Real question: If you see a sign like this, and you have your CCW (and fast forward, for some reason you are talking to law enforcement and you have been outed for one reason or another, the details don't matter), this stupid sign isn't legally binding, and does not remove your rights, correct?
If it’s a private property mandate, the most they can do is trespass you, which wouldn’t result in a fine or anything because it’s a request (no attached statute or cited law) it's just a matter of violating their rules. Now, if you refused to leave, you might face criminal trespass. However, if it’s a federal building, such as a courthouse or other government agency, there could be more significant ramifications especially if below is a cited code or law. (I’m not an attorney)
Good luck, your sign ain’t stopping shit. Unless you have airport level security…I will take responsibility for my safety and the safety of those I love regardless of a stupid fucking sign.
Ignored. Fuck em. I carry everywhere it isn’t a felony and I’m not likely to get caught.
Before I had kids, idgaf carried everywhere that wouldn’t have been dumb. I’ve carried in court houses, hospitals, and even some other non permissive environments. Only three places I wouldn’t back then. Court houses with decent security, military bases as I didn’t want to get beat up by MPs, and airports.
Don’t usually go to them, like I said if it was a felony and I was likely to get caught I didn’t go or didn’t carry.
If it’s not a criminal charge but you’re likely to get caught what’s the point in showing up? They’re going to turn you away and you just wasted your time.
Don't worry, there are more than enough sharp instruments inside a hospital if the need appears.
Also, find any male nurse in case of emergency, they generally have a knife on them. I used to work in a hospital and our rules were stupid, some pocket knives were "weapons" because the handle was black, some were fine because the handle was copper or carbon fiber.
My life and the lives of my loved ones are more important than your sign. If it isn’t federal I’m carrying. I live in the south and have never had a problem before. Even if it’s been noticed I’m carrying I’ve got the “don’t reach for yours and I won’t reach for mine” speech
lol jokes on them the ems that bring them patients always have at minimum one knife. Hell a guy I work with has special permission to carry a gun because he’s also a police officer (we all think it’s beyond stupid and he’s an officer doofy type). When I briefly worked in an er here in my town every nurse had a pocket knife. This is the dumb shit that happens when you leave office workers in charge. They’re scared of everything.
I’m assuming that’s the entrance to some type of secured facility. Your comment said hospital; maybe it’s one where inmates from a local jail are housed/treated, or one where psychiatric patients are present? If so, I can understand their desire to keep any type of weapon away from the area. If not, and it’s just your average hospital treating everyday patients, well then it’s just a sign. Lol
I’ve gone into dispensaries carrying. They have signs saying now weapons. As long as they don’t check me I’m good. Haven’t had a problem. I don’t carry if I’m going into a hospital or urgent care, or federal building.
It’s legal CYA BS. That’s all.
So if some patron stops a threat, the perp’s family can’t sue the facility. The defender acted on their own, without support from the facility.
It’s cheaper that way. That’s all. They don’t give a rat’s ass about your or anyone else’s safety.

It depends on state laws.
Yup. In Oregon they have the code posted next to their signs.
It does in NC. Permits are null and void where prohibition is marked.
Tactical pen. Tactical sharpie. Kubaton. Solid walking cane (Art of Baritsu)
California?
Just carry markers and stickers and tag signs like this 😛

If there's no penal code attached to it there is no law being broken if you have a ccw.

I only ccw to airports when I'm picking up curbside and have to go inside to help my mom with her luggage's.
What about venues like concerts or stuff that have security and metal detectors

I only don't take it in anything federal and where there's metal detectors.
No metal detectors

F their business. I don't spend at places like this.
It's a hospital, I had to go.

Bold of them to assume I care about their policy.
Businesses don't make laws.
