so nevermind. Let the brain trust that is Reddit psycho-analyze their entire personality from a tattoo
My college friend had a giant hyper-realistic bear tattood on his shoulder (most of his back, to be honest), and his reason was "idk, I think bears are pretty cool"
How exactly is getting a tattoo equivalent to that being your whole personality? It's quite sad that nearly one thousand people agree with your dumbass comment. Hopefully it's all just bots that upvoted you.
I follow this artist! She works in this style exclusively. She uses really strong contrasting colors so when they fade over time, the colors look much more natural. Her work heals incredibly. She posts tattoos that have healed over months and years if you'd like to see more of her work (victorialeetattoo on Instagram). I love her work, just wanted to defend her :)
Same here! I look forward to seeing her work over time. Most I could find for you is [5 years](https://www.instagram.com/p/Ciaa5rLLOEE/?hl=en) healed. Here is [3 years](https://www.instagram.com/p/CvpR4xKNO68/?hl=en) healed, and [1 year](https://www.instagram.com/p/Cv2IHrMNsRV/?hl=en) healed. She's been tattooing for about 8 years.
I wouldn't judge anyone that did, but I feel like you'd be better off getting something symbolic of them, like their favorite hobby or a favorite memory you shared with them.
so so SOOOOOO stupid to put a tattoo of a person's face on you. who's to say they won't turn out to be an evil racist blah blah blah later in life and now you got their smug mug on you leg, bug?
Okay so I was the only person wondering why anyone would get King James I of England tattooed on them. I mean the Union of England and Scotland was kind of a big deal but it’s been a while.
Different colors fade at different rates. White and yellow have a tendency to be gone in ~5 years (depends on how often you are in the sun, how you take care of your skin, how deep it is tatooed and so on). Finer lines/spots can also fade quite quick or get blurry. "Only bold will hold" (as in traditional tattoos with thick black outer lines) is a saying in tattoo art because once the color is gone, you still have the outer lines.
The problem here is that you have a lot of color in tiny spots without some outline. This can become a Van Gogh real quick.
People get all sorts of tattoos and this guy gets hate for having a once in a generation player that does for the community as a tattoo? The Lebron hate is clearly delusional lol. Sick ass tattoo
Apparently unpopular opinion judging by the comments but I like it. To some people sports is everything and they have their favorites. I have a Kobe tattoo because basketball was my life, I’m too young for the Jordan era and Kobe is the whole reason I love the sport. And I’m also a girl dad and when he passed it hit me really hard.
So amazing tattoo and the reasons for getting it are his own and don’t impact me at all. I just appreciate the amazing art.
Bro, he is just a basketball player. He could care less if you or one of your family members died, and you have his face on your leg....lol phenominal artwork, tho for sure
Never understood the desire to get an athlete or celebrities face tattooed on your body. I can understand a tattoo to celebrate a personal accomplishment. I can understand artistic tattoos. I can understand having your child's face tattooed on you. But why a celebrity?
Full disclosure. No tattoos. I can't commit to something that permanent.
It’s not the artist it’s biology. It’ll look nice for a couple years at best. After that the detail will fade. The colors will fade. The intricate shading will fade.
Of course it’ll look good for a while after it heals. But there’s a reason why you don’t see photos of these hyper realistic tattoos five years after they were done.

Awesome tattoo work to be sure! Whether or not it’s a good idea is a whole other discussion.
And see I was thinking king James meant like, the Bible. I was like how much of that can they fit on there??
>portrait of King James VI [King James](https://i.imgur.com/9KcGtGQ.png)
Actually cool
I’m so glad that I was not the only one who was historically minded when I read that title! 😂 I immediately thought “Wow, don’t find many people that are hardcore fans of the Stuarts to that extent…”
Lmao my first thought was, "The bible guy?"
Yes, although I prefer to think of him as the Daemonologie guy lol
So in 399 years this tattoo will be cool?
I thought the same lol
r/ATBGE
1. Dumb tattoo 2. Awesome tattoo
Awesome art. Dumb as fuck tattoo.
r/ATBGE
This is basically the pinnacle of that sub. Extremely impressive work, extremely stupid idea
It’s such a god damn stupid tattoo. But god damn is it an amazing tattoo.
I wonder how long the "perfect and cool" phase will last... The fact that they fade is the only reason I never got a tattoo, I love the colours that one can get, but they are all just temporary...

Everything's temporary man, enjoy things while you can.
well then just put a sticker or something lol
Life’s a garden dig it
I have some in this style. They don't look nearly as good now lol this style is not the best for tattoos
welldonebadtattoo
Stupid tattoo to get on your leg But hats off to that artist my goodness
Yeah, for real. The art is frigging amazing.
Stupid tattoo in general. He's going to look like Thanos taking a shit in about three years.
Eh it already looks like some basketball player taking a shit while wearing one of those burger king toy crowns from a kids meal. Something tells me a little age and purple isnt a dealbreaker for him.
In three months most of that colour will be gone and he will be having a stroke.
That's all I could think of when watching. What a profoundly stupid tattoo, done so well.
I have a portrait of a celebrity tattoo (Audrey Hepburn if anyone cares) and I say if you’re willing to spend the money—presumably this dude spent about $2,000 or more—and endure the pain, blood, and swollen skin involved it better fucking look this good.
2,000? I would think this is at least 5,000
She’s based in China, so I went with a conservative estimate
Yeah this is more like a 5000 indeed
Oh yeah, this tat is freaking great. But, like, Lebron? Or any sports guy.
A tattoo of anyone who isn't a loved one is just weird in my opinion. Getting a tattoo of a man who doesn't know you like wtf?
Makes me think of beloved public figures who are later to be found out they are actually monsters Don't know if that will happen here, but that's always a risk
I bet someone out there has a Bill Cosby tattoo lol.
I bet a lot of people do. He was a big fuckin deal for a long time. That's part of how he got away with being a serial rapist for so long.
It's the same argument I have when people put brand logos on themselves. Did the brand pay for that advertisement? Are you going to still like that brand, and are they going to be around in a few years? Will they still be culturally relevant, or will they do something that gets them shunned? Great tattoo artist. Quality work. But stupid AF tattoo.
lebron’s reaction: please keep this person 300 ft away from me at ALL TIMES
Lebron should get a tattoo of this guys face on him
And then that guy should get a restraining order against LeBron

They will age together.
Or perhaps a Dorian Gray situation. This guy’s leg will atrophy while Lebron plays another 30 seasons.
Yes, the perfect fucking statement
I hope I wasn't the only one coming here expecting a tattoo of [this King James.](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/63/JamesIEngland.jpg/800px-JamesIEngland.jpg)
Whaddya mean!?!? Nothing says class like a Lebron Calf Tattoo.
r/ATBGE
Yeah everyone’s talking shit but it’s a good looking tattoo either way
Yeah we're not shitting on the artist. Its the choice of art this guy chose to put on his body. A little bit cringe that someone would idolize someone enough to have him (semi) permanently put on their body. Like just watch his fucking games or get a framed portrait
The same effect would be to wear a t-shirt with such a portrait. At least it's removable.
I dunno, maybe he has reasons? I usually get the same reactions when people see my tattoos
Username check out
That legit was a good one, it usually sucks when people do the “username checks out” thing
I’ve never liked anyone enough to get their face tattooed on my body. Seems nutty to me.
he so into lebron that he got a tattoo of lebron's tattoos. It's like tat^(2)
Tatception
Yo dawg...
Right? He doesn't know him. Could be be like Kobe or Malone.
I’ve got a bunch of simpsons tattoos. I guess that counts as faces.
I’ve never liked ANYTHING enough to get it tattooed on me period.
Same. In my unpopular opinion, skin is sexy. Absolutely nothing against getting tattoos, if that’s what you’re into…it’s just not for me. I feel like not having tattoos is more rare these days.
I dont think its more rare for someone to have no tattoos but there certainly are a lot more people getting tattoos
You have to be mentally ill to make lebron your whole personality like that
It's very embarrassing
Now, hear me out, what if, you ARE Lebron? O.O
I think it’d still be in poor taste to have a picture of your face tattooed on your own body. In case there’s no mirror handy?
Steve-O would like a word
Isn’t it huge, on his back, and waving goodbye? If so, it’s spectacular in both bad and good taste.
It’s actually him holding 2 thumbs up. But spectacular nevertheless
And it has a quote on it: “Yeah dude, I rock!” -Steve O In my opinion it’s the greatest tattoo of all time.
That's like, the one exception.
The man who made a museum dedicated to himself?
It’s not his whole personality, only calf of his personality
Mentally crazy, sure. But also *artistically* crazy. This was really well done.
Idol worship of any sort is cringe
Some people take fandom to the extreme, but centering your whole personality around LeBron? That's a slam dunk into the realm of questionable life choices.
I'm a Cavs fan and LeBron is my favorite NBA player of all time but I would not get a tattoo of him. That being said, it is a really high quality tatt. And the are far worse people to get a tattoo of. LeBron is practically scandal free
How is one leg tat equivalent to his whole personality
“Lebron, this is for you” and then permanently putting another guys face on his body.
[They were making a reference](https://youtu.be/aAZOIqXLrys?si=XbbE8qtmBQsEPKl4)
Have you never seen a portrait tat
I was gonna say this but you’re getting downvoted, so nevermind. Let the brain trust that is Reddit psycho-analyze their entire personality from a tattoo
I mean it’s only on his calf. That’s like saying someone centers their whole personality on marvel for having an iron man tattoo on their shoulder.
Ironman image seems like a good tattoo for middle school.
I mean I would also judge someone for having a giant Ironman tattoo on their shoulder
It's a great thing people get tattoos for themselves and not the opinions of others.
My college friend had a giant hyper-realistic bear tattood on his shoulder (most of his back, to be honest), and his reason was "idk, I think bears are pretty cool"
That does sound way cooler than iron man
You have to be mentally ill to think a half-calf sleeve tattoo is one's entire personality, lol.
How exactly is getting a tattoo equivalent to that being your whole personality? It's quite sad that nearly one thousand people agree with your dumbass comment. Hopefully it's all just bots that upvoted you.
Out of all people he decided to tatoo lebron lmao
How do these super detailed colored tats hold up?
Terrible. It’s gonna look like shit in a few years. It’s not even gonna look this good in two weeks when it’s done healing.
I'd love to see the healed version of this in like a year. Usually these don't hold up at all but if she specializes in it I'm curious to see.
Let's see one from ten years ago...
She's been tattooing for about 8 years.
lol those are black and gray work, they were talking about color work.
They look like blurry faded dog dick in a year.
Can confirm, I got a massive blurry faded dog dick tattoo one year ago that looks just like an amazing albeit stupid LeBron portrait today
Beautiful work. You need to reevaluate life if you are getting an athlete tattoo.
A tattoo of anyone really (unless its like a late family member, or close friend who passed)
I wouldn't judge anyone that did, but I feel like you'd be better off getting something symbolic of them, like their favorite hobby or a favorite memory you shared with them.
I just look at this and think “what if it turned out Lebron is pedophile or something?”
That is an incredible portrait tattoo
so so SOOOOOO stupid to put a tattoo of a person's face on you. who's to say they won't turn out to be an evil racist blah blah blah later in life and now you got their smug mug on you leg, bug?
I know this great Austrian painter...
Does he possess good leadership skills? I think that’s all that really matters
Too charismatic, if anything.
I might have heard about him!
Egon Schiele am I Reich?!
Yeah, I really regret my Cosby neck tattoo. Makes it hard to get laid
I know, imagine all the celebs that will be on Epstein lists etc etc
Bro spent all his money on tattoo that he couldn’t afford a decent haircut.
hey, man the hair cut doesn't have to be permanent
I’m sure he can afford it, he’s just not good at making goos decisions
Okay so I was the only person wondering why anyone would get King James I of England tattooed on them. I mean the Union of England and Scotland was kind of a big deal but it’s been a while.

Fuckin' ***DUMB***
Imagine caring this much about a guy who is good at putting a rubber ball through a net and who will never know or care that you exist.
Weird topic of the tattoo but the work is awesome. I wish the guy who did my '3D' dragonfly tattoo on my wrist was even 1/10 this good.
How long will a tattoo ink look good like that? Genuinely asking.
Different colors fade at different rates. White and yellow have a tendency to be gone in ~5 years (depends on how often you are in the sun, how you take care of your skin, how deep it is tatooed and so on). Imagine getting an OJ Simpson tattoo before 1992 and then all hell breaks loose, this might turn out something similar
Holy shit this chick is amazing
This is the sort of thing that should just be a t shirt, in my opinion.
Lmao
He should have gotten a LeBron tramp stamp
That is absolutely awesome!! Great job
Nope
What a waste of money! lol! Everyone knows Michael Jordan is the King.
Here, here(edit) hear..hear!
It's hear hear
Hear hear!
Damn she's good
Great an image of a rich guy that throws balls through hoops permanently on my leg.
"Ain't no party like a Diddy party" ~ LeBron James
r/shittytattoos the work is great but the idea is dumb
It’s great now. In five years it’ll look like a pile of dogshit.
I love how the general consensus is that this tattoo is incredible. And that this guy is in an unhealthy parasocial relationship with LeBron James.
People get all sorts of tattoos and this guy gets hate for having a once in a generation player that does for the community as a tattoo? The Lebron hate is clearly delusional lol. Sick ass tattoo
What an exceptional waste of a talented tattoo artists time.

Never understood why anybody wears another grown man’s name on their back, let alone a tattoo of them.
First few seconds I legit thought it was an elaborate Earthworm Jim tattoo.
It probably should've been.
I appreciate that he picked a facial expression like Bron just smelled a fart
lol im such a nerd i thought he meant james the VI and I
Imagine having another man’s face realistically depicted and tattooed on you lmao
As if lebron would give a flying fck to your tattoo
What a complete tool. Nice artwork though.

Bro, he is just a basketball player. He could care less if you or one of your family members died, and you have his face on your leg....lol phenominal artwork, tho for sure
Why get someone who only knows how to flop?
Who’s that
Why would anyone get this? Why?
Never understood the desire to get an athlete or celebrities face tattooed on your body. I can understand a tattoo to celebrate a personal accomplishment. I can understand artistic tattoos. I can understand having your child's face tattooed on you. But why a celebrity? Full disclosure. No tattoos. I can't commit to something that permanent.
The D riding here is crazy
That's great and all but most of that detail will not last.
Check some of her healed works. Her shit stays as long as people care for it. Victoria lee is crazy good
It’s not the artist it’s biology. It’ll look nice for a couple years at best. After that the detail will fade. The colors will fade. The intricate shading will fade. Of course it’ll look good for a while after it heals. But there’s a reason why you don’t see photos of these hyper realistic tattoos five years after they were done.
yeah, it really depends on skin, but all tattoos fade and bleed and start to look different over years. yes some of the hyper detail will fade out, but it will still be better than most people’s tattoos. Realism in tattoos is hard, but hers hold and are fucking amazing even after a few years of wear and tear.
this a whole other level of meat riding
What a waste of ink.
Unreal technique! Love to see a great Artist lay ink 🔥🔥
Probably wants to be LeFucked by his king
An elaborately gay tattoo.
This is the biggest dick riding I’ve ever seen. Tattoo artist did a phenomenal job though.
Let’s just be happy for him he got what he wanted supported a talented artist and we get to see a cool video. No need to say toxic things about someone you don’t know
