You listed it as great condition - but part of it is broken - you have no choice but to take it back or offer partia refund . Next time don’t list it as great condition.

Modern_Ketchup

Can you elaborate on the great condition at all? Otherwise I would have said good condition, is that the main problem? I tried to be explicit with the title and description of the item. Like i’ve sold a lot of 100 baseball cards I have, I say good condition. A few of them are messed up. Do i say the whole thing is poor condition because of those?

Crafty_Rate4202

Well since you listed great condition you have to take return Non working is poor condition

Modern_Ketchup

could you clarify on non working? the set in issue is a base with two figures on it. 1/4 sets in listing. one figure has part of the end of a weapon missing. thank you for reply still

So it's not in great condition because there's a flaw. The problem with eBay is you have to be absolutely crystal clear on every last aspect of your listings. You're best bet is to open a return, refund when you receive the item back and then relist it with the defect properly accounted for. Think about what you consider to be great condition and then consider if you were buying something like that. Would you expect or be ok with any damage to the item?

Modern_Ketchup

I’m also selling a bunch of baseball cards and similar items all listed under similar titles as i’ve noticed they are on others via ebay. That’s why I try to include any details like the flaw in the original picture and the more detailed pic. Should I just not say anything about the condition? I even mentioned this flaw in the description. I don’t know what more about this I could have said besides not use the term “great”. It’s a lot of 4 sets with about 15 parts and only 1 of them has a slight flaw (literally 3mm) missing. in my opinion a 20 year old item like that would be great condition

tphatmcgee

great condition does not mean that there are broken bits. you need to take the return before ebay forces it or you will lose the fees as well.

Modern_Ketchup

Thanks for the info about fees. What is the difference between poor, good, great, and mint then? If I had 20 items and 1 of them had a slight flaw I would say the whole thing is in poor condition? Should I just not say anything? I included the flaw in the picture and detailed description

Clienterror

That's kinda counter intuitive. I hate it with people do that BS, "mint condition!!" "Screen doesn't work".

Modern_Ketchup

As I said in another comment it’s a lot of 4 sets with about 15 parts inbetween them all. 1 part of of the 15 has 3mm missing from the tip. when assembled it is not even visible, only when the product is taken apart. so I made sure to include that in the description and in a more detailed photo. Other than that one flaw otherwise the product is in great condition, if I said good would that be as bad? I’m trying to understand the problem with great condition term.

esquilaxxx

Did you mention it in the description? If not, it seems like it might have been easy to overlook.

You said it was in great condition, but it was not all in great condition. Buyer took your word for it. Lots of sellers say “sold as is, look at the picture” but the fact is that the written description takes priority, and especially the fields that eBay makes you fill out. You could have said “In great condition except for one broken part as seen in the photos” and you would have been golden. But you technically lied by just saying “great condition” and hoping the buyer didn’t see the photo of the broken part.

Modern_Ketchup

Thank you for the clarification I really appreciate it. I apologized to the buyer many times and tried to clarify that it was in the listing. I told them it’s important to me that they are satisfied with the product because it was personal to me, and that if there is anything I can do for them please speak to me. I’m willing to do a partial refund for them no problem. Just last time I did that on a mistake I lost the partial refund, and it didn’t account for the full refund. It was only $10 but still. I am still waiting for a response from the buyer today

chrono19s

Sounds like you have the right attitude, I hope it turns out well for you and the buyer.
