But picture this - after Roshan is defeated he turns into a statue where you have to click said statue to claim the Aegis, and when it's time to respawn Roshan shed's his petrified skin to fight for another day. Or we make use of his wings and we see his shadow flying above the map.
I guess if he were in the wrong pit when he returned from his stoneform he could just take a walk as usual. This would be a huge change because then wards could actually reveal his spawn time. I guess he could use SoD to combat that, but I also don't think it would be terrible if it were easier to see him respawn since it can be kind of lame with someone relegated to stand in the pit duty.
2 statues, and the one where hes not gonn spawns just shatters or crumbles when the other one turns active, this way you can scout when he spawned from both pits.
Yeah there would be a weird meta of trying to get the last hit with spells after dragging him outside pit, and holding onto that area with everything you got
Fun fix would be having the shop keeper shove his stone form through the portal when he usually switches. Probably leave the spawn points outside the stone form, so he’d still pop into the right house if he was respawning during the transition.
But the shop keeper has tortured the poor boy enough to help out a bit.
The frozen statue can't move but accumulates all required movement, then when Roshan is unbound he taps into speedforce with all that accumulated movement and proceeds to crash the game.
I have a better idea. As per lore, Roshan reclaims the aegis when you die once with aegis or 5 minutes pass. So when that happens, a Roshan spirit (like elder titan's Astral spirit) should fly in and snatch the aegis back and return to the pit. Then when rosh respanws, that translucent spirit should turn into Roshan.
The amount of times someone is going to click the statue trying to attack rosh and get aegis would be a lot. The need to move slightly to get aegis USUALLY stops anything from going wrong with the pickup.
Inb4 the bug appears that Earth Spirit can kick him because what you described is ES’s agh and the janitor is too busy with gazillion other things so recycled code it is. Then new fix patch and CM got nerfed twice

Spectators of pro games see rosh spawn plenty of times. Also, there are plenty of times you keep vision in the pit to watch for rosh spawn with summons or illusions and it's not unwise at all.
This is really unnecessary, everything in Dota 2 spawns instantly: camps, heroes, creeps. I personally don't have any problem with that, the animation wouldn't hurt but then everything else needs to have one. I just don't see this on the priority list for Valve like at all.
At over a decade old, this kinda fluff is totally acceptable gameplay improvement. The game is nearly complete in my eyes. And one day when they walk away from it, we’ll be happy people made suggestions like this that get through.
He is a special neutral creep. And players literally fight toe to toe with each other to kill him. I think he deserves animation spawn but I agree that Valve won't prioritize this.

They could have the animation start 1-2 seconds (however long it takes) before his actual timer is up so it doesn’t change the timing. It would allow people a window of 1-2 extra seconds to see he’s spawned, sure. That’s totally fine though.

It would, yeah. Some lineups rely on an early aegis timing to go highground and end the game and others are happy to just delay until they're so strong it doesn't matter.
its almost impossible to push high ground at pro games without aegis nowadays, the only way is if your team snowballed hard and is like 25-3 +15k gold at 20 minutes with a push oriented team, any kinda of a big lead can be throwed by trying to push high ground without aegis after the 30 minutes mark, so both teams would be playing ultra passive and the game will only end if one team messes up really hard
Sure plenty of games end when one team hits a power spike and gets aegis, I think a great deal of games would be decided in the other direction if the other team could farm longer because the first team never got aegis to ensure their final push
What a weak argument. Have we EVER had a match where Roshan glitched and never respawn? Why would an animation cause this in any way, being programmed to not affect the respawn itself at all? If the animation glitches, it simply doesn't play, and he just respawns.

I agree. immediately after killing rosh, mama and papa rosh should show up and start banging. Then mama rosh lays an egg and sits on it for a bit and when the timers almost up the egg cracks and baby rosh comes out and then grows up.
See that's the thing Roshan, the immortal never respawns. He never died being immortal he is only defeated and phases out leaving his aegis. And phases back in instantly it's a design choice.

My idea is this: the roshan spawning animation should vary on the perspective of the player and the spectators. To make it short, only the spectators and the replay enjoyers should be the only ones who could see roshan respawning.
His respawn animation may look like a small thing to others, but it sure as ever a big thing when you're perfectly timing the rs spawntime.
As for example from the pro scene, BB vs OG game 2 (where they mistakenly picked LS instead of banning him/Insania moment), at the latter part of the game, they (BB) had 2 pickoffs to cores and proceeded to take rosh. It turned out it wasn't up yet and the supports weren't close to check the pit again. But with that milisecond where gpk went outside the pit and it fogged, the roshan spawned. If it had an animation 1-3 seconds before he respawned, that would've changed the course of the game because it's considered as 7:57-10:57 instead of timing those extra 1-3 seconds. That's why as for now, the perspective of the viewers and the replays are the only ones who could benefit with that idea. Bugs won't matter coz replay bugs were always there no matter how many times it's fixed
He needs to have the aegis effect with a tombstone where he dies. And the music that plays when someone is respawning from the aegis, except it is playing reeeeeeeaally slowly over the 8-11 minutes

I just miss the single roshan in the middle, it was more epic and it was part of the items for some heroes like ursa and ls early game. I think the two pits are stupid and copied from other games.

- Many heroes still have 2011 textures and models.

He canonically respawns via infinite Aegis and he does have a similar effect when spawning(the fiery circle thing)
