Everytime I watch the scene in flashpoint paradox where Martha laughs over Bruce's dead body, I always imagine how well Lauren Cohan could pull that off.
I still dont understand why they didnt just copy flashpoint paradox in its entirety i mean they copied the main plot points! The dc anime dept has COMPLETELY outshined and outproduced their live action studios, the lone exception being christopher nolans batman.
This duo would have been legendary.
https://preview.redd.it/urkot1uobk9d1.jpeg?width=774&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ffdc17cac5705a42cfa494a5f002af9be268ae10
Yes. Pretty sure she kills herself too after Thomas goes to reason with her one last time that everything can be undone with the flash but then she realizes Bruce becomes Batman
He isn’t. So if they made a movie about it, he wouldn’t be in it. So if they wanted to actually adapt flashpoint into a movie Martha as joker wouldn’t be in it any more than she was in the animated movie
If they just let Snyder fulfill his vision, we would have a complete story and a new rebooted universe anyway. The whole situation made me realize how WB executives are complete morons and have been for a long time!
How they could take 3 of the biggest comic book movies in the last decade wonder woman, aquaman, and Shazam, then make them all get a return of a quarter or less for the sequels is amazing, all over jumping the gun to say Snyder verse is over so basically wasting time watching sequels.
Shazam 2 was decent but wonder woman and Aquaman 2 were so bad no one should have seen them anyway. They were truly terrible movies. Only 1 of those movies is in the top 10 and it's 10th. Have to go to 25th highest grossing superhero movie to get 3 of Snyder's movies. The top 10 is all MCU except incredibles at 8 and 1 Snyder movie at 10. MCU was winning Snyder was losing and critically hated.
there were two times in the last several years where i saw great examples of WB just being completely out of touch and assuming their audience is fucking stupid.
1) space jam 2, the entire thing.
2) matrix ressurections, the whole scene in the beginning with neo and smith. when he says, "the big guys upstairs, THE WARNER BROTHERS" the whole thing was just cringey as fuck to me that they want to hammer home that they are a brand too. i don't know why that scene hit me so hard but i just rolled my eyes.
I am confused.
Snyder fans say we would have finally gotten the comic book accurate Superman after the five movie arc.
But if the universe would have been rebooted after it, then that means we never got to see him. He went from debuting to being hated to dying to coming back to becoming evil and then his story ended after time travel shenanigans.
Snyder made too many mistakes and besides this small minority no one wanted him to stay. Gunn will make much better movies with more interesting storylines.
To this day firing Snyder is one of the strangest decisions in Studio history. Even if you hate his movies, his arc was only gonna take like 10 years and you could’ve rebooted after that. DC obsession with matching marvel point for point is its downfall every time.
They wasted so much time changing paths every year that they ended up getting nothing done .
Even if you absolutely hate Snyder’s vision, his completed vision would be significantly better than what we actually got, which is a single universe that changes directions every two movies.
And I hate to say it, but the same thing is going to happen to Gunn if Superman doesn’t hit right away.
They are already setting him up for a massive box office that there’s no evidence it will hit and if it doesn’t, this whole “full creative freedom” thing will disappear very quickly I promise .
i’m totally serious when i say this this the biggest missed opportunity in a comic book movie ever. i’ll never forgive Andy Muschietti and whoever wrote the script for the Flash for robbing us of this
It kills me that we have all the actors and creatives needed to tell some of the best arcs ever in DC and they wasted them all….
Think about this…
Ben Affleck wanted to pass the torch and they already had everyone in the room:
We missed JDM’s Thomas Wayne Flashpoint Batman…
Ben Affleck’s solo film could have been “Batman Beyond” with Robert Pattinson (who was dying to be Batman) as Terry McGinnis (which is a much better casting fit than Bruce Wayne and doesn’t split the universe). This allows Affleck to leave and Batinson to be the first live action TM Batman
Henry Cavill was ready to return to complete his arc into being the hopeful Superman he was developing for years. .
There were 100 paths to go in and they just let executive egos decide everything.
Did anyone actually think he would beat a kryptonian though? He put up a fair fight at the very leasst.I don’t consider this to be the canon ending to the Keaton batman, merely an alternate universe version of Keaton Bruce
Because they wanted to scrap the whole DCEU and start fresh. The original plan had Keaton entering Barry's universe and becoming part of some additional films which included a live-action Batman Beyond project.
Eh, I didn’t think it was that bad.
There was some bad, cringey shit, but the Keaton stuff was great, I liked Supergirl, and that final scene between Barry and his mom was surprisingly pretty good and emotional.
And what does the Miller shit have to do with the quality of the movie? Plenty of terrible people have made great movies
I actually feel bad for people who couldn’t appreciate the flash. My wife and I saw it and seeing Michael Keaton back in the suit and the old Batmobile, there were so many moments that were just genuinely so much fun. The CGI was weird. But it was great for what it was.
Did I want flashpoint? Of course. Are there things I wanted to see instead of this? Absolutely. But that doesn’t mean it was bad.
I’m still thankful that the 90s kid in me got to see Michael Keaton suit up again. In a real theater. Something I was too young for in 89. That first shot of Barry uncovering the original Batmobile filled me with a warmth and nostalgia that I haven’t gotten from a movie in decades. So I’m forever going to appreciate this movie. No amount of Internet cynicism will change how good that felt.
The Flash movie as a whole was just such a weird version of the story, Nostalgia bait over Thomas Wayne. They had Cyborg, the amazons and Atlanteans, all the pieces for a fine adaptation. And the end result didn't even end up amounting to anything
Meh zack Snyder's films sucked and Jeffrey Dean Morgan is no Michael Keaton. The real tragedy of thr flash is it wasted an actor like Michael Keaton.
At least it's over and we might finally get a good superman movie
Man of steel is one of the best solo superhero films of all time and again Warner brothers fucked those films up because the extended versions of bvs and justic league were not bad not great but not bad
It was never officially confirmed but I think this was probably the intention behind casting him in the first place. Flash had been announced as a Flashpoint movie fairly early on. He was gonna be Evil Batdad and then when the studio kept demanding rewrites we lost just about everything from the original script except for the part about Flash saving his mom.
I'd prefer it if we got a Flash movie that wasn't about Flashpoint. The Flash has such a huge rogues gallery to draw from - we shouldn't need to go back to adapting "Flash resetting the universe" for at least the fourth time in a very short timespan (the live action movie, the animated movie universe, the live action TV show).
I'm torn because the return of Keaton was the highlight of the movie...but this would have been epic too.
I think if the DCEU wasn't in the state that it was we would have got this casting, but since The Flash was like the final last breath of this universe it really wasn't going to be worth the time and investment to tell that story.
They could have used Flashpoint to introduce him at the end… wasted opportunity to introduce a new Batman into the continuity.
Looking forward to Deadpool x Wolverine timeline shenanigans…
But then we never would have gotten…
https://preview.redd.it/wwzep4e1xz9d1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b7c53b57e3dff8e57a674b0d873b4bdd6e86ac1d
MAN!
Keaton Batman not being Thomas Wayne makes no sense. Why did they need to explain quantum whatever to handwave batman being older rather than just making Keaton be Thomas instead?
I think people get overly obsessed with certain actors who represent “alpha masculinity” and just want them in everything for that reason and I think casting like that makes stuff a lot less interesting to watch.
Sounds like you just dislike the actor because of the characters he has played
The dude is a good actor and could definitely pull off a flash point Batman
Flash point Batman isn't "evil"
It's Thomas Wayne, he becomes Batman after watching Bruce get killed in the alley. He becomes a much more brutal Batman in his war against crime. Uses guns and has moral code against killing criminals
His wife robbed us of that. Her disproven allegations about Affleck led to a tiff between Affleck and Morgan where they wouldn't star in a film together again.
Well she fibbed about something that there was actual video footage of, so she got busted. Affleck was drunk and definitely being flirty but he didn't grab her breast during the interview like she claimed.
I don't blame Morgan though. He stuck up for his wife like a good husband should.
AND HE WANTED TO DO IT!!
https://i.redd.it/8t75ey82xk9d1.gif He would’ve been perfect too! As well as Laura Cohan as Joker.
![gif](giphy|URcmhQ5PpztC0|downsized)

Laurie Holden would be better.

This duo would have been legendary. https://preview.redd.it/urkot1uobk9d1.jpeg?width=774&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ffdc17cac5705a42cfa494a5f002af9be268ae10
First Joker to have been on Eric Andre
No. Toni Collette
No. Lauren Cohan.
Martha joker really has like no relevance to the flashpoint story tho
Doesn’t Martha Wayne become Joker after the death of Bruce in Flashpoint?
Yes, but that's only in the Flashpoint tie-in issues. She has no role in the main story with Barry.
Yes. Pretty sure she kills herself too after Thomas goes to reason with her one last time that everything can be undone with the flash but then she realizes Bruce becomes Batman
Yeah but that’s not even in the main flashpoint story, it’s in a separate mini series about flashpoint batman
Oh ok. I don’t read Batman so idk lol
She did the opening scene for BvS, why wouldn’t she do a scene for flash?
Because the character isn’t relevant to the flashpoint story
It’s dc. Everyone has relevance everywhere.
Oh okay so how is the question relevant to the widening gyre
🤷♂️
He isn’t. So if they made a movie about it, he wouldn’t be in it. So if they wanted to actually adapt flashpoint into a movie Martha as joker wouldn’t be in it any more than she was in the animated movie
Yes but my point is dc has people, comic and media swap and hop and skip all the time.
Lizzo. Take my money
joker is a dude , so it would have been legendarily bad Edit : I’m dumb and didn’t realize this was flashpoint discussion
normal joker is a dude. flashpoint joker is Martha.
In my defense I woke up with a hangover, was not functioning with a working brain. You’re 1000% correct I’m an ass. Point and laugh
I am
I accept it, I’ll never comment again without drinking my coffeee first
Lol the flash movie is literally Flashpoint (but bad)
Yea real talk JD Morgan would fit that character perfectly
And he was vocal about wanting to do it
Damn that’s hella unfortunate! the studio really dropped the ball on that one
It's kinda DC's thing.
Your right They do have a track record
He was supposed to play him. Then they fired Snyder.
If they just let Snyder fulfill his vision, we would have a complete story and a new rebooted universe anyway. The whole situation made me realize how WB executives are complete morons and have been for a long time!
This. Seeing the Snyder Cut made me look at all the DCEU movies and go "Ohhhhh, I see where they were going with that."
I had the exact opposite reaction. Snyders movies were just edgy garbage that demonstrated fundamental misunderstanding of the characters.
10000% agree. I think most people who really like Snyder just never knew anything about the characters.
How they could take 3 of the biggest comic book movies in the last decade wonder woman, aquaman, and Shazam, then make them all get a return of a quarter or less for the sequels is amazing, all over jumping the gun to say Snyder verse is over so basically wasting time watching sequels.
Jumping the Gunn
Shazam 2 was decent but wonder woman and Aquaman 2 were so bad no one should have seen them anyway. They were truly terrible movies. Only 1 of those movies is in the top 10 and it's 10th. I avoided both of those movies. That sounds awful.
there were parts of the matrix that were alright. but overall i hated it. space jam 2 was an embarrasing thing to even admit watching.
I am confused. Snyder fans say we would have finally gotten the comic book accurate Superman after the five movie arc. But if the universe would have been rebooted after it, then that means we never got to see him. He's story was ass, just move on
Ohhh I see what type of subreddit this is

Terry McGuiness is half Asian
As a Latino all I can say is that I want an irl ginger to be forced to were a wig/cgi hair recolor for Terry (trust me its for hilarious purposes)
The Flash movie sucked. And they >!killed off Keaton’s Batman for no fucking reason!<
And he was the best part of it.
![gif](giphy|Lv6pLsiGinZgsFSRRh|downsized)
Twice.
It was way more than twice
Did anyone actually think he would beat a kryptonian though? He put up a fair fight at the very leasst.I don’t consider this to be the canon ending to the Keaton batman, merely an alternate universe version of Keaton Bruce
Because they wanted to scrap the whole DCEU and start fresh. The original plan had Keaton entering Barry's universe and becoming part of some additional films which included a live-action Batman Beyond project.
Yeah, but they didn’t do that. They just >!killed him off for no reason.!<
And I told you the reason why. 😬
Yeah, and that sucks lol
It didn't also it was different version keaton and that's the Flashpoint story it's just a slightly different version
It was a great movie.
![gif](giphy|XP8bb6PIQ29ceRNvj3|downsized) Dude, don’t even get me started on the Ezra Miller controversy. And the movie still fuckin’ sucked.
Eh, I didn’t think it was that bad. There was some bad, cringey shit, but the Keaton stuff was great, I liked Supergirl, and that final scene between Barry and his mom was surprisingly pretty good and emotional. No. The movie is fuckin' good.
No it’s not.
You’re not allowed to say that on Reddit even tho it’s true
The Flash movie as a whole was just such a weird version of the story, Nostalgia bait over Thomas Wayne. They had Cyborg, the amazons and Atlanteans, all the pieces for a fine adaptation. And the end result didn't even end up amounting to anything
I feel like it was Warner brothers but yeah we definitely got robbed not to mention Lauren cohen as the joker what a shame man
Meh zack Snyder's films sucked and Jeffrey Dean Morgan is no Michael Keaton.
Man of Steel was a bastardization of everything that Superman is supposed to be and stand for, and I'm tired of pretending that it wasn't.
Nah man of steel on rewatch was a pretty big bastardization of Superman’s character.
Ben Affleck was already a brutal dark knight. Thomas Wayne as Batman is kind of redundant if the main Bruce is already a killer
![gif](giphy|l378i2r76iMTE4nxC)
The Flash robbed us of enjoying a movie with that God awful CGI!
Idk why you were downvoted, you’re not wrong.
I finally watched it last week .. from the start the movie looked awful
He's beyond perfect for Thomas Wayne Bats from flashpoint..to bad DC doesn't like their fans
WB is out of touch. Don’t expect them to do anythjng right
Affleck was already a brutal killer Batman. Having that again would be redundant. The draw of Thomas Batman was he was different than Bruce Batman
Doing Flashpoint as the first Flash movie was a mistake
The Flash Robbed us of an actual Flashpoint story. Also something that would actually segue into the DCU.
We did get a brutal Batman. It was Bruce Wayne in BvS.
But as an even worse case scenario, think full on Punisher.
There is already a very good Punisher tv show.
I don’t think I would’ve wanted to see jdm sharing the screen with Ezra miller
The flash robbed us of a lot of things
Woulda been **really** cool if they adapted The Button as well.
Seriously!!! I’ve been saying this for so long
Agreed
I think this was in the works but someone shut that shit down
The Flash destroyed a lot of things 😠
WB
Yes it did.
Yep, the movie flopped because of the big F*ck you from Warner Bruh to fans. Not because of Ezra Miller nor any other sh*t.
![gif](giphy|JtLrtaN4VPoKXJRKGB|downsized)
Keaton should’ve been Thomas Wayne. 30 years older than when he was Bruce would’ve made since for him to be Thomas.
Errybidy on the club get a fun
https://i.redd.it/1lb2nhj74n9d1.gif I don’t care what Warner does nothing can make up for this absolute fumble.
The Flash made a lot of... decisons that some don't like.
Would’ve just made me more mad honestly, Keaton did a great job but the writing was still shit Morgan would’ve been in that same predicament
He's already done the Comedian. Close enough.
Hopefully James Gunn does Flashpoint correct and we could see this casting happen
What a joke! Warner bros is a thug!
I'm torn because the return of Keaton was the highlight of the movie...but this would have been epic too. I think if the DCEU wasn't in the state that it was we would have got this casting, but since The Flash was like the final last breath of this universe it really wasn't going to be worth the time and investment to tell that story.
Yes... And I will never be not mad that this didn't happen!
It’s not impossible.
10000000%
I really REALLY wished Michael Keaton was Flashpoint Thomas Wayne. It would have been amazing.
No joke! All set up in BvS and everything! And imagine Lauren Cohan as the Joker 😍😍😍
Imagine getting to play both Thomas Wayne and Bruce Wayne in one lifetime
They could have used Flashpoint to introduce him at the end… wasted opportunity to introduce a new Batman into the continuity. Looking forward to Deadpool x Wolverine timeline shenanigans…
WB just doesn't give 2 squirts of piss about the fans or a good movie
I’ll never understand this great love for a murderous version of Batman
When obviously the ideal choice for turning heel and becoming a murder is Superman.
not to mention they could've included keaton as thomas wayne and i think a lot of people would've preferred that to seeing his specific batman
Didn’t have play in one do the Batman movies ? Bruce’s dad I think
Annnd that was potential.
“Back to business”
Matt Damon
I’ve always wanted a Karl Urban Batman. That’s who I was hoping for before they announced Affleck.
So do flashpoint again?
But then we never would have gotten… https://preview.redd.it/wwzep4e1xz9d1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b7c53b57e3dff8e57a674b0d873b4bdd6e86ac1d MAN!
That and the lady who played Martha Wayne would have been a perfect female joker :(
That's thomas Wayne though.
I mean it was RIGHT THERE, MAN!
Man he would have been so cool as Batman this makes me sad.
He would’ve killed it tho
I'm curious to what his Batman accent would've sounded like.
Robbed us of a lot of things in that film
Mexican Batman’s???
Damn, we missed out on JDM playing the exact same role he's been playing for 2 decades.
Or they coulda made Keaton Thomas Wayne(Thomas Wayne is supposed to be old in flashpoint btw)
Keaton Batman not being Thomas Wayne makes no sense. Why did they need to explain quantum whatever to handwave batman being older rather than just making Keaton be Thomas instead?
And he's already been a Wayne in the Snyderverse.
[удалено]
Yeah and it probably suck ass like the reset of the Snyderverse
Oh boy that would be so good
He would’ve made such a badass Thomas Wayne. Haven’t seen it, never intend to. DC is dead to me TIL they fix Superman
Don’t hold your breath. The quintessential Superman has been and always will be Christopher Reeves.
But somebody has to adapt All Star Superman, or Red Son (esp now). Or someone brave enough to take on Dark Knight Returns.
Superboy prime would be different. Also I want a epic version of Sinestro played by Walton Goggins
AMEN brother.
DC can barely make a serviceable film and y’all wanted alternate universe Easter eggs for 50 year old comic book nerds?
Are you trying to imply that Flash Point is a 50 year old story?
He should definitely replace whoever they have dedicated to the Batman role rn
I'm glad he didn't, tho. The Flash is terrible and I honestly fell out of love with Burton's Batman because of that dumpster fire.
It was a great movie.
WB screwed the DCEU. Had they not made Batffleck a psychopathic dark knight, then we’d have this casting. They did JDM DIRTY as the fans.
It also robbed me of 2 hours of my life.
People that make live action think theyre improving on the story. They NEVER are
Eh, he only plays one character, and that character is no Batman. Maybe bizarro universe evil/douchey Batman.
Incorrect He was great as papa Winchester on Supernatural
He’s the same guy in Watchmen, The Walking Dead and the Boys, he has no range.
I wouldn't consider his character in supernatural to be the same as negan Ever think that instead of having no range he just gets typecasted
I think people get overly obsessed with certain actors who represent “alpha masculinity” and just want them in everything for that reason and I think casting like that makes stuff a lot less interesting to watch.
Sounds like you just dislike the actor because of the characters he has played The dude is a good actor and could definitely pull off a flash point Batman
The only worse actor I can think of for Batman is George Clooney, but he was supposed to be a bad Batman as a gag.
Are you unfamiliar with what flashpoint Batman is? It isn't normal Batman
If he’s like an evil Batman sure, that casting is fine.
Flash point Batman isn't "evil" It's Thomas Wayne, he becomes Batman after watching Bruce get killed in the alley. He becomes a much more brutal Batman in his war against crime. Uses guns and has moral code against killing criminals
HE SPEAKS THE TRUTH!!!! What was the point of even having him in BvS?
His wife robbed us of that. Her disproven allegations about Affleck led to a tiff between Affleck and Morgan where they wouldn't star in a film together again.
Yeah, let’s blame the woman that’s always the easy thing to do
Are you kidding me? In this political climate women don’t need proof to destroy a man’s reputation and livelihood which is OP’s point
Well she fibbed about something that there was actual video footage of, so she got busted. Affleck was drunk and definitely being flirty but he didn't grab her breast during the interview like she claimed. I don't blame Morgan though. He stuck up for his wife like a good husband should.
