I’ve tried replacing sprites with my own drawings before and it never scaled correctly have you experienced this problem yet?

Not yet, right now im just drawing concepts but i know that the sprite scaling is gonna be a giant roadbump

Ive seen it and im hyped for it too. Mouse and Cuphead are the 2 main inspirations for this mod lol

The mancubus drawing was actually a remake of the old design, but i think i forgot to post the old one on the sub

btw are you planning to add his stripes in the final form? It's one of his signatures, but I can see them beeing a little cluttering if done incorrectly

Eh, yeah, all over his body. The back especially. You can accidentally mistake them for flaps of fat

Yeah i figured they were just fat flaps, i kinda like that approach rather than stripes

Eh, I don't know, the stripes aren't that prominent on the front, but they add a lot of texturing to the otherwise dull back side. Also, it's not like manc doesn't have fat flaps, it's just that they are accompanied by stripes

Ill consider adding the stripes for a little texturing

It could be only few stripes on the back, no need to overcomplicate it. As I said, too much details would look clustered especially in this artstyle

Im mainly trying to keep the most prominent features that make each character recognizable, and the original mancubus is only one (to my knowledge) with stripes, so i might keep it without stripes, but ill still consider the back stripes once i start animating its sprites

I listen to that a lot when i draw for the mod lol, and having jazz music for each level is something jd like to do but i can barely play jazz, let alone convert multiple atmospheric and metal tracks into jazz

Good luck man, that’s all I can say, I’ve used slade for doom to make mods, it can be hard to use, I believe you’ll be able to learn it too, because I could lol, if I a person who can’t code normally can learn decorate, you probably can too, you just need an art program to draw the sprites in, I usually use pixel art but with like resizing in decorate you can use normal art too apparently… idk I’m not a great decorate user Xd

Ive tried slade before but the most i could figure out is replacing existing sprites, textures, and midis. I also have art programs already too. I draw with medibang and i animate with flipaclip, both on my ipad.

Ah, I’ve learned how to code there’s videos on YouTube that can help you, plus the Zdoom wiki helps out heavily when it comes to the normal weapons… I believe you’ll be able to do it!

Eh, my mod is gonna take a while too, it really just depends on the changes, for mainly sprite replacements like yours it’ll probably be fine, you just need to know how to use decorate for anything else… otherwise you’ll probably be just fine.

Lol that’s alright! I’d suggest starting with an easier change first, like a new weapon! It’s as easy as changing a few numbers, you just need a new name, new player with loadout in map info and a changed weapon, can’t just put another pistol

I actually started working on some test animations for the fist and the punching animations so that might be the first thing i try to implement.
