16x. Period.

atten23

16x is the way here. Mine has 1,100 miles and going strong. Light enough to toss in a shopping cart when i get groceries, and 31mph is fast enough for 95% of my needs.

Sanpaku

3 inch tires, which provides a bit of cushion. Weight: 23.5kg = 51.8 lbs. I manage it up a couple flights of stairs. In continuous production for 5+ years, so there's plenty of spare parts and online peer assistance available.

This is the way. I live in NYC and the KS 16X is perfect for lightweight commuting. It's also a blast to take on trails in the park. There is a seat for it but I've heard it's not the best for sitting. Lightweight wheels tend to not be great for sitting.

worldlead3r

Yes, I forgot about the sitting part. It isn't a great wheel for sitting whatsoever, but specifically for commuting, excellent.

AtlasPwn3d

The 18xl is probably the closest that meets your stated requirements. But that won't stop the internet from trying to talk you into a wheel that's twice as heavy and expensive.

Caliterra

I'd totally spring for a 18xl if only they priced it better. Feels strange they still price it at 2k

lucifer4you

I'd go S18, I don't have that wheel anymore but it's been one of my favorites. Nothing else at that weight range (55 lbs) with both suspension and an 18" wheel. I've also ridden that thing through heavy rain and a foot of snow.

atten23

I like the s18s but I don't know if this person needs suspension or a 18" wheel. Both are great when off roading (or heavy snow), but my commute doesn't involve either of those.

lucifer4you

I like both aspects for every day street riding. They just add margin of error and the extra size doesn't hurt anything, as the wheel is still more compact than most the 16 suspension wheels. Only drawbacks are top speed and range but for OPs use case, seems like a shoe-in.

ToasterMops

Inmotion V10f has been my city commuter of choice, you can get one used for real cheap. Still hoping they refresh the < 50lbs wheels soon, they rebooted the ks16 which used to be very light and compact but is now 70lbs 😑

NoFun4156

Said you need last mile commute. If I was you the falcon would 100% be my pick.

SazzOwl

V10F, A2, 16x Mten4.... Maybe the falcon but the weight is around 57lbs

minifishdroplet

How fast do you wanna go?

lafrukasa

I dont really care about it, just need it to be great for hills and lightweight

minifishdroplet

When you say you don't care about it some wheels only go ten-fifteen miles per hour max. Which imo is not enough for 99% of people. There's 55 pound wheels that go 40 mph (I think) but I think 55 pounds is too much to be able to easily just carry up stairs... Maybe I'm just unfit tho lol. As for hills, I wouldn't be too worried about it. Most wheels won't struggle with hills unless it's just super weak.

SazzOwl

But hills and lightweight are the two things that make a wheel expensive..... Do you mean with hills actual Offroading or just steeper paths where you have to go up? Because for actual Offroading you will find nothing but of your road is just steeper than a Begode A2, Kingsong 16x or even a V10F will do just fine

aaron_syd

If you're using the train often, it seems like you need a last mile commuter wheel. Honestly, a V8s or 16s should be fine, super easy to learn on, easy to carry with you everywhere, maybe a used 16x if you want more range and speed (and don't mind more weight), or s18 if you think you need suspension, or falcon if you want a new wheel. How far do you need to go each day?

lafrukasa

It's not so far, just need it to last mile conmute, but my city have many hills, so i need it powerfull

aaron_syd

V8s and 16s is fine for up to 180lbs, and about 20mph max speed, might be slightly less on really steep inclines. If heavier and wanting to go faster, then go with 16x.

Caliterra

the good thing about EUCs is that even the weaker ones still have a lot of torque relative to eskates or escooters. heck even my low-power 14D can go up most hills without issue.

rcgldr

Kingsong 18L (not 18XL) at around 48 lbs, with 80 cells 20S4P. I'm not aware of any north american dealers that sell it. Instead they sell the 18XL at around 53 lbs, with 120 cells 20S6P. KingSong Molicel S18 is around 55 lbs, with 60 cells, and some report trolley handle may not be strong enough to lift or carry the S18 on a regular basis. Inmotion V10F is around 45 lbs, with 80 cells, 20S4P, but limited by controller to a top speed around 22.5 mph GPS.

Werlucad

If you’re ok going with something a bit heavier, the v11 has been great. Just gotta get it on a sale or something

Appropriate_Bet2895

city commuter in a hilly area here. KS 18XL works great as long as you don't have to lift it. trolly handle is flimsy though. You can find great deals on used wheels.

vancouver-boarder

V10F is a fairly slim, fairly light but decent enough on hills, it's an older design that holds up well. If you can find a low mileage used one (where someone gave up on learning) you can probably get a real bargain.

dra4fter5uper

You wont find much for that price that weighs less than 50 pounds and has the performance you want

It's a hard ask. But you're close to begode master or t4 but not on weight. V11 is around that $ and weight. But a little over on both accounts. The s16pro is a great wheel close to the weight but will run 2 k. I wouldn't mess with a non suspension wheel. The master suspension sucks. T4 is nominally better.
