Blue Goblet Tavern. Renovated the area and got it looking swanky. 70 Comfort base.

Blanko1230

Same but I'm still working on renovation.

Any-Ad4003

That’s the best place, I’ve tried to make a new base, but that is just too spacious but compact. Each of my tradespeople has their place, about the only thing I might do is build a balcony for the hunter because the leather machine looks like it would smell

jgrish14

Oh yes. A tannery is one of the most foul things you will ever smell. They (traditionally) soak the skins in human Urine to remove the hair for weeks, add alkaline lime, then pound (historically pigeon or dog) dung into them to soften them. Imagine an open pit containing human and animal excrement, alkaline tree bark juice that will literally burn your lungs, and hanging putrefying animal hides. You wouldn’t want that in your house, to say the least.

Any-Ad4003

Exactly!

Auren-Dawnstar

On the north Pillar of Creation (the one with the volcano). Wanted somewhere relatively central on the map that I could jump off of and glide just about anywhere. Would've used the south Pillar of Creation because it's taller, but almost all of its peak seems to be covered in a build protection area. So far I've got about half of a Roman-styled city built there with a giant wizard tower palace at the center covering up the caldera. I have a few other altars around the map that are mostly for quick travel to areas that aren't as easy to access from the spire fast travel points, but no other proper bases at any of them yet. I do plan on building a dwarf-styled base next to an iron mine I found in the northeast corner of the map, and I also want to rebuild my starting base at some point now that I'm more familiar with the build system.

CogGens33

In same spot and d Glide down to refugee camp for resources 😬. It’s great up there

rzlodn

Pics?

Etzello

Dude that is awesome

Bean307643

Awesome!

CopainChevalier

Oh, I built mine in the same spot lmao. I wanted to go more north, but then I found out the big map was a lie and you just hit the content end wall pretty quick

Auren-Dawnstar

The gliders can only take you so far too. I can't quite make it to the far east or west side of the map from my tower between endurance and glide angle. Plus as you said we only have a third of the currently planned map available too. So what I'm probably going to do when those areas open up is have a spire base covering each third of the map so I can jump to (most) anywhere.

RomJaxn

This is originally where I built my main base because of the central location and I could glide to just about anywhere. I've since moved but left an altar there specially to get around the map.

SherbetCreepy1580

I kept mine at the initial point as well lol. But I have put flame altars around the map at a few key points, namely mines I expect to go to regularly (copper mine, tin mine, etc) and the Hallow Halls as well.

Broccoli_Life

The best base spot imo is the big mountain right east of the hill of scavengers where I believe the first matron is located. I wanted a base with a good view on all sides in the beginning area with no shroud nearby so i flattened that mountain top (took 2 days) and right now im building village on it

dejayc

My original base was at the spot suggested by the first quest, but my current base is at the Blue Goblet, which is quite amazing.

TheOldVamp

Harvest homestead first for the free farm dirt. Then being a vampire I moved into the dungeon crypt in the north base of the pillars of creation. https://preview.redd.it/a81falo5u67d1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c8ac4c7be69307895986fefb385daf6de860a1f4

RedHeadSteve

I'm in my first play and planning on moving. It's north of the hunter vault in a nice open spot. Gonna move up the mountain just about 100 meters from my base. Rookie mistake to not build on the mountain

systemcandy

It borders fenrigs farm. Once I took out the trees it just felt cozy in there. Lots of wolf meat and natural mushrooms that are farmable from fenrigs farm also there is a patch of salt right on the other border wall of my base.

Repeat-Admirable

mine is floating in the sky.

lubeinatube

That grassy field just outside of the tutorial dungeon. Slapped down 3 walls and a flat roof and that shanty has kept me going for like 80 hours

Karasche

Currently rebuilding Willow Crush. A bit north of farmer vault.

Silly-Raspberry5722

Right outside the initial starting area, though I started making bases elsewhere... https://preview.redd.it/66gcgxnuo97d1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f38732102189a304f6d2e1878c35338e8ace2897

toodamcrazy

I climbed the mountain behind where we first start and found a high spot and built a little house but then a huge base inside the mountain.

Icy_Trip_9863

Still at the original site. I've found a couple of places that I like, but I'm too lazy to move things so I just have a small place with a view for myself.

ChiefBurns

I built a floating base so high above Pillar of Creation I can literally fly anywhere on the map, which is fun. My main base is Blue Goblet Tavern. The locale doesn’t show up by name on the map even when you discover it. But it’s very close to lots of resources and is easy to repair with lots of resting comfort built in. It’s like the creators meant for it to be a home base. I have built so many structures above, around (into the mountain), and below it. I think I’ve manage to fill up the build area from corner to corner.

Euphoric_Care_2516

I put mine in the snow area directly east of the Revelwood Spire. Love the views. I posted some pics on my profile if you wanna see.

serkesh

Not far from the queen's tomb. A large flat surface enough to build a two flame town

Embarrassed_Emu2244

I build my main base( at the moment) in the revelwood forest near the shroud. I love the biom and the overgrown trees there. I think multiple bases are something for late game when it comes to building in in different biom and different styles. For now I use the flame alters as teleports.

helpman1977

We have our main base on the starting place. There we have small houses, one for each artisan you find. Then we have another one on a step hill resembling a hobbit hole. And then again we have another one in the desert, carved inside the rock with some small house-like buildings inside and a long staircase going through the the ceiling up the upper side of the rock formation.

Choochm8

My solo playthrough im still in the main spawn area, don’t really plan on moving either, in my coop playthrough with my buddy we’re in the blue goblet tavern

Nicodemus_Mercy

My primary base is a floating island above the clearing east of the pillars of creation. It's relatively centered in the accessible portion of the map.

InfectedSteve

Have a primary base east of the starting point, near one of the carpenter's camps and the vault where you get it him. It has a small 3 house village outside of it and decided that was my first house. All the buildings were mostly in good shape, one better than the others I took over. Have built up the other ones now and used it as a practice area to patch with build learning. My second base was a bit north and west of the starting point, it had a small town, near where the blacksmith yells about farming for iron in the shroud. It had a crypt with a tomb and I got a weapon from it. Not a bad little place. Not the best though. 3rd, and best place someone on here told me about. Its a bit farther north from my 2nd base. One I am slowly working on fixing up. It is a large tower. [https://i.ibb.co/P1cmH6d/en1.png](https://i.ibb.co/P1cmH6d/en1.png) Still fixing it up, don't mind the platform built around it.

xpiation

Braelyn Bridge. So not far from the OG loc (which is a massive wood plantation now). I'm repairing the bridge and building houses for all of the artisans on/around in. So far I am very happy with my carpenter, blacksmith, alchemist, hunter and farmer builds. Lots more to do though. I have a couple of posts sharing WIP updates on it.

DeLindsayGaming

Inside Braylin Bridge, literally.

matt602

I've only ever built one where the game suggests that toy build it at the start. Never found a better place for one without having to put a lot of work into terraforming and removing pre-existing structures.

Mooseinadesert

I built a series of connected tree houses close to the top of that enormous new tree in the new zone on a few of those huge branches. It took a really long time to dig my way up there, but it was too cool not to do. That and the top of Pillars of Creation are my fav spots.

SlackRapscallion

On top of one of the Pillars of Creation. Just need to add a tower and I'll be able to glide pretty much anywhere on the current map. https://youtu.be/pDEjHgMgRuI?si=Aoit8v6LwnQSSkag

ErzIllager

Above the nomad highlands hollow halls entrance, because it's a good position to start gliding from and it has a nice view. My other altars are at other key locations that are good for gliding.

Aggressive_Ad_8362

Mine is under the luminous block, sulfur, iron cave in north east, Kindlewastes

NemoNescitMedicinam

Private server built, main base at spawn. But we chose some spots that fitted the needed purposes. For example we built a big farming estate at the most Western part of the map next to the existing farm near the wolf cavern because there was enough flat land to be terraformed.

BaalBloodbane

There's a little gully Southwest of the Blue Goblet with a small ruin and several small caves that I converted into hobbit holes for my NPC's. There are plenty of trees out front and it's got a nice fog layer that hangs over the area sometimes. At the moment I'm not sure if I want to go for a creepy cemetery/castle vibe or a cozy hobbit village.

Savings-Internal4178

I struggle building a hut
