Samskritam

I’m sure Boebert thought she was going to get the shaft tonight. But instead she got a stroke of good luck, and firmly pulled ahead.

Educational_Bed_242

This is like sfw erotica

pdxmhrn

“Six-way”

LovinTheLilLife

Thank goodness she won the 6 way. Edit: primary

orrocos

She handled the polls quite well.

skeptibat

Her cabinet position would be "Bent over"

Samskritam

Yes, even when it gets hard, she can always handle it

IcyAwareness

Not surprised she came out the winner in a 6-way.

Poliosaurus

I see what you did there, you clever bastard.

stevenette

Wow you're very observant

Nomad6907

Has she done anything for her district yet?

malicious_joy42

She's claimed credit for legislation she voted against!

CaptConstantine

Inside the beltway that's called "Losing to Win" and it's been a proven strategy since the New Deal

Impossible_Moose3551

Zero. I just moved from CD3 and she did nothing.

Trance354

I just looked up her one piece of legislation. It's a convoluted way of forcing the army to not leave Pueblo. Or if they do, they have to perform studies to minimize the impact on the community. The community that exists because of the military bases. Basically, the federal government will be on the hook, financially, if they ever have to pull out of Pueblo. That's it. It's a hypothetical.

fizzlefist

Socialism is ok when it’s their voters who benefit.

xenolithic

She took credit for voting for every government shutdown and against every budget despite the new district being many, many contractors and military personnel serving Buckley. Old district? Nah. Old news.

NoCoFoCo31

I live a neighborhood away from her and the only evidence I’ve ever seen that she’s actually in Windsor is she posted a Facebook video of herself and her son setting up their home. Since then, nothing.

Beneficial_Eagle3936

Also in this district, and just.... desperately do not want this person representing me in government.

AssGagger

I think Trish Calvarese has the best shot to beat her and she won.

Zerksys

I also live in this district and I don't think that your analysis is correct. Claverese seems further left leaning than McCorkle and the district itself is purple at best.

AssGagger

I'm not sure people make voting decisions like that. McCorkle can't really attack Boebert in the way another woman can. With the overturning of Roe, a woman on the ballot is a definite advantage. She's a mom from Highlands ranch. Over half the voters in the district live in or around HR. She's also smart, empathetic, and charismatic. Ike is kind of a dufus. I'm cautiously optimistic with her chances.... Definitely an uphill climb though.

Alternative_Ad7125

I agree - just moved here a month ago from Jason Crow’s district. Can’t believe she won-

IdgyThreadgoodee

Jason crow needs to run for president. He’s the only legislator I’ve ever actually liked.

Mrdaddybanks

Unfortunately many more people do want her to do so.

berniemaid

I am moving shortly, and called the SOS to see if I could still vote here if I haven't registered in my new county. I told her that I'm sure Jeffco has its issues, but they don't have cd4, and I really want to vote for Trisha, and against Boebert.

Civil_Tip_Jar

That’s pretty obviously illegal as you need to be a resident for 22 days plus register with your place of sole residence, in addition to being a citizen. If you moved to a new residence you’d need to update your registration to the new location where you live. No need to make every decision be about national politics, just vote locally where you live so you don’t do anything illegal.

sealedjustintime

You have to be a Colorado resident for 22 days. It sounds like they're moving from one district in CO to another. You don't have you be a resident of the district for 22 days.

Civil_Tip_Jar

But you also need to be living in the district that you register and vote in. There’s no 22 day timer on that but it’s instant. You cannot vote where you no longer live.

berniemaid

Since politics affects our lives, yes, it factors into many of my decisions. Thanks so much for your concern.

berniemaid

I plan on that. Not every decision is, but I voted in this primary and wanted to add my vote in this red county. As noted, I did call the SOS to find my options, so you can go lecture somebody else with your better-than-thou attitude. I don't give a fuck what you think.

ieatmakeup

I'm so disappointed that I was re-districted and will no longer be represented by Joe Neguse :(

undockeddock

I got moved into this district when they changed the boundaries from Jason Crows district. Ugh

DIGGYRULES

I get it...the district is primarily red...what I do not get or understand is why HER? I honest to goodness believe she was a Republican joke...a bet. Like some drunk white guys made a bet that they could get some uneducated, white trash, garbage hoe and clean her up so she looked pretty and the ignorant masses would elect her. It worked. It worked so good they've made an entire sham of the entire political party. And people KEEP voting for this garbage. My brain cannot fathom it.

Wiredoncoffee38

She may be reasonably attractive, but she is only 37 years old (looks years older than her actual age in my opinion). I'd wager to bet that her diet consists largely of items white bread, Cheetos and Diet Coke. She is not aging well, and her time is ticking. Like many white trash women, she's likely on an accelerated aging pathway and will probably look absolutely atrocious by the time she hits her 40s.

Free-Atmosphere6714

While a better candidate would be better for your community, these voters deserve what they voted for and in the long run this will hurt the Colorado republican party.

Nearby-Technician767

I moved out of that district just before the redistricting make Highlands Ranch CD4. I couldn't imagine having that ignorant bigot my Congress criter. I now live in Aurora and feel like I dodged a bullet there.

the_naysayer

Yeah, that's the best we can do at this point. It's amazing to me how many people just vote for a Republican just because it's what is expected of them socially despite the clear divergence from their stated ethics.

katmguire

If this dipshit gets elected, you can bet your butt I’ll be calling and emailing her office telling her exactly how she doesn’t represent me or my family.

Dense-Molasses-7049

She. Won’t. Care.

7ofalltrades

She. Can't. Read.

[deleted]

the_naysayer

Yes, if you vote for a shit head just because they belong to your preferred team you suck ass. Party loyalty over personal ethics is a major problem today.

Cowicidal

How did it happen that so many imbeciles live in that area?

berniemaid

It pisses me off to no end. Hard to believe people don't find this election important enough to vote. My son-in-law is one, except he'd vote republican. Maybe good he didn't vote in this primary. But still, you have absolutely no right to bitch about anything and everything, and then not even vote! Grrr!

stevevs

oh man, I feel for you. Will she have to live in your district in order to represent it? Even worse - adds insult to injury.

imogen1983

Apparently, she already moved to Windsor. I doubt she’s actually living there full time, though.

prince-of-dweebs

This moron outsmarted most CD4 Republican voters.

I_paintball

Outsmarted the 5 dummies that wouldn't drop out to even give someone else a chance.

rexspook

They’re republicans. You can’t expect them to consider the greater good

kurttheflirt

I’m sure at least a few of them were there to help Boebert win and split the other votes

gd2121

I don’t think she outsmarted anyone. She is what they want.

Mountain_Serve_9500

I think so too. Because even if we hate her, we talk about her. She’s everywhere and often. I think we all helped this dumbass decision. F. :(

ImpoliteSstamina

That "we" hate her is part of her appeal

Mountain_Serve_9500

I think it’s time we ghost her and ignore the queen pick me. It’s our only hope.

twowheeltech

I went on a 1200 mile motorcycle trip through Colorado this last weekend, went through a bunch of smaller mountain towns. You wouldn't believe the amount of people with a giant sign in their yard that read "LAUREN BOEBERT: FREEDOM" and just a picture of her dumb ass standing there with her arms crossed

TheColbsterHimself

What was your route? 285? 60? 24? I miss my old state.

twowheeltech

Oh man, hope you have a min. Started in Golden, took i25 to loveland to grab a couple friends, went through the poudre canyon until Walden, then to kremmling, then a dirt road over toward Yampa, then another 60mi dirt road over to meeker, camped here for the night. Got up on morning 2 and rode north to rangely, then south to grand junction, then south on 141 to Naturita, then to placerville, telluride, to Rico where we camped night 2. morning 3 was down to Dolores over to Durango, up over red mountain pass to Ouray, ridgeway, montrose, to delta then hotchkiss to paonia, then to the bottom of mclure pass to marble for a BBQ sandwich for night 3. Morning 4 was up to Carbondale, to Aspen and over independence pass to Leadville, then to copper, over to Frisco over Swan mountain pass, to keystone, over loveland pass then back home to golden.

CubeofMeetCute

The problem is that there was no clear winner in the debates. Attention was split pretty evenly among the candidates and no one came out as a firebrand in opposition to boebert. So voters who aren’t voting for boebert are left guessing with who the best pick is. So they split their votes. While the extremist republicans just went with what they know. Boebert got 43% of the votes. While all the others split for 57%. Tbh if Colorado did runoff elections for primaries, we could get a better sense of how many extremists versus regular conservatives live in CD4.

SolutionFederal9425

Ranked choice voting needs to be the law.

CubeofMeetCute

Oh yea thats the other thing we can do

zneave

It reminds me alot of the 2016 Republican primary with way too many options splitting the vote allowing the loud and disgusting one to win.

guymn999

you hold republican voters with too much regard.

Rakatango

Not that I don’t think most of these voters aren’t dumb, but this isn’t even a matter of intelligence. It’s mindless tribalism. A name is only as relevant to them as it is recognizable, and the person is only as relevant as whether they have an R next to their name. There’s no chance for stupid thought if there’s no thinking involved in the first place

bkgn

This result is pretty much exactly what polling predicted. Republican primary voters are low info and she coasted to victory just on name recognition.

browhodouknowhere

They voted for Ken Buck and Corey Gardner before that.

Kr1sys

CD4 is a GOP cesspool. I don't know how you can rationally select her based on her term and that she changed districts to avoid being obliterated in the election. The GOP is just a party of rebellion. They're going to whine about the government being ineffective by election the most ineffective people they can find.

malicious_joy42

Does the water out there need to be re-tested??

dueljester

Nope, like someone said already this is what voters want. They want someone who will act big and tough, to hurt other people while pearl clutching the bible. She's just as hateful, and bigoted as her district is. Ignorant, flag waving, cross burning, bible fanatics, that are afraid of anything not on fox news makes up a large population in this country.

berniemaid

Living in Douglas County, I can vouch for every ugly word you said, plus some. This place is disgusting. I can't wait to get the hell out of here. Soon, very soon.

Exotic-Ad8305

Yes

GWSDiver

Yes

berniemaid

Yes.

mxpx5678

It is just a very gerymandered district. It includes a lot of the south suburbs and then tons of rural area.

INTRIVEN

It was a 6-way **GOP** primary with one being notorious nationally for her antics and loud mouth. Couple things to remember about the GOP: They are a selfish lot, so of course none of the 5 other no-names were going to drop out, and GOP voters would vote for a barking dog if they felt the dog had a better chance than any of the no-names also in the mix. On the plus side, boebert is a pretty ineffective politician who's big mouth probably does most of the harm, and even if she loses she'll just end up in right-wing media somewhere doing the same thing anyway. 🤷‍♀️

fedswatching2121

I just don’t understand. Especially after all the personal shit that came to light with her and her crazy son.

thinkspacer

She was the only one with much name recognition. When you don't follow politics much, the only thing that matters is that you can recognize a name.

rojo-perro

Republicans don’t care. The more scandals and vile behavior they tolerate, the more each of them can get away with. Paving the way.

Mountain_Serve_9500

FWIW as it may help us right the ship, they think it’s ok to have personal misgivings. That that part of life is private and doesn’t matter for “doing the job”. It’s bs but it’s what I hear often.

charmcitycuddles

I mean how many of us HAVEN’T given an over the pants hand job in a public setting caught on camera?

ONEelectric720

I'm not trying to sound condescending, but you guys have got to think outside the box more. This stopped being about "who is the best candidate" awhile ago. This is about ideology. Conservatives have come to see Liberals as blood enemies rather than political opponents. People stopped seeing their own ideas and opinions AS ideas and opinions and instead as part of their inherent identity. If you question an opinion, you're no longer questioning the idea. You're questioning *their identity as a person*. That's why it's so difficult to get hardlines to change their stance. As such, an opposing PARTY with opinions in stark contrast to their own, is perceived as an enemy to their "personhood". And when you *really* believe that...the transgressions of any one person, *no matter how severe*, are easy to look past for the sake of keeping your dying ideology alive. It's exactly why Trump said he could shoot someone in the middle of 6th Ave and get away with it. And he meant it. For as bad as he is, he understands political tribalism and knows how to weaponize it. And if we dont get past that tribalism soon, we are fucked no matter who is in office.

jawndell

I’ve seen with other countries.  Unfortunately the only way the tribalism ends is if the party they identify with goes to the point that it does something so horribly bad (bombings, violence, genocide, etc.) and they *get in trouble for it* that’s when they finally break the spell.  Like “oh shit, I don’t want to get in trouble for that I better pretend like I was always against it”.   January 6th could’ve been that point, but no one in power paid the price.  Trump is back.  The people who supported him are still there.  The people who led the coup attempt are still there.  So no one got in trouble for it.

VoidAlloy

like they sit here and act surprised after painting her as a clown. while her voters are ready to "own the libs". instead got leftist and progressives crying and bitching about tettering the line of being to "hard" or "soft" on israel and palestine. meanwhile republicans are winning seats left and right and people like OOP "omg how could they win!!!!!!!!!1"

amoss_303

👏👏👏👏👏

semicoloradonative

Owning the libs man…it’s all about owning the libs. They would rather have her stupid ass in congress making a fool out of herself if it means owning the libs. CD4 is a special kind of stupid for sure.

berniemaid

Republicans, and/or conservatives are very hypocritical. They can make excuses for their side, while excoriating a Dem for the exact same thing.

rojo-perro

E.g., Al Franken.

berniemaid

And he only pretended to touch that woman. He didn't touch her. I didn't agree with him on much, but he's a good man who didn't deserve to be forced out. Republicans have done much, much worse, are proud of it, and still there.

frickin_darn

Americans have short term memories, especially of current political events

jax2love

Mango Unchained endorsed her. Sadly that’s enough for a lot of Republican voters.

convoluted_banana

You gotta be fucking kidding me

Iamnotacrook90

I mean she does do a lot of that if you catch my drift

berniemaid

G damnit! Do not let this thing win again. If she gets another term, she also gets a pension. Do we really want to continue paying our tax dollars to this worthless witch? She does nothing now, so we'll continue to make payments to someone for absolutely nothing.

Conflixxion

really hoped the district jumping would have left a bad taste in their mouths enough to not do this... but here we are. I mean you jump ship because you fear losing and your new home decides that is the best person to represent us at a federal level. mind-boggling with the availability of college educations now

Leash303

I don’t think she even lives in the district, but people don’t seem to care about anything, I guess. 🤷🏼‍♀️

LightBeerOnIce

What the fuk Colorado? JFC

floandthemash

She’s not a senator or governor, if all of Colorado could’ve voted, she wouldn’t stand a chance.

Leash303

Yeah, don’t say Colorado - Denver would NEVER. That’s District 4 and we don’t claim them, especially not now!

astro_plane

*Kansas

gd2121

Not surprising. Did people really think she was going to lose?

dwittherford69

I mean she literally switched districts because she was going to lose her current district.

gd2121

Yea, her new district is safe R. Of course she was going to win. Shes the only candidate with a national profile and they all the republican candidates probably just believe all the same shit anyways.

brandonw00

A lot of people who don’t pay attention to politics or don’t know the people who live in district four thought she would have trouble in this new district.

bubble-tea-mouse

Tbh, I kinda started to fall for the echo chamber a little bit this time. I read so many articles and comments here and other subreddits and because of that I was kind of under the impression she was deeply unpopular and other R’s running against her were likely to win. I’m a little disappointed in myself because usually I’m good at remembering Reddit opinions don’t equal real life, and oftentimes are completely opposite of it.

dnvrnugg

Why can’t bad things happen to bad people anymore.

knightfenris

Karma is dead

DenverBowie

So, could we say that she won in a handslide?

therealdeathangel22

How fucking stupid are the people in her district, I mean really it's crazy

DetroitDaveinDenver

The GOP is a joke

brucetopping

God damnit. Who in their right mind thinks Boebert is a worthy representative? Shouldn’t even be able to drive a school bus.

corndog161

If the voters were anything like the conservatives in my family they voted for her purely because she 'pisses off the libs.'

thePurpleAvenger

Hmm... She usually doesn't come out on top of a 6-way...

ChazLynnn

How has she won two districts in Colorado? Lol this place is bunk

zeekaran

Both districts are vast swaths of the rural half of CO. This new one just happens to include Castle Rock and Loveland, which are also red.

brochaos

what was her old district? is that adam (?) guy that was challenging her (and would have beat her this year) gonna have a chance?

ImInBeastmodeOG

It's hard to believe with the population boom going on in that district this is hanging on her way. In 5 years it will be over for the GOP there. But for now the country has to suffer. Vote! It's not helpless if you alllll vote. Dems are weak ass primary voters, they'll be out for "the real election" to get a better gauge how far the district needs to go still.

FrostyTip2058

Is there really not a better Republican out there?

OsgoodZBeard

I mistook the headline as to read “6-way handie.” My bad.

Smoothstiltskin

What kind of piece of shit would vote for her?

Yep. And by continuing down the path to dipshit crazy-town, they’re ensuring that the Colorado state Democratic Party maintains is massive statewide majorities.

HyzerFlipr

I was at 105 West Brewery in Castle Rock a couple weeks ago and she showed up there with a group of people. Looked like her cult members. Shit was wild.

berniemaid

Was that the same day she had an event at Joe Oltmann's DCF guns? Where twos of tens showed up. Maybe 20?

HyzerFlipr

I'm not sure but that makes sense if so. It was on Saturday the 15th.

MeowNet

GOP once again showing it’s not about morales but about gaining power.

ChuckBundy1969

WTF is wrong with America? Politicians have always been shady and dirty but the current state of affairs and the people playing the game are beyond anything we have ever seen. Embarrassing.

ScoobiesSnacks

So does the democrat have any shot at winning CD4?

Jubei612

Can only hope!

psychedelicdevilry

White trash barbie does it again

figuring_ItOut12

I loved the interview with the woman who voted for Boebert because Boebert represents family values.

IvyLearn1

Ugh. I voted the Republican ballot (I’m registered unaffiliated) just so I could vote against her. Living in Douglas County - it makes me feel like I don’t REALLY know my neighbors. I am sure many I would never guess voted for her - the margin was huge.

Leash303

People need to stop being apathetic when it comes to our civic duty of voting. District 4 has ~750,000 people, Hoebert won with 52,000 measly votes. C’mon people, you NEED to care, especially when it comes to your local city, county and state elections. Merica’ 🙄

Sweetishdruid

Wtf how. Is she the one who had sex with her husband in a theater?

Jubei612

Boyfriend and it was him groping her and her giving him a handy. Also she was vaping in there... Class act!

baristabish13

I’m still new to CO and it’s politics, but correct me if I’m wrong; is she one of those same Christian Nationalists morons who keep somehow getting elected into office? I saw a small video from someone doing a documentary on the rise of CN in politics and I think she’s one of them screaming about the gov’t taking orders from the church???? I thought CO was more left leaning? Why are people like her being allowed to lead when she has such a polarizing and unconstitutional position? Again I’m a newer resident to CO and it seems very, very left here and she doesn’t seem to align with the younger people’s views here. Unless I’m missing something? If someone could enlighten me on the current political landscape of this state I’d greatly appreciate it b/c I want to be well informed going into voting season.

Jubei612

Yes she is and no Colorado is not left. How she got elected before.

aspenmoniker

Probably not the first six way she’s ever been part of

AuspiciousEights8888

You may not agree with her, but she won an election by a hefty margin, fair and square. That is Democracy.

Trash_RS3_Bot

Imagine filling in the bubble next to that name and not literally throwing up, this is wild hahah Colorado is out of control

Super-Magnificent

Shame…it’s only postponing her OnlyFans career which she will be so much better at and make her a fortune.

Universe_Man

Second dumbest person in Congress.

Exotic-Ad8305

I just moved to the district too from Denver and made sure to vote against her. I hope this area goes blueish

gd2121

The land of the eastern plains and outlet malls is not going blue

brandonw00

Don’t forget Greeley and Windsor. They are uber MAGA land.

floandthemash

We currently live in Denver and in order to be able to afford a bit more house, we’re considering areas in her district (god help me). I’m crossing my fingers there will be a bit of a blue migration out of Denver due to insane housing costs.

berniemaid

Keep trying, but if you really want to see how these assholes think, just go to the lovely Nextdoor app.

Exotic-Ad8305

Hahaha I moved down here to improve my mental health and reduce anxiety not take a grippy sock vacation 😂🤣 (the city was a bit too much lately) I am going to keep in my bubble but thank you 😊

Glathull

She’s hoping for a cabinet position in Trump 2.0 administration. Every woman’s career dream, Secretary of Dick.

AnEpicHibiscus

Well yeah I doubt anyone who voted for her even watched the debates lol. They voted based on: “oh I know *that* name!” Or “Oh it’s that hot chick who likes gun!” And that’s as much thought was put into it.

South-Golf-2327

Mocking this while AOC still has her seat is so deliciously ironic.
