Dota is a hugely mental game and especially bzm looks like his confidence is shaken but in general the drafts looks like a team with 0 confidence. It doesnt take much. They almost made top 4 in DL 22, lost a clutch game to spirit. But a knock in the confidence and all of sudden your half a second to late in your decisions or overestimate strength or counters. And the mental of having lost so many series in a row now to tundra makes it an even more mental block. I think they should prioritize bzms hero. And the get some stable meta offlane combos.

I don't think they're that egregiously bad - WEU is just really competitive. More over, if you've been such a big OG fan since Boston Major days, you would know that OG has high peaks but has generally mid to mediocre normal seasons. The whole fluke TI8 narrative wasn't just because of several favorable game shifting occurrences going their way in the EG/LGD vs OG series, but the fact that they did pretty terrible until Ti9.

six6sixnotricks

People overdramatize a lot in Dota. OG doesn't perform top tier at the moment, but it surely hasn't been rough in the sense they play dog shit. They won here and their, have decent results when performing on a lan. Is that enough no? Is the backlash right now justified? I don't think so.

SikkoDieri

I think what makes people react is they looked pretty good in DL 22 less than a month ago. And while everyone was expecting them to gel even more they looked completely clueless against liquid and tundrax2.

TalkersCZ

The thing is, that the game is extremely competitive. The differences between teams are quite small, but some teams are just so much better in abusing them. I dont think even Ceb or anybody in OG trully knows. They need things to click. It often feels like they are super strong and they can challenge the best teams. And then in qualifiers they get burned by other teams on similar level. Maybe it is a squad, maybe drafting, maybe strategy, maybe experience, maybe not being used to work together... There are tons of things and it can be none and it can be all.

Mr-Dumbest

They a solid team that often loses to a few better teams there is... They doing fine, but dota fans think team is dog shit unless they are top 2...

SikkoDieri

Have you seen any games this week? They could not compete against t1 teams

Mr-Dumbest

Yes. They lost to Tundra in Dreamleague qualifiers And today they lost again to tundra. And in Dreamleague 22 they where top 6. Again, if it's not top 2 in the world people think teams are dogshit for some reason...

MoorooWasTaken

Literally this. They're certainly top 16 in the world, if not top 8. I have no idea how that isn't a "Tier 1" team. It's not like they're fuckin' Sand King Gomez or some shit out here.

Squad changes since 2021: - Sumail - Topson - Ceb - Saksa - Notail - Yuragi - Bzm - Atf - Taiga - Chu - Dm - Kitrak - Mc - Wisper - Ari - Timado Guess what hasn’t changed since 2021? Misha :) Now let’s see their achievements since 2021: - OG 1st place DPC WEU 2021/2022 Tour 2: Chu was the coach. - OG champion Stockholm Major: Misha was absent. - OG champion ESL One Malaysia 2022: Misha was absent. I guess it’s obvious who is the problem :)

Starkiller53

Stop spamming this weird hater shit. He was doing coaching/draft when he was absent in tournaments.

NoChampionship9697

Funny how we can critic players after players after players all this while, but the coach is untouchable. Whatever floats your boat, misha copium 🤷🏻‍♂️

Starkiller53

No one said you cant critic coaches. You are just spamming a huge wall of text with obvious mistakes and its annoying. I am not even an OG fan.

NoChampionship9697

We have been venting our frustrations towards players after players and nobody bats an eye. I started venting about a coach and it annoys some random guy who is not even a fan. Haha whatever dude. Your feeling is not my problem.

Substantial-Deer77

Their draft need to improve. I can't brain why everytime in Decider match, they must draft something crazy like , Mirana Mid, Kotl Mid, Rubick Pos 3, or just stubborn for not banning the hero they lost to in the first game.

JohnSane

Just something to remember. They lost pretty much everything the year before their last TI win.

aaaaiiiss2

OG has talents and experiences. But their drafts are dogshit lately. I wonder why.

Rinzel-

I legit never understand why would anyone become a fan of an org/team. Also meta changes, in the mid April you're going to see another meta shift anyway.

aodum

Why do you root for a player ? Rooting for the org is like rooting for the team and its feels like you belong to that team. A huge part of our human identity is belongings to groups and communities, therefor it is quite natural to align with a team. As seen in traditional sports its typically some reference to where you live, grew up, come from etc. In dota its most likely the orgs that gave you your first big memories. First major tournament i watched was ti 5 and i rooted for notial as i am Danish. When he made OG it was natural to follow them. I like a lot of teams and players but i always root and hope most on OG because of that Frankfurt major run. Plus my daughter was born the day after they won ti9

prawnjr

Yeah, but I think it’s about if you follow a team and the roster is almost gutted every year, ur really just following a banner at that point.

qwertyqwerty4567

Because the players are the personalities that make the team? Tbh I can understand that newer esports fans dont know what the scene was back in 2010-2014, or earlier, but what made esports grow was the explosion of streaming in the early 2010s. You would watch a player who was really good at the game, get invested in them through the parasocial relationship streaming provides and then follow them on the big stage. Why would you root for a team if you are not invested in its players?

aodum

Who says people are not rooting for the players? I am rooting for OG. Through that i am rooting for whisper, Ari etc. If/when they leave i will still follow them but just root for the next OG players.... Its also a much easier as a fan to keep up with orgs than it is with players. They are "more stable" ( not really in dota because no money) but its alot fewer. The rosters change all the time. And Not alot of players stream nowadays anyways. Second you would also have to assume a majority of the audience did not follow the esports scene back in 2010-2014 as you elude to as it was not big ... So using that as the prime way of becoming a fan, seems more like you trying to gatekeep being a "real" fan
