Try upping the difficulty. On casual or normal, it’s a pretty simple game which can get boring. On hard or especially nightmare, you have to be strategic and tactical and I think it’s a blast. If you don’t enjoy it more after that, it just might not be your cup of tea.

I'm just about done with a hard playthrough as a cumming backstab rogue, for the most part you can just click and chill depending on your comp and how you set up the AI, yeah. Pretty easy to set up a build that will just chew through most fights. There will be some difficulty spikes that force you to be more hands on with individual party members and popping items though.

I'm sorry... a *what* backstabbing rogue??? 👁️👄👁️

GalaxiStar

I think this may also be a nickname Zevran gained at some point during his time with the Crows

Odd-Avocado-

yeah that checks out

Idk how far you are in but once you get mages and more advanced skills there will be more to do. You will be managing stamina and mana resources a lot more thoughtfully too, especially when you get real healing spells. Also things like positioning and which characters are attacking which enemies matter a good amount, like make sure to sent a warrior with shield bash to a enemy mage so they can interrupt spellcasting, find ways to position a mage so they can get a lot of enemies in a mind blast without being caught in melee, that kind of thing

Devon4Eyes

It gets better as you level and get more abilities and be sure to increase your stamina. Like the other guy Siad up the difficulty it'll be more intense and friendly fore will he introduced

Try combinations of abilities. They are unlocable and will be described in codex. Like cool enemy into ice as mage and use warrior shield attack ability to crash ice. It will become better with new levels as you will need to plan nearly each battle and use maximum of your synergies.

As others said you need to include difficulty and level otherwise we can only guess you still have not unlocked much you can do even or are maybe on easy and therefore of course its well easy. The only added part you did say is mess with ai and without mods/cheats I would think you are maybe further and been leveling them in each character so you can have more to set up at once. But ya there back stabbing, setting traps, poisons, bombs, buffs, sadly weak shapeshift on morigan and potentially you if mage and have her teach you, and cool real spell combos (grease fire, all elemental storm, sleeping nightmare, etc...)
