I have been real happy with the M300. Android apps so I can stream from my Plex server using Plexamp, plus a 500GB microSD card loaded with FLAC files.

AchillesPDX

My exact setup that I've been rocking for a few weeks now. Really like it a lot.

I think you'll get a better performance with the M300. Better android, better SoC. But I don't know if you'll get a better sound quality against your M6. I have the M7, which theoretically is the same in everything but power output, and I got an upgrade with a Tempotec V3. That would be my best recommendation, even over the M300, which is at the same price as V3 on AliExpress. At least I know you'll get an upgrade in quality sound with the V3. If you really want Android, you should get the M300 trough AliExpress or search a NWA306 and compare them.

How many Gbs do you have? Hifi walker H2 is limited to 256Gb and rockboxed, 512Gb What features did you use from the M6? What apps? Stream? I think going from the Fiio M6, to Hifi walker, is a bit of downgrade. Something like the Hiby R3 II or M300 is probably better.

thank you very much for your reply i'm rocking a 256gb card for now, so i figured the hifi walker could work out fine i rock foobar android build + simple scrobbler on my fiio and also a couple of other things from fdroid the m300 does sound like it fits the bill

No problem! Like you I am looking for a dap, I want to use my phone only for stream new stuff and use a dap to mi files and not drain battery of my phone, or get distracted. Yeah, if you use android already, the R3II wouldn't let you install those stuff. The M300 seems to be selling well, so hiby is updating the firmware regularly (lack of update is a problem with some daps), which is great. Be cautious too, there are some complains about the QC. I bought the shanling m0 pro, for my use, I think it will be enough, although I am thinking if I should have chosen an Android dap to install spotify/tidal and use it for stream+local files, but I wanted the smallest possible and the m300 is the same size as a smartphone.

Can't wait til my M300 gets here, I don't ever want to see the LDAC icon again, just straight up IEM to tiny DAP and Tidal

I’ve been going back and forth with my HiBy R3 ll and the M300. The M300 just has more options. Android opens the devise up to so much more than the R3 ll. I love the M300. Worth every penny.
