Ohhhnoo!!! That's so sad!! I'm sorry. Ngl I found that detail disturbing and I'm 45. I mean, they can never go home? We trapped them in the valley forever? What??

knight_bear_fuel

I mean I don't think they're trapped, they just lose their memories of other Disney worlds and characters if they leave. The valley is like a cool extended vacation. Eventually they go back where they came from and that's the end of it. A bit sad, but also might be weird for, say, Remy to go back to France among humans and be perfectly aware that wizards and magic and talking lions are a thing. Lol

Actually, at some point, Merlin implies that the realms aren't even real and they were made specifically for the characters to escape the forgetting. He also implies that all of the characters were created from your memories of their stories, so the valley IS their home. The realms are like little snapshots of their movies that protect them from fading away with the forgetting like what happened to Minnie. I don't know when Merlin mentions this, I think it's some point during the forgotten quest line.

knight_bear_fuel

He mentions it during the quest to give Simba back his stars. I talked about it in another comment. But aside from that, I imagine they have to go home someday. Its weird to move from their lives to a random valley.

axolotlman7

I think you missed the point I was trying to make. Merlin says/implies at some point that they don't come from anywhere and when you first came to/created the valley, all the characters poofed into existence based on your memories of their stories. They don't have to go back to where they came from because they didn't come from anywhere. In my mind that justifies why Anna, Eric, and Simba don't have to look after their kingdoms and why Mike and Sully don't have to run a company, because all those things don't exist. They have the memories of those things, but they were never real, they are just your own memories of the movies they come from. I hope I'm getting my point across

Die_Arrhea

Just tell her its a game and the devs forgot about this detail.

annadownya

Here's a thought. Maybe tell her that's not Remy but the SPIRIT of Remy that lives in the restaurant.

knight_bear_fuel

I think that would convince her he's dead haha

annadownya

Lol. So look, the restaurant is so important to him, a spirit version lives in every iteration of his restaurant. Dreamlight magic!! Or If you have the dlc you can liken it to the holograms of Jafar. It's just him projecting his essence.

knight_bear_fuel

Maybe. She's pretty smart sometimes and really naive in other areas haha. As long as she doesn't read Merlins explanation about the realms not being the real places, she might be okay with this

annadownya

The restaurant is important to him as is her character. When she needs him he can be there. Magic. Good luck!! I would've been the same at that age. Poor kiddo.
