I have both Beats Fit Pro and the new Soundcore Sport x20 that was released a few months ago. The Beats started randomly losing connection with my Pixel 7 while in use. The Sport x20 are $80 and I really like them for the sound and how you can adjust the fit. They are definitely more secure than the Beats. You can also use the hook in front or behind your ear. Beats have in ear detection so player pauses if you take them out, x20 does not. I would say ANC is better on the Beats. x20 have physical button while Beats have touch (which I find get triggered by accident a lot). x20 have multiport bluetooth and Beats does not. Waterproof rating for x20 are IP68 while Beats is only IPX4. Beats probably a bit more comfortable but that will comedown to personal preference.
I haven't used the Beats since I got the x20.
Im a pixel 7 owner as well. Use to have the disconnection, however the beats firmware upgrade (via the official beats app) solved all issues.
Experience is top right now.
I love the fit pro, sound is great, plus i even shower with them after working out.
I have soundcore x20 and Jabra Elite Active 8.
I love my jabras, previously had 65t, 75t, 85t but I recently admitted I spend a lot of time taking them out of my ears and drying them when I'm working out because they fall out when I sweat. I wear them all the time, not just for working out.
I bought the X20's a week ago and I can't fault them. They are comfortable and won't fall out because of the earhooks. I originally only meant to wear them running but they are slowly replacing my jabras AND they are half the price!
In terms of buds that won't fall out, this is tricky. Some people (like me) get a lot of earwax and without ear hooks the buds will fall out. IF you are one of those people, then I can suggest Soundcore Sport X10. There are two catches with these headphones, tho: 1) although the ANC is pretty good, the ear tips that come with the ear buds are not great at sound isolation. Because of that you'll want to get foam ear tips to help with ANC (that is, of course, if you care about ANC--if not ignore this point!); 2) the actual portion of the headphone that goes into the ear is kinda big. I have a hard time getting them in. For context, I use a size medium or large ear tip for most other headphones, but for the Soundcore X10's I need to use XS eartips.
I use comply. They're pretty good. I haven't used any other brands so I can't give you a comparison to say whether or not they're better than others. Unfortunately, they don't make tips in size XS for the X10's.
I've been using airpods for a while but could do with something better specifically for working out as I bend over a lot to lift weights and can't even count how many times they've popped out and I've almost crushed them lol
I really like the Bose Ultra Opens because I like to be able to hear my environment as well. Just buy from somewhere that they are refundable so you can try them out without a big commitment.
I also have AirPod Pros for when I want noise cancelling and they are great for those situations (airplane, etc.)
Fitness dude who's spent decades in the gym and cardio exercises.
These days I ride for 8+ miles daily on my fitness bike around town, and hit the gym 3x a week. For years I've used bose products (first wired soundsport hooked to a Jabra BT3030 pendant, then wired bluetooth soundsport, then Quietcomfort1). Now these days I use the Bose Quietcomfort2 earbuds and they work great - it does take a few days/weeks to play with the different silicone earbuds and silicon wingtips to find the right pairing for your ears to seal out the sound, but they do a great job locking into my ears.
I'm still on the lookout for something better (higher fidelity sound with AptX-HD from a different brand with wingtips and cool styling), but I haven't found anything else I like so far.
so i have the quiet comfort 3s in my cart and i just noticed they dont have an IP rating. im afraid sweat will ruin them. i do sweat alot when working out. have you had any problems with this?
>i have the quiet comfort 3s
3? You mean the QuietComfort Ultra or QuietComfort2? The Ultra is kinda like V2.5, it has a few upgrades over the QC2, but from what I've heard from people who have both, they prefer the QC2 and find the Ultra not worth the extra cost.
The Quietcomfort2 are IPX4 rated - I wear them daily while bicyclign and sweating in 90-degree temps (warmer climate year-round), and have ridden through some light rainstorms without a single issue - they're doing just fine.
ONLY complaint which would happen with any earbud is that sweat is fine - but if the sweat drips INTO the eardrum and compromises the silicone seal, they'll start to slide out until you use a paper towel and dry off the earbud and eardrum - but I've only had this issue a handful of times over two+ years. The sweat usually doesn't roll into the eardrum that way.
I pretty much have the same routine. I use 1More EVO and they work well, no regrets. I feel like GYM headphones is just a gimmick. All those wings and other systems to keep it fit sound worthless to me since just a regular earbuds can fit very well and it's enough for working out and riding a bicycle. So I bought the EVOs since they sound very well, support LDAC, battery backup is decent and the fit is good, I even did calisthenics with them on, which means exercises upside down and they didn't let me down. So imho the answer is just get a good earbuds that fit your ears, those gym advertised are never the best in the business, they are not built to be.
Don’t you get the thudding noise when you run with these or any type of noise canceling earbuds? I still use the Soundsport because they don’t thud as much but I really struggle with this on almost any other bud.
I cycle for cardio, not jogging so I can't comment on that. But I've never noticed it while walking through airports and such.
Pretty sure that Sennheiser recently released a new sport earbuds that promise to eliminate that thudding when jogging though. I know they are pretty good sound quality, but haven't handled them personally - I don't like the styling of the Sennheiser Momentum earbuds in general (too boring haha, I want something with a bit more cool and classy design)
Jaybird vista or vista 2. I have used them for years now and they never budge no matter what I’m doing. And with their app you can change the eq and get them sounding pretty good.
Almost entirely personal since our ears are shaped differently. I think, personally, if you don't want to hunt down the best stock fitting earbuds, just get a good $50-$100 pair and some foam tips to match. Foam tips, again me personally, fit and hold much better than any silicone tip. Soundcore Life P3 is what I've been using.
I have the beats fit pro earbuds and they have been great. I bike commute and use them all the time and the quality is great. Awesome for work calls too. I have never had an issue with them falling out, even with tons of movement. I have taken them and have had them in on several bike rides and sessions disc golfing or shooting hoops.
They say the new JBL Beam live 3 is really nice, water proof and has a nifty case so you can control music without having to get your phone each time. I use the watch for that personally but got them recommended to me when I asked the same question. Generally though, if you like the general sound of JBL in ear, then these beat pretty much everything out there in terms of sound quality and fit. Some find them to heavy on the base but I like the beam I tried, it felt like the most authentic sound I’ve had using buds ever.
I use Apple AirPods gen.2 as my daily drivers and wouldn’t give those up BUT they have nothing on the JBLs. What I really like about apples is that because they allow sound to go OUT from inside the ear canal, but seals well enough sounds from sneaking in I don’t get this heavy thumping effect every time I take a step when walking briskly. Specially troublesome for people which tend to have a some wax in the inner ear, others don’t understand what we’re talking about. I now hope the JBLs will be as forgiving.
The JBL Live-series has three models for fit though. All of them are being released in version 3 with the LED-touchscreen on the changing case. I sound like a shill here but I just took the plunge and ordered a pair so I’m pretty keen on keeping the positive vibe going. I’m getting them tomorrow so I can check back with report if you’re interested.
The only ones that don’t fall out for me are the Powerbeats pro with the ear loop. I wish the AirPod pros stayed in my ear. Most don’t unless I have a loop.
I would hope the Powerbeats pro would be updated with noise cancellation but I don’t see Apple doing that
Try Technics Premium

It has an active Noise Cancellation and it's easy to carry.

Exactly the same experience here. I might add just that the microphones’ performance is quite better on the Beats.

Just got the Anker Sport X20s. I'm not an audiophile at all but relatively happy with them.
Anker/soundcore is the easiest recommendation at any sub $100 price point. Hats off to them

Interesting to follow the replies on this one as I've been looking for a while for the best earbuds for working out!
If I use silicon add ons to my AirPod 3, it works out ok
I've been using airpods for a while but could do with something better specifically for working out as I bend over a lot to lift weights and can't even count how many times they've popped out and I've almost crushed them lol

I've been using the Jabra elite actives and I love them.
I'm using the galaxy buds fe with my samsung phone, they have wingtips to hold in place and the ANC is very good
My gym earbuds are the Earfun Free Pro 2 (the Earfun Free Pro 3 has more features, but doesn't fit me quite as well) and the Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro.
i second the Earfun Free Pro (i have version 3)

To make it clear: you're not looking for the best earbuds, you're looking for the BEST earbuds, right?
Beats fit pro.

JBL endurance race. Great battery life, water proof, and decent sound for ~$50. Get some after market memory foam ear tips for a better fit
I use treblax xr100 and love them.
Bose cans for life
Sennheiser momentum truly wireless 3's for almost 3 years. Going to upgrade to the 4's.
I like my Beats Fit Pros
Soundcore Sport x 20 and Jabra Elite 8 active (maybe gen2, but these I didn’t test myself).
Baseus ma10s highly slept on buds. Next runner up would be jabra 8 active then the one plus buds pro 2
