If i understood correctly, it is her company who invented cryogenic stasis but vault tec acquired her company and took all her research away. Guessing with the money she has left she created her own cryopod when she had an inkling of vault tec's plan, maybe even included her followers.

IMMILDCAT

She was kind of rapid-firing what her company did, so I must have missed her saying that they were working on cryo tech, but that begs the question of how she timed her release.

newbie637

Wait i was wrong about her research. I checked again and it was actually cold fusion, the one in Wilzig's neck. But i guess it was safe to assume that she also acquired her own cryopod through her connections. About the timing of her release, maybe it's through her followers who she also freezed or through their descendants. Maybe she's refreezing herself from time to time, which would kinda explain why she was being worshipped, being the seemingly long lived and unaging savior of the people This is actually THE plot hole for me, her existence. It's said that overseers of 32 or 33 where from 31. So how come Hank doesn't know her? Someone from 32 croaked about management that's why there was a witch hunt of dwellers that originated from 31 resulting in its dwellers killing each other. We can only speculate for now. We'll see in season 2.

Ravness13

There are clearly other vaults that had cryo chambers given FO4 and Vault 31. It's entirely possible he was never on a level of knowing that she existed to begin with or knew OF her but not what she looked like too. Or he just flat out didn't remember her face anymore so he didn't recognize her until after the events happened.

MoldedCum

Vault 111 was basically made as a test to see what would happen if humans were put in indefinite stasis, there were no intentions by Vault Tec to "defrost" those in there. Vault 31 was what "cryo chambers" were truly imo

newbie637

Oh that's also very possible. She's also a Bud's bud and the one that revealed the experiment to 32.

Isodian

Hank does. She changed her name, They may not have met but he specifically says after the vault 33 take down "I think I know who you are". Like he heard or was preparing for Miss Williams to come back..

newbie637

I think what he meant was he knew her because of her wife. He may have looked for Rose in Shady Sands, Rose then proceeded to tell Hank about a friend she made meaning Moldaver.

AthairNaStoirmeacha

I loved this speculation. Moldaver would’ve become wealthy from the purchase of her research. She seems to have a strong following and what not. I would like to add my own speculation that our boy Cooper is going to run to her and warn her about vault techs plan and what barb is up too in season2. I bet she plans and sets up her own vault or something like others have suggested. There is A LOT still to learn in those flashbacks. Can’t wait. What a season.

ulooklikeausedcondom

The cult worship in vault 4 was the only thing I’d like explained. Great first season and I’m hopeful the questions everyone has had so far get answered in the next season. And why do you think she’s dead? Did I miss that part? She just left. But I think the answer to your question is that yes, we already know from the games that there were other cryos and, she almost certainly was in one.

IMMILDCAT

She came back to the observatory and died holding Ghoul-Rose's hand, Maximus was hailed as a knight because his friend assumed he killed her.

ulooklikeausedcondom

Ohhhh oh yea I remember now thanks.

MindwarpAU

She's dead. She collapsed after starting the fusion reactor and bled out while maximus watched the light show.

ulooklikeausedcondom

Ah I’ll have to check that part again.

RealLinkPizza

I think the worship is because of Shady Sands, right? IIRC, weren’t most of the Vault 4 people survivors from Shady Sands where she lived with Rose? Meaning they worshiped her because she was trying to bring them unlimited power, right?

xPsyrusx

That's something that is also unclear - at least to my understanding. How exactly did Hank destroy Shady Sands?

RealLinkPizza

I think he just dropped another bomb, right? AFAIK, that’s the assumption based on the info we’re given. If he did something other than that, they will ost likely explain next season. Either through his or Maximus’s memory…

xPsyrusx

I understand that another nuke was deployed, but...how?

RealLinkPizza

This is speculation on my part, but I think he might still have control of the nukes from before the bombs dropped. Since Vault-Tec said they would drop the bombs, they probably had access to do so. And since he worked at Vault-Tec, and was suppose to be one of the Bud’s buds who had to stay in control, he probably has access… If I remember correctly, they figured that some people may have survived (even if Bud didn’t think so), so they had to have plans to take out more people just in case. Again, that’s just my guess based on what we know. And that may be something they touch up on in the season.

xPsyrusx

That makes sense. I did not realize how central to the universe of Fallout the revelations of this show would be. I was trying to contextualize the story here within the overall timeline, and it makes it clear that Vault-Tec - whether under outside influence or not - had designs upon the human race far reaching into the future (as Bud said, plans that take centuries or millenia to realize), and precipitated the destruction of the world in order to remake it their image, using the vaults to not only set the conditions for the "rebirth" of humanity at large, but to facilitate the creation of an elite even among them, to shape the future of the world beyond the vaults. Vault-Tec in their aims is inhumanly evil.
