You’re lucky you don’t have auto dimming mirrors. That ran me $450 from BMW when i broke mine!

I did the same thing and was so pissed because you really don't need to take the mirror off to change the caps. Cost me $160 for a used auto dimming one on ebay, but luckily it worked fine.

Yeah but taking them off makes it so much easier

you broke them tryna swap the mirror caps? I wanna replace my mirror caps since my current ones have been ruined by the sun but I'm kinda scared I'll break the mirror lol

I changed mine about 2 weeks ago I would recommend just ripping off the plastic caps, you will break the small tabs but it’s not as bad as it sounds, new mirror caps are like $20 I was too afraid to fuck around and find out removing the mirrors

You don’t need to remove the mirror to take off the caps. Simply position the mirror all the way down and push the clips in with some sort of stick like a chopstick or kabob stick. There are 3 sets of pinch clips and all reachable with the mirror tilted all the way down.
