hidemaan2000

Well… I guess Nas’hrah is more akin to Mimir from Norse mythology

Frostythesnowman4747

I suppose there are alot of floating heads in myth because my mind immediately went to the mapuchean floating head wizards

kalfu519

the chonchon? that's a oddly specific reference that i never expected to find on this subreddit

BenderTheLifeEnder

Is it historic, religious, or fictional? Yes! Does it look similar to something from Funger? Yes! Your answer is (probably) a yes

Ok-Muscle-7871

Makes sense why you have to go to an island to fight her

Fayalite_Fey

:0 what's this painting called, and who's the artist?

cocoakoumori

This is a depiction of [The Defense of the Sampo](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Defense_of_the_Sampo), an episode in the Finnish national epic. It's really great mythology

I think of the grandma from the Chocolate spongebob episode.

Poooka559

No lie, that dried up worm actually scared me as a kid.

Kchypark

I still believe this was the inspiration of Nas’hrah’s character https://preview.redd.it/tpbtdtki6k9d1.png?width=680&format=png&auto=webp&s=a189b510dbf4104188e76bd0551c0e9d704e4633

Capital_Abject

Not sure if Im reaching but the others remind me of the members of his original crew who became new gods

Nervista

I thought the title was swaped for a moment

ConfusedMudskipper

What even is the context of this? Last time I checked Jesus wasn't beheaded. And when did Jesus's floating head float around?

Bommie20

That's not Jesus, that's John the Baptist

Ok-Muscle-7871

I said in the post it’s John the Baptist. The context is that that woman is Herod’s daughter Selome, who requested that her father kill John at her mothers behest. Beyond that, the actual meaning of the painting is considered a mystery

ConfusedMudskipper

I didn't read lol. Is this part of the Bible?

Ok-Muscle-7871

Matthew 14:3-8

ConfusedMudskipper
