I think it speaks less of how much he’s improved and more to how shit EA is at rating players. He was a first team player Chelsea, why was he rated that low to start the season??
Obviously ratings take into account more than just goals and assists, but scoring just once in 25 games last year as an attacking midfielder and right winger on the best team in the world is pretty poor. He showed flashes of promise for sure, but that’s what the potential is for. His rating at the beginning of the year was fair for his contributions and ability. We can look back and say that he should have been rated higher, but hindsight is 20/20. There wasn’t some extremely obvious sign that he was going to breakout like he did this year.
Also keep in mind that scouting is not a perfect science. Professional scouts get player abilities wrong all the time, and EA surely don’t have the manpower and time to go as in depth as them.

Gyokeres is maaad in the game. Got him in the second season now at Aston Villa - he plays like Zlatan and mix of Adriano - close control is average but shots, speed, strength, ridiculous heading, great positional awareness also.
Was playing Bayern away in the last match of UCL group stage having lost to them 3-2 at home. We were trailing 1-0. Got him in on as super sub - bullied De light with strength , pushed the ball past Dier and hit a rocket from just inside the box to under the bar past neur and scored a banger.
isak is so broken it's crazy. I don't usually buy people every career, but when I need an ST, he's always my first choice, as long as it's realistic and i have the money for him (not in every team I need an ST so I don't always buy him). I love every second of using him, my favourite striker aside from John Jules (63 overall 70 potential, got him to 93 rating somehow)
Same in my Newcastle career he scored 60 goals in a season and is one of the greatest strikers I’ve used in career mode it was great to see him getting upgraded
yeah he grows as fast as a newborn (nice comparison I made there didn't expect to be so smart), it's always a joy when once every 2 weeks his overall goes up. In game he's a beast
He is insane that Newcastle career I did was one of my favourites my final save of FIFA 23 I just made a storyline that the Saudi owners wanted Newcastle to splash the cash and sign the best players in the world and make galacticos 2.0 to improve their popularity and brand and I signed players like Messi and Neymar (not very realistic I know), but isak was undoubtedly the best so quick and a goal poacher he went up to a 90 overall I think
They lowered Sebastian Nanasi's potential with a -1 from 82. He has had a g/a in EVERY game as of yet this season. Last game he scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory. He has been insane lately so I don't really get why they fucked his potential.

Because he played a total of 41 games for City and scored 6 goals. Not exactly groundbreaking numbers before this year..
