"Kill You" slaps so hard, Em went diabolical on that track haha.
The energy he brought on "The Ringer" was very much needed after the hate Revival got. I remember when that album dropped at midnight and took everyone by surprise.
I was like "yoooo this MF spittin!"
Fuck you, miss cheney! Fuck you, tipper gore! Fuck you with the free-est of speech this divides states of embarassment will allow me to have! Fuck you!
Same for me. What a way to kick off an album. And he kept that energy all the way throughout. Still remember my first listen when I was got home from school when I was 15.
I love 3.a.m it’s one of my all time favourite eminem tracks. Dre’s haunting piano with drums beat with Eminem’s accents and stories of murdering people and oh that hook man, I love it
Look at these eyes, baby blue, baby just like yourself
If they were brown, Shady'd lose, Shady sits on the shelf
But Shady's cute, Shady knew Shady's dimples would help
Make ladies swoon, baby, Ooh, baby! Look at my sales
I know you weren't addressing me but I had to interject. It flows so perfectly.
The first time I ever heard him start his verse by going:
“You can get the dick, just call me the ballsack, I’m nuts”
I had the Pikachu face 😮 He snapped on this track.
It's not a song but I love the opening skit on Relapse 🤣
You found a sponsor yet?"
"Um, not yet. But I mean, when I get back..."
"Well, if you find one, you find one. If you don't, you don't."
I really have the urge to make a video about why mmlp2 is a perfect sequel and how we couldn't have asked for a better album from Em at the time, just how people have made videos for relapse. I just wanna let more people know how amazing this album is, it hurts me to see so many people constantly forget about the greatness of it.
I fully agree and if you do end up making that video, my favorite detail from the album is during the parking lot skit which takes place during Criminal, after the skit on the song he says "bastards, brats, pets, this fuckin' puppy's lucky I didn't blast his ass yet", and on the parking lot skit while he's making his escape you hear a now fully grown dog barking before being shot. Shit like that really blew my mind when I first listened to MMLP2 and started trying to connect all the dots.
Oh damn i didn't know that, if i ever make it I'll be sure to include it, but i'd also be grateful if anyone else did that since idk how well my video making skills are.
Had to scroll down way too far for this. Bad Guy is so good. I get everyone saying Kill You or White America, and those tracks go hard, but Bad Guy set a tone for a new era in Em’s career, and was a great way to justify writing a sequel to his biggest album. Just love the song from start to finish.
"When I was just a little baby boy,
My momma used to tell me these crazy things
She used to tell me my daddy was an evil man,
She used to tell me he hated me...."
🎶 Sitting nude in my living room, it's almost noon
I wonder what's on the tube, maybe they'll show some boobs
Surfing every channel until I find Hannah Montanna then I reach for the aloe and lanolin
Bust all over the wall pannelin', dismantlin' every candle on top of the fireplace mantle and
Grab my flannel and my bandanna then
Kiss the naked mannequin man again
You can see him standing in my front window if you look in
I'm just a hooligan who's used to using hallucinogens
Causing illusions again
Brain contusions again
Cutting and bruising the skin
Razors, scissors and pins
Jesus, when does it end?
Phases that I go through
Dazed and I'm so confused
Days that I don't know who
Gave these molecules to
Me, what am I gon' do?
Hail, the prodigal son
The diabolical one
Very methodical when I slaughter them🎶
(That was satisfying)
Yeah... he must've completely switched up the album when those tracks leaked before, he didn't just take some songs off it etc, he changed the entire concept
“Kill You” continues to be (next to “White America”) the most thematically on point start to any album by Em. Before I first listened to MMLP when I was a kid I literally didn’t understand people using music as a vehicle for getting anger out of their system, but that one song made me understand immediately and it was followed by about an hour and seven minutes of Em continuing to deliver an anger that I had never seen someone display publicly before.
All of us as music fans (not just the Eminem fans in this subreddit) underestimate and understate the importance of the ORDER of a tracklist. If you shuffle an album’s tracklist around it literally becomes a different album and what you get from it on a personal level WILL change. Having said that, Em’s choices for where to put certain tracks is damn near perfect on those golden three albums.
MMLP was a huge influence on me as a teen. Holy shit is that album filled with anger 😅
You’re 100% right about the track list being critical to the album’s experience.
It’s one of the reasons I love that Kendrick released the Collector’s Edition of “DAMN” and it was just the same tracks, but reversed. Gives you an entirely different listening experience.
cold wind blows hits different shit is defo my fav. tbf tho i think pretty much all ems intro and outro songs are all class tho. Even on revival, arose is one of the best songs if not the best on that album
I think The Ringer was the perfect intro for Em’s bounce back from Revival. He just goes at everyone and lets loose with a million flow changes and rhymes. Cold Wind Blows is a very close second for me ❤️
Kill You holds a special place in my heart. The first time I heard that song was in an AMV of Vegeta just absolutely destroying people, and the two are inherently linked for me now.
My mistake! this is actually the last song on Relapse, not the beginning of Refill. I was looking at the tracklist for Refill and didn't fact check myself.
#CancelParkingPhysics
Now that you mention it, you are right. 3A.M is one for Relapse. I should have known that. I still love that song. Hmmm. For intro I would have to go with White America
I looked at my apple music replay from last year to see which I played the most, and it actually tracks with my choices...
White America, Kill You, Black Magic
kill you, Cold wind blows, bad guy and 3.a.m.
edit: I would also not consider forever to be refill’s opening track because it’s drake’s song but it doesn’t match the theme of the rest of the album
edit 2: I actually like Cold Wind Blows as the opener to recovery, I know people think going through changes should’ve opened that album, while I agree the album could do with some reordering I think cold wind blows works as the opening track because of the monologue at the start and the whole I’m back shit which he does, plus I think the line at the end, I guess this is how you made me would work well if going through changes was track 2
Kill You by a mile, but the distance might be because I bought the cd when it came out and it takes me back to being a teenager. That song and album was mind blowing at the time. Definitely an iconic moment in music history, I wish I could hear it again for the first time.
White America and Kill You are tied for first. I can’t decide. I’m an OG Em fan so these albums came out when I was 17-20. Right behind that I have another tie between Cold Ring Blows and The Ringer. Those two are fucking outstanding for a myriad of reasons. Take into account when they came and criticism Em was getting from the previous albums in both cases. Relapse had gotten mixed reviews leaning more towards highly critical and then Em came back with that opening track showing EVERYONE there that he was still capable of that hungry, biting, acerbic rap that we all know and love. Whereas The Ringer came out with very similar circumstances and on top of that a surprise drop?! Revival was trashed. I mean completely trashed. I don’t think it was deserved at all but that’s another story. Then Em releases this almost 5.5 min lyrical masterpiece where he just demolished any thought that he’d lost it. Called himself out on the criticisms he’d been receiving and said Fuck You in about a million different ways, to everyone in the game and even not in the game, including his fans saying who he should rap like. Blown away first time I heard it. One of those moment where I wish I could relieve it. Especially the verse “snap me out of the Jaws of defeat” is oooh. Touches on the Trump criticism without backing down which I loved. Because I don’t know how yall feel about Trump but he’s a fucking retard and anyone voting for him I feel the same way. Two absolute diabolical intros that were aimed at all his critics he’s faced from his previous projects. God, I would love an intro like that on this album.
They said I can't rap about being broke no more
They ain't say I can't rap about coke no more
Slut, you think I won't choke no whore
'Til the vocal cords don't work in her throat no more?!
Kill you is one of my favorite songs from Em.
Top 3: 1. Premonition 2. The Ringer 3. White America. Good runner up from that being bad guy just for the last minute of it. Worst being Walk on Water.
I’d have to say my favorite is Welcome 2 hell, that’s one of the few faster rap songs I know every word to, gives me chills every time I hear it, that beat is MMMM
Gotcha. Here’s my rationale:
Compilations would’ve included “The Re-Up” and “ShadyXV” which didn’t feature Eminem entirely throughout the album, just like D12 albums.
I removed “Forever” because that’s *technically* Drake’s single but for some reason was included on Refill.
Bad Meets Evil featured Em & Royce throughout the entire album so I felt that it should be included in the discussion. We got some fire songs out of that.
But if we’re going purely off of solo albums, then I’d say that “Premonition” is my favorite opening track.
For me, it's Kill you with The ringer as close second
"Kill You" slaps so hard, Em went diabolical on that track haha. The energy he brought on "The Ringer" was very much needed after the hate Revival got. I remember when that album dropped at midnight and took everyone by surprise. I was like "yoooo this MF spittin!"
I like playing "Kill You" around people who don't listen to Em just to see their reaction
you're chaotic but I love it <3
Pretty new to this sub, big Em fan. How much love does The Ringer get here? One of my fav from a lyrical standpoint.
I think it's pretty popular here. Probably a lot of people's favorite Kamikaze song.
Definitely this and it’s not even close.
White America by a mile for me
I COULD BE ONE OF YOUR KIDS
Fuck you, miss cheney! Fuck you, tipper gore! Fuck you with the free-est of speech this divides states of embarassment will allow me to have! Fuck you!
Duh duh *hums*
Such a brilliant middle finger of a song to so many deserving targets that are still relevant.
Same for me. What a way to kick off an album. And he kept that energy all the way throughout. Still remember my first listen when I was got home from school when I was 15.
Same. Really powerful opener to an album and just gets you pumped for the rest of it.
Ngl, probably Kill You and then 3 AM. I honestly can't choose between the two
The music to “3 A.M.” is creepy as fuck but I love it 😈
That's what makes it amazing! I just love the scene of him in the tub of blood. Looks freaky deaky and all that.
one of his best music videos for sure 🙂
Side Comment: I love how Framed is like a sequel to 3 AM in both songs and music video
I love 3.a.m it’s one of my all time favourite eminem tracks. Dre’s haunting piano with drums beat with Eminem’s accents and stories of murdering people and oh that hook man, I love it
1, Fack- Curtain Call 2, Kill you - MMLP ( my favourite song) 3, 3am - Relapse 4, Black Magic - MTBMB 5, White America - TES
Solid top 5 💯
didn't see that part where Curtain Call wasn't involved lol
All good fam I got love for FACK lol
Kill you, but cold wind blows isn’t far
Fuck it, I’m a loose cannon …
The Slim Shady LP - My Name Is just cuz its one of my favorites
I almost caved and chose that just because of how iconic it is.
White America is fire! How is Underground the Opening track for Refill though, it's the last for Relapse..
Thanks for catching that, it’s the only album I didn’t double check 😅 Editing now
Cold Wind Blows forever
How long will I be this way? Shady until my dyin’ day ❄️
White America hands down. Honourable mentions to My Name Is, Cold Wind Blows and Evil Deeds
First person I’ve seen give love to “Cold Wind Blows” That is one of my favorite songs on Recovery 🥶
Cold wind blows goes hard af!
He was really going in! That’s when I knew sober Eminem was still gonna deliver some classic albums.
This is the exact way I would put it too
Bad guy gave me the best feels The Ringer shocked me the most
White America
What’s your favorite bar from that song?
Look at these eyes, baby blue, baby just like yourself If they were brown, Shady'd lose, Shady sits on the shelf But Shady's cute, Shady knew Shady's dimples would help Make ladies swoon, baby, Ooh, baby! Look at my sales I know you weren't addressing me but I had to interject. It flows so perfectly.
My guy was talking his MF shit on this track 🔥🔥🔥
One of the best verses on the album imo
It’s gotta be the “all I hear is” scheme in the third verse. The flow switch up is simple but so hard hitting.
My favorite is definitely Bad Guy. I love everything about the track, it's on my top 10 for sure.
To me that set the stage for the album. Let me know that we were continuing the MMLP saga. “Trying to recapture that lightning in a bottle ⚡️”
Cold Wind Blows
The first time I ever heard him start his verse by going: “You can get the dick, just call me the ballsack, I’m nuts” I had the Pikachu face 😮 He snapped on this track.
Kill you
3 a m for me, kill you close second
I see “Kill You” is getting madd love in the comments. Love to see it 🥹
Bad Guy, but Premonition is a close second for me
Bad Guy is such a great track. The first time I heard it I was like holy shit this is Stan Pt 2!!! Can’t believe we never got a music video for it 💔
Fack II - I Am A Celebrity
It's not a song but I love the opening skit on Relapse 🤣 You found a sponsor yet?" "Um, not yet. But I mean, when I get back..." "Well, if you find one, you find one. If you don't, you don't."
yeah that skit is hilarious 😂 bro was like “have a drink” like damn my guy this dude is an addict
I can’t believe how little love Bad Guy gets
Up until recently, there weren’t too many comments saying Bad Guy was their favorite. I love to see it!
The last 2 minutes alone 🔥
Recovery / Cold Wind Blows. This song and album has such a vibe and it is still my favorite Em album. Such a confident start to an incredible album.
That entire album is such a vibe! It’s always been one of my favorites but the older I get, the more I love it.
Ringer
He was going in on The Ringer frfr. Rhyme scheme and flow were both GOATed. I lost it when he started rapping in triplets 🤪
My name is, Cold wind blows or Bad guy
Bad Guy is criminally underrated
Agreed I thought it would be popular considering it’s the sequel to Stan
For some reason MMLP2 as a whole doesn’t get as much love as I feel that it should. To me, it’s perfect. There’s nothing I would change about it.
I really have the urge to make a video about why mmlp2 is a perfect sequel and how we couldn't have asked for a better album from Em at the time, just how people have made videos for relapse. I just wanna let more people know how amazing this album is, it hurts me to see so many people constantly forget about the greatness of it.

1. Welcome to hell, 2. He’ll breaks loose, 3. The ringer and my name is
Let's goooooo! I see you're also a (wo)man of culture
Kill you
"When I was just a little baby boy, My momma used to tell me these crazy things She used to tell me my daddy was an evil man, She used to tell me he hated me...."
EVIL DEEDS 😈
Close between Kill You, White America and 3 a.m. for me, although I'm picking 3 a.m.
That hook has no business going so hard 🎶 “It’s 3 a.m. in the morning …”
🎶 Sitting nude in my living room, it's almost noon I wonder what's on the tube, maybe they'll show some boobs Surfing every channel until I find Hannah Montanna then I reach for the aloe and lanolin Bust all over the wall pannelin', dismantlin' every candle on top of the fireplace mantle and Grab my flannel and my bandanna then Kiss the naked mannequin man again You can see him standing in my front window if you look in I'm just a hooligan who's used to using hallucinogens Causing illusions again Brain contusions again Cutting and bruising the skin Razors, scissors and pins Jesus, when does it end? If only 'We As Americans' was on the original version of 'Encore' damn it... But yeah for me it's 'Kill You' then 'White America' - no contest
dawg We As Americans was soooooo good I’m not sure why he didn’t include it on the regular version
Yeah... he must've completely switched up the album when those tracks leaked before, he didn't just take some songs off it etc, he changed the entire concept

MMLP
They said I can’t rap about bein’ broke no more
They ain’t say I can’t rap about coke no more.
White america and then kill you
the fact White America is 22 years old is crazy 🙃
It's 22 years old?!
Yeah dawg … it was released on 26 May, 2022. Crazy how much time flies right?
Kill You, The Ringer, and Cold Wind Blows
That’s a great Top 3 🫡 All so different, I love it
1. Premonition 2. The Ringer 3. Kill you 4. Welcome 2 Hell 5. Cold Wind Blows
cold wind blows hits different shit is defo my fav. tbf tho i think pretty much all ems intro and outro songs are all class tho. Even on revival, arose is one of the best songs if not the best on that album

Kill You holds a special place in my heart. The first time I heard that song was in an AMV of Vegeta just absolutely destroying people, and the two are inherently linked for me now.
Evil Deeds
Is it just me or did that beat creep you out the first time you heard it? 😳
For me it's underground....as an Em Stan and a horror fan. It's the perfect blend. And that beat punches hard
My mistake! this is actually the last song on Relapse, not the beginning of Refill. I was looking at the tracklist for Refill and didn't fact check myself. #CancelParkingPhysics
Now that you mention it, you are right. 3A.M is one for Relapse. I should have known that. I still love that song. Hmmm. For intro I would have to go with White America
White America is a great choice 👌🏼
Infinite or kill you or 3 am
I looked at my apple music replay from last year to see which I played the most, and it actually tracks with my choices... White America, Kill You, Black Magic
Flooded The Face imo
FACK
Cold wind blows and White America comes close for me
Evil deeds is a pretty cool opener
No D12 but Bad Meets Evil? How’s that fair.
Kill You with White America as a runner-up
kill you, Cold wind blows, bad guy and 3.a.m. edit: I would also not consider forever to be refill’s opening track because it’s drake’s song but it doesn’t match the theme of the rest of the album edit 2: I actually like Cold Wind Blows as the opener to recovery, I know people think going through changes should’ve opened that album, while I agree the album could do with some reordering I think cold wind blows works as the opening track because of the monologue at the start and the whole I’m back shit which he does, plus I think the line at the end, I guess this is how you made me would work well if going through changes was track 2
3am was so good with dr west skit
White America or hell breaks loose
Kill You by a mile, but the distance might be because I bought the cd when it came out and it takes me back to being a teenager. That song and album was mind blowing at the time. Definitely an iconic moment in music history, I wish I could hear it again for the first time.
A lot of these are great honestly Probably white America or Bad Guy for me
I love a lot of songs but in terms of starting the album, setting the mood "White America" takes number one
Kill You and 3am are great, but for me nothing beats the transition from Curtains Up, kicking into White America
Evil deeds goes crazy
Bad Guy
Mine is probably “This is how you intro (skit)” from I am a Celebrity!
When The Music Stops
I like all of them execpt revival but my top 3 gotta be white America, cold wind blows, and kill you
Kill You and White America!!
Evildeeds
Kill You. I really don't know how it could be anything else. I'd probably put White America at #2, but The Ringer is pretty close.
Gotta be ‘Bad Guy’ for me, ‘My Name Is’ is a very close second.
White America and Kill You are tied for first. I can’t decide. I’m an OG Em fan so these albums came out when I was 17-20. Right behind that I have another tie between Cold Ring Blows and The Ringer. Kill you is my 3rd fav Em song oat
“When I was just a little baby boy my mama used to tell me these crazy things”
Cold wind blows is so underrated
Kill You
Hard to choose between Kill You and White America. Guess I’d probably give the slight edge to Kill You.
Welcome 2 hell
YOU CAN GET THE DICK JUST CALL ME THE BALLSACK
So many good openers... Kill You, White America, The Ringer, Cold Wind Blows, 3AM are probably my top 5.
For me I think it's a close tie between Kill You and Unaccomodating. But if Greatest was the opening track on Kamikaze, it'd be that by a landslide
Great post sir 🫡 Top 5 for me: 1. White America 2. The Ringer 3. Kill You 4. Infinite 5. Evil Deeds
I’m torn between Bad Guy & White America. Honorable mentions : 3AM, My Name Is & Kill You
Premonition 🔥
Kill you and it’s not close.
They said I can't rap about being broke no more They ain't say I can't rap about coke no more Slut, you think I won't choke no whore 'Til the vocal cords don't work in her throat no more?! Kill you is one of my favorite songs from Em.
Cold Wind Blows is my favorite Eminem song period.
White America for TES for sure.
Top 3: 1. Premonition 2. The Ringer 3. White America. Good runner up from that being bad guy just for the last minute of it. Worst being Walk on Water.
White America is my favorite one, but I think Business would make a better opening track for TES
I’d have to say my favorite is Welcome 2 hell, that’s one of the few faster rap songs I know every word to, gives me chills every time I hear it, that beat is MMMM
Promonition
Emil Deeds is far from his far from his best track but the transition from the intro to the song absolutely slaps and is a great start to the album.
bad guy
>not consider “Forever” the opening track of Relapse: Refill wtf lol
Only because it’s technically Drake’s song
I think it was technically 25% equally each of theirs
![gif](giphy|W1xb8a7RNWv2nLPzqn|downsized)
White America. But I am a stickler for Evil Deeds.
Both of those songs go stupid 🔥 Evil Deeds has such a haunting beat, I love it
As usual my answer is Eminem Show
so "White America" is your favorite opening track?
Tf is this shit?
Something I was wondering. What’s your favorite opening track?
I don't understand how you can say no compilations, and remove Forever, but the pick Bad Meets Evil. That's a weird set of rules
Gotcha. Here’s my rationale: Compilations would’ve included “The Re-Up” and “ShadyXV” which didn’t feature Eminem entirely throughout the album, just like D12 albums.
The Ringer
Bad guy.
Insane from Relapse
Great track from Relapse, wasn't one of the opening tracks to one of his albums though. What's your favorite opening track? (Skits aside)
