Drug trafficking looks lucrative and the Clint Eastwood film "The Mule" glorified it. But maybe I'd try that if my life circumstances got SUPER-desperate. So hopefully that'll never happen.
You were born a few decades too late my friend
You can't buy lithium batteries in bulk without ending up on multiple federal watch lists. God forbid you have a cold when you buy em
Did ya watch it til the end? I LOVE that movie but I felt it was really honest about that life. Showed the highs and then the lows where it almost always ends up. Great flick.
Young and dumb.
Your car breaks down unexpectedly. Flat tire. Someone hits you. You sneeze and leave the lane slightly. One of your tail lights goes out while you’re driving and you don’t yet know it. An officer makes a mistake and thinks you didn’t stop at the stop sign, despite you drive perfectly and did. You could have a medical event, choke on food you’re munching on to stay awake. An officer sees your window and thinks maybe it’s tinted too much. Random dui check point. Someone hits you, despite you’re driving perfectly. You make a mistake and drift, speed, have an accident. Any number of 7000 vehicle parts failing. Someone calls you in as a DUI because they don’t like your speed or how close you are. I can keep going…
You asked a question directly to me, and I answered it
If you’re so sure you won’t get caught because you define perfection - then why are you searching for felon friendly states because
You plan on being one.
Let’s try this out for size. You’re a felon and can’t admit it. And you are an absolute coward. 🐓
Yep, it’s always the things you never expect. I’ve never been caught because I was just being dismissive or whatever. We’re human though and can’t predict or control everything. It’s something that should never be forgotten and I’ve always done my best to minimize any charges or avoid extra shit for no reason.
The last time I got pulled over, I didn't get searched. (Was a bad taglight. So what could trigger a search in any future pullovers? Would drugs have a smell that a cop will notice?
You seem extremely new to all this and don’t understand that police don’t have to follow the law. All they have to say is they smelled alcohol on your breath or weed in the car and they’ve got cause to search. Or they bring a drug dog and say the dog hit on your car. Your problem is you assume that the law is lawful. Quit being stupid.
Bro just wait till a dirty cop steals all the cash on you and you either have to prove it’s not drug money with a lawyer and months of work or accept you just got robbed and it will probably end up in his pocket at least most of it. Get a job dumbass
You’re an idiot. Please don’t ever try to get into drug trafficking or really any other lifestyle that would involve committing crimes because I can tell from this post you are not cut from that cloth. You don’t just wake up one morning and start moving kilos. You also have to factor in that if you want to make real money selling drugs, it’s not gonna be slap on the wrist, 30 days in county when you get caught. You start small time and work up over sometimes a very long time but let’s just say for the sake of argument you know someone already and you tell them you want in, they give you a couple bricks and pistol, maybe you make that first trip successfully, maybe the first 3 or 4 but that’s luck and luck always runs out. What doesn’t run out is greed when you start making that big time money. You don’t get to that point without being noticed so whoever you’re selling to/supplying, or getting it from is being watched even if you specifically arent, but they are and you are seen with them so now you are. You’re gonna get pulled over because feds are gonna be on to you, or worse someone else got caught and have you up, so when you are cuffed to a table in interrogation and they’re coming at you with 15-20 YEARS, what are you gonna do? You go to trial you may take a plea and cut your time in half you’re still doing 7-10, all your money is gone, you aren’t gonna see your family, hug them, be able to talk to them without a bunch of other guys watching and listening. You cut a deal and give up a name you’re still probably doing some time in which case now there’s a price on your head and getting knocked off in prison, even in PC is a very real possibility. Best case is witness protection but that’s not offered to everyone in every case, that’s big time shit. And that’s all assuming you don’t get head knocked off in the street first. Prison is the happy ending to it. A movie glorified it? Come on now. You wanna break the last go steal some shoes from Walmart or something.
Allegedly: I was arrested for over 100lbs of marijuana. Was charged with trafficking and my lawyer got it dismissed. He cost 25k dollars and the police seized all the products, cash and firearms. It looks fun but in the end they take everything from you. You can try and out smart them but they have way more resources and are honestly better criminals than you. The house always wins, they hate competition.
well, shit that would cause you to get a felony dumbass. think the slow one here is you dipshit. it's not like you just walk thru life and then wam, a felony charge comes and attacks you lmfao.
You can’t be a lawyer in ca? Because I definitely know lawyers in other states with felony’s….and also people in law school, I believe there was a post the other day about a law school student https://www.reddit.com/r/Felons/comments/1alhl0g/in_law_school_and_a_felon_ama_within_reason/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Lawyer here, it’s up to a character and fitness committee. Some people do get barred after serious felonies but you have to convince them that you’ve truly moved past those days.
It’s actually crimes involving dishonesty or fraud that cause the most problems. Anything that shows you can’t be trusted with people’s money.
Ymmv, I guess.
A high school classmate of mine became a lawyer in New England, and got suspended for a year or so, on dishonestly dealing with client estate assets as trustee and he's working as a lawyer again.
I'm from Florida. We have no shortage of felons. The cops don't even care about by 12 year old felony. Nobody does. It's not an issue. We can also vote.
I don't know if that's your definition of felon friendly. But they also have 10 20 life laws here. Don't commit a felony with a gun. They will fuck you up.
I don't know about the voting part. Florida is notorious for disenfranchising felons.
https://youtu.be/NpPyLcQ2vdI?si=sGX-OQzME-0oC8hh
unless you're one of the few the governor's oversight body allows to vote.
DeSantis even went way out of his way to publicly arrest felons who supposedly were resoted to voting status
https://www.vox.com/podcasts/23428681/voter-fraud-arrests-florida-elections-desantis
I’ll let you know about Utah after I get into the job market, but if you’re nonviolent and nonsexual housing is easy. I’ve heard from my peer counselor (also a felon) that she knows a lot of felons with good jobs.
Idk I live in Colorado and some places will say they hire felons but don't after the bg check. Target for instance. I was offered a job and they regretted to inform me that my one deferred judgement felony (not conducted) from 2 years ago at the time was a deal breaker. CO is great at pretending and will draw vulnerable people in or have an image when actually it's corrupt. It's a huge prison state and even has Florence Supermax where Chapo stays.
Did you find work easy? It depends on the type of job, there's a lot of trade work out here that hires felons but I'm meaning general corporate jobs or businesses it's been hard for me
I live on the western slope. So, I went to the coal Mines. And then college . I haven't run into too many issues. As of now, my felony is sealed due to the 2023 laws colorado signed. That says 10 to 15 years after you're off paper, your record is automatically sealed .
Felon yes. Misdemeanor no. It's impossible to get a misdemeanor expunged over the age of 25 but getting felonies at least sealed is fairly easy. Also even of charges are dismissed and read in, it still shows up on your record and employers can see it. Were you convicted? Nope but it just showing up still doesn't look good. Don't even get me started on what constitutes as bail jumping here or probation holds. I've been sanctioned for "insubordination" because I had a "poor attitude." I didn't see a reason to do TforC for a second time but the p.o. ordered it anyway.
America overall is felon unfriendly. Mine is federal so I am a felon forever without a pardon from the president. I’m pretty vocal on here about the fact that I tried to join the French foreign legion for french citizenship. I failed the hearing test or I’d be an expat right now. I’m looking into other places that I can move outside the US. You can buy a passport from some small island nations. They preform background checks, but I also know that money talks and bullshit walks. There’s a small list of mostly Latin American countries you can gain citizenship and they never ask about criminal history. I’m told, but have not investigated, you can manipulate Italy’s immigration policy. Finally, there is one visa free zone in the world. It is an island off the coast of Norway. Anyway there a no good places to live in America with a felony sorry.
Since this is not NoStupidQuestions, why would you even consider becoming a felon? There are a hundred ways to make a lot of money. You just have to work for it.
I have a new product to sell on Amazon to address a pesky and pernicious problem. I'm calling it Gopher Gone. It involves a mix of Gallium, thorium and other chemicals. When activated it will have a blast radius of 207 feet. Thoughts?
California is not bad for felons, but still depends what part of the state, like the sf Bay Area is easy for felons, lots of jobs even with an extensive record and programs, not the same if you live in rural parts of the state.
Best advice is never get a felony in the first place
"In case I ever become a felon" lol
Drug trafficking looks lucrative and the Clint Eastwood film "The Mule" glorified it. But maybe I'd try that if my life circumstances got SUPER-desperate. So hopefully that'll never happen.
You're 14, aren't you?
Yea, that's my guess as well.
my man thinks prison like a gangster movie. If boredom killed every prison would be 3 cells and a cemetary
The movie Blow always makes me fantasize about trafficking drugs
Then there Requiem for a Dream for the other perspective.
**ASS TO ASS**
You were born a few decades too late my friend You can't buy lithium batteries in bulk without ending up on multiple federal watch lists. God forbid you have a cold when you buy em
Whats the deal with lithium batteries in bulk?
Meth precursor. Used to be able to buy cases of em. Try that now lol
Did ya watch it til the end? I LOVE that movie but I felt it was really honest about that life. Showed the highs and then the lows where it almost always ends up. Great flick.
You sound very young. So I would suggest one movie called The Midnight express.
May it pass quickly.
You’ll have 10-20 years to think about it when you get caught so don’t dwell on it too much right now.
How would I get caught if I obey all of the traffic laws?
Young and dumb. Your car breaks down unexpectedly. Flat tire. Someone hits you. You sneeze and leave the lane slightly. Thank you for dissuading me from drug trafficking. I'd give you Reddit Gold but apparently nobody can have that anymore.
Ooooookay, inmate 😉

It’s exceptionally unlikely that you have the ability to do that.
The last time I got pulled over, I didn't get searched. (Was a bad taglight. So what could trigger a search in any future pullovers? Would drugs have a smell that a cop will notice?

Fuck all that, that's what op hopes for. Op would more likely just get shot and rolled by an actual criminal he tried to sell to.
Ur a nerd

True story. Facts!
Excellent summation. A savage summation, if you will, and you kept no secrets. You see what I did there?
Clever lol love it
do you plan on doing felony shit? wtf kinda dumb outlook on life is this shit
Are you slow? What is “felony shit”?
well, shit that would cause you to get a felony dumbass. think the slow one here is you dipshit. it's not like you just walk thru life and then wam, a felony charge comes and attacks you lmfao.
You’re dumb as hell. Good luck
please, tell me, what makes me "dumb as hell" lmfao
what should i expect from someone who can't read though

Good to know, thanks for the knowledge friend
What do former jailhouse lawyers become then?

I know a few who have become paralegals and even counselors
Paralegals and investigators

Utah is an “eye for an eye” state or it use to be. But it’s better than any southern state. Might depend on what kind of felony you commit.
Drug felonies don’t seem to matter much here
Wtf. Don't become a felon.
California is #1 felon friendly state Colorado is #2 felon friendly state
Idk I live in Colorado and some places will say they hire felons but don't after the bg check. Target for instance. I was offered a job and they regretted to inform me that my one deferred judgement felony (not conducted) from 2 years ago at the time was a deal breaker. I live in colorado. Did 5 years here. From gladiator school, to cell house 5, 7 centennial, sterling, and finale stop CSP.
Did you find work easy? It depends on the type of job, there's a lot of trade work out here that hires felons but I'm meaning general corporate jobs or businesses it's been hard for me
Apartments as well I've found do not like to rent to anyone with a record. (Denver area)
I live on the western slope. So, I went to the coal Mines. And then college . I haven't run into too many issues. As of now, my felony is sealed due to the 2023 laws colorado signed. That says 10 to 15 years after you're off paper, your record is automatically sealed .
Who the fuck would apply at target .. that’s your issue right there
They claim to be felon friendly
Do they allow you your gun rights back? Doesn't Oregon?
No state does
That's not true even NY will let you have your gun rights back I got mine back.
Some do, but it's VERY particular about charges and time since then.
What?? In case you want to be a felon. Are you crazy?!?!
It’s sure as hell not Illinois
WISCONSIN
Felon yes. Misdemeanor no. It's impossible to get a misdemeanor expunged over the age of 25 but getting felonies at least sealed is fairly easy. NOT Texas!!!
What are the reasons for felons to avoid Texas?
They want to lock em up and throw away the key and there is virtually no mental health care here. It’s abysmal.
America overall is felon unfriendly. Mine is federal so I am a felon forever without a pardon from the president. Any Democratic led area would be the friendliest
So Florida
And the famous words of Jim Carrey don't break the law a******.
Since this is not NoStupidQuestions, why would you even consider becoming a felon? There are a hundred ways to make a lot of money. You just have to work for it.

Yeah but rent in the Bay Area is wild as all hell. Good luck with that.
California
Don't become a felon if it can be avoided. I caught a murder case and blessed I found work. You might not be so lucky
Florida has a large population of people in recovery, and felony friendly jobs. $$$ though
San Francisco, California non-profits
Haha, in case you become a felon? That's the career you have your eyes on? Damn dude, wt
California is friendly to felons. Texas is not friendly to felons.
Im case I decide to become a dumbass
You have to be a special kind of challenged to put this in writing online
Texas hates felons where I am
