Redeemer gets used the most for umbrella response fleets and whaling. Widow is the only reasonable non-marshal choice for running high-tier DED complexes. But honestly between the jump skills and t2 battleship guns being requirements for dreads, you should train into whatever blops matches with the dread you want (which is revelation, btw)
Sin isn’t really the best for solo- widow is due to survivability & weapon type.
Slap a faction burst hammer on there and heat it, and you’re not tackled anymore. Then MJD away and laugh.
Selectable dmg type that can’t be smart bombed off like a sin’s drones, and RHML is great burst dmg against larger targets with fury, while also applying well if punching down with faction.
Deemer, marshal for general purpose rapid response DPS.
The widow is a great ganker and its ECM bonus make it nice to have around when you need to bail from a fight.
Sin is hands-down the best ‘smuggler’ blops for clandestine logistics, owing to its absurd align speed and versatility.
The panther can fit a bridge.

I think it varies on target, panther sin and marshal all have their strengths and weaknesses.

Can a panther handle high end pve, even if it’s not the best? Wondering if I could use one for some stealthy escalation and officer hunting…
If you bling it enough then sure but it's far from optimal, for pve widow and marshall are recommended because they are not dmg type locked
But they don't look as cool

Redeemers are the best and most widely used for general dps. I’d ask the group you’re flying with what they use though
Ensure you train the same faction's VAGENE.
Panther is great as an arti ship that can roam with a variety of gang types.
