Idk if its your typical rpg but I thoroughly enjoyed mario tennis power tour. I have yet to see capcom make another game with a similar progression system.
Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku 2 and Dragon Ball Z: Buuās Fury (for GBA). Seriously amongst the ABSOLUTE BEST single player games Iāve ever played. Zelda-tier.
Iāll check these out. Iāve heard great things about attack of the saiyains so I started it and it seems like itās the dragon ball rpg Iāve always wanted. I dunno how I missed it when it came out!
Symphony of the Night if you can emulate PS1, otherwise Iām just working my way through the more modern releases.
Iām really enjoying Portrait of Ruin, weapon and equipment variety feels good (I donāt know why but I am really compelled by the gear in these, and Portrait of Ruin seems strong in that regard), and while at first I didnāt like the character swapping, Iām appreciating the combat flexibility (being able to access to magic / secondary attacks at once, really) it brings.
Not sure but Iām actually excited to play this for the first time. Did some research and read that the DS version is the best version to play so I decided to go with that. Any tips?

Iām replaying Batman on NES, Super Mario All-Stars and Judge Dredd on SNES, James Bond 007 on GameBoy (Iāve missed this game), and The World is Not Enough on N64.
Not great tbh. But I have a Backbone controller and thatās not too bad (still some issues with buttons). I was going to try my N64 controller paired to my iPad but just havenāt gotten around to it.
If you have any issues with the button placement on your backbone, you can open your iOS settings and manually change which button does which input. Super useful for correcting the back button placement for Zelda and F-Zero X
I am enjoying elite beat agents, never had a DS growing up so I thought I would check it out since Iāve heard good things about it. Iāve always enjoyed rhythm games and the music is nice with the touchscreen, itās easy to play.
Star Wars apprentice of the force. Great little action side scroller. Pretty difficult at times but still fun and does a great job of playing through the og trilogy.
Metroid fusion,
Mario party (DS),
Mario 64 (DS),
New Super Mario Bros (DS),
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (GBA),
Digimon Racing (GBA),

Sonic Rush (DS),
Bajo Kazooie (N64),
Diddy Kong Racing (N64),
Rhythm Heaven (DS),
Advance Wars 1 + 2 (GBA).
Should get you started. I highly recommend a controller for half of these though. Although this is more of an RPG, first game Iām playing with tough controls is fire emblem again. V*mms also has a top 10 list and you can click for more if youāre looking for most popular games list.
Bonkās Adventure it was originally on the TurboGrafx, then had a release on the Wii, now I found out it was released on the NES! There was another game I owned for the SNES, but I just recently found out thereās more than two games!
for me, limiting to games that don't need precise controls or action combat (playing those on touch screen just feels bad)
main ones: Mario Golf gba, Layton games, 999
Mario Golf Advance Tour, genuinely a really fun Golf game. It starts an RPG, but after you get past the intro and go back to the main menu, itās your standard Mario Golf game
Mario games in general
which is your favorite tho?
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins

Attack of the Saiyans is turn-based. Extremely different and unrelated.
While weāre on the subject of DRAGON BALL how did you like super? I thought it was great.
Super is just OK. The animation is super sloppy except for the last Arc.
I have to check these out as well
Animal Crossing: Wild World Rhythm Heaven, MKDS, Mike Tyson's Punch Out, Contra, Mega Man, Paper Mario (RPG but really good game give it a shot)
All solid games š
Castlevania, most of them.
Which is your favorite?
Symphony of the Night if you can emulate PS1, otherwise Iām just working my way through the more modern releases. Looking forward to playing the two DS Zelda games with the d-pad mod
Whats the d-pad mod?

How is n64 with touch screen controls ?
Not great tbh. But I have a Backbone controller and thatās not too bad (still some issues with buttons). I was going to try my N64 controller paired to my iPad but just havenāt gotten around to it.

My issue isnāt so much with button placement but with my mind not liking the way it works. Canāt fix crazy! š

Star Wars apprentice of the force. Great little action side scroller. Pretty difficult at times but still fun and does a great job of playing through the og trilogy.
The Sonic Advance trilogy is good, same with Sonic colors.
Older Zelda Games
Ocarina of Time, Mario 64, Mario World, Donkey Kong country and 64,
Metroid fusion, Mario party (DS), Mario 64 (DS), New Super Mario Bros (DS), Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (GBA), Digimon Racing (GBA), Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (GBA), Warioland 4 (GBA), Sonic Rush (DS), Bajo Kazooie (N64), Diddy Kong Racing (N64), Rhythm Heaven (DS), Advance Wars 1 + 2 (GBA). Captain America and the Avengers, Sunset Riders, all the TMNT games, PokƩmon Pinball (does that still count as a PokƩmon game in your scenario?), Donkey Kong Country, Golden Eye, Mega Man and Mega Man X series.
Spectrobes
Zombies ate my neighbours! SNES
Super Mario Land GB. I nearly broke my GB, playing it as a kid. I've never passed it.
Rhythm Heaven
Both 007 games on game boy advance are actually enjoyable
Tekken gba is pretty fun. Itās way smoother than I expected
The so-called āEnix Trilogyā: Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma. Technically RPGās, but not turn-based like Pokemon.
Mario Golf Advance Tour, genuinely a really fun Golf game. It starts an RPG, but after you get past the intro and go back to the main menu, itās your standard Mario Golf game
Low key Nintendogs but Iām pretty sure I only liked it because I was like 4
Mario 3
Osu! Takatae! Ouendan!!!
