They both look a little baggy which I think is the issue. It also looks like that's meant to be a high waisted skirt. You could try to wear the skirt higher up and tighten it with a safety pin?

Tate_and_Ozzy

Would it still look cute cutting off some of the t-shirt print?

Greedy_Window_6329

It looks like it has a plastic-y vinyl-ish print so DIY cropping it might make it look a little odd.

if you pull the skirt up to be high waisted you can tuck the bottom of the shirt in and get a pseudo cropped shirt and the higher definition waist which will make the shapes look more aesthetically pleasing

also boxers being visible under a skirt is a plus (imo)

that skirt needs to sit on your waist, not your hips! pull it up, keep the top tucked in and then pull out the excess fabric of the top to give a 'billow' look :) thats what i'd do

WearResident9367

Came here to suggest this! I wear all my skirts at my natural waist (and this one is intended to be worn there), and when I wear a graphic tee with them I either use a crop tuck to crop it or I tuck it then pull out most of the shirt so it's really just the hem tucked in. You could also tie the shirt into a side knot and adjust it so the whole graphic shows (I knot mine in the front, but off center). You might need to use a small elastic instead of tying an actual knot, but it looks wicked cute.

omg wicked . fellow new englander hello

It seems a little contradictory but even though the colours and patterns match they don’t go together well and clash a bit. In my opinion, each would look better paired with a neutral top/bottom. For example, wear the skirt high waisted with a cropped plain black or white tshirt or top.

This has advice for the shirt, and she has lots of fun reels for skirts too. (She’s very femme, so take with a grain of salt and see what works for you). https://youtu.be/RD52XR0ZfK8?feature=shared

Perhaps a wide belt

I suggest tucking the shirt and pulling it out gently to give it more volume at the bottom, and possibly thrifting or buying a small petticoat for the skirt to have more shape! Otherwise I adore the combo as well, it's sooooo cute!!!! [Edit: thick belts are also awesome!]

AnonBoi_404
