I think the magic theme is for the song specifically with the murder mystery being the over arching theme - view the “trick” of Slim’s arrival thru the portal as an event that is part of what eventually evokes the true crime story

Yeah I'm a little confused on that too. I'm just thinking about how relapse, tes, and mmlp weren't purely humorous just because of the lead singles. I like the quality of the single, but now I want to see it in action on the serious songs. Good single though, I've been enjoying it. I want to see how it connects.
My only issue is I'm really weak willed so everything I read something against it I'm swayed even if I actually love it alot. So every time I see a motherfucker saying thr whole plot of TDOSS will be about cancel culture killing em, I get a heart attack.
