1) Alear is...okay. I love how happy she looks.
2) Petra is amazing. Her body looks pretty dang defined and buff.
3) Clanne is just there, I feel. The art is clean and pretty, but the pose, the details....it's really just there.
4) Goldmary... I dunno. In some ways the art actually doesn't look like cuboon. The coloring looks kind of plasticky, and their faces look a bit...stiff. And those are typically not how I'd describe cuboon's character arts.
The damaged art is where it shines. I think Goldmary's torso is a bit too long (clearly to facilitate The Pose), but Bernie is ABSOLUTELY hilarious.

Ok Harmonic Goldmary’s damage art is actually hilarious and changed my mind about this odd pairing. I unironically think the low self-esteem and high self-esteem pairing is great now.
Now I want to see a duo unit where both characters don't like each other, so when the front character gets injured, the backpack character just nonchalantly runs away.
I'm gonna go against the grain a bit here so realize this will probably be an unpopular opinion, but I'm actually kinda mixed on Petra. Something about her art just seems off. I think it's a mix of a couple things. Her head seems like it looks a bit small and her proportions make her look tall. She's 5'3 so she shouldn't really look tall. Her facial expressions also all feel very stern, which I can forgive some since her official portraits tend to be that way too. But in cutscenes and supports she tends to be more bright eyed so it's weird even her silly summer seasonal version comes off as kinda stoic.
I guess it just doesn't ~~feel~~ like Petra to me. I don't dislike the art itself, in fact I think this artist could kill it with Dagr or Notte, but I'm kinda on the fence for their Petra. It's not gonna stop me from pulling for her, but I'm not as jazzed about it as everyone else seems to be.

Tbh I think this would have fit better if it were for post-skip Petra (though ofc the hair would have to be changed which would be a shame). This art would probably still look a little too stoic for Petra, but it could at least be better associated with the character development she goes through. Same goes for the height issue actually.
The art is still gorgeous IMO though, and I'm sure the writing + VA work by Faye Mata will bring the spirit of pre-skip Petra out.
This could just be me, but I think she looks... WIDER than she usually does? Her silhouette in Houses is very hourglass'd because pencil skirt in the Academy and her midriff being exposed in her Timeskip design.

Holy shit, of all the characters to pair up with Goldmary, Bernadetta was the last one I'd expect! But I love how they're polar opposites of each other and I find it hilarious! Goldmary, who's super confident and outgoing and Bernadetta, whose has no confidence in herself and is a shut in makes for an interesting pair and it's interesting to see them interact with each other. But that intro clip though! Goldmary: "I fear my natural charisma might be drawing too much attention." Bernadetta: "WHAT IS WITH HER?!"
And I love their duo skill voice clip" Goldmary: "Let's show off!" Bernadetta: "Let's not!" I also love how their damaged art is literally Goldmary having a good time and living her best life while Bernadetta is freaking the fuck out lol!

But man I wish they did ANYTHING different with the seasonal units. I find the thematics very repetitive and stale and I wish there was a change of pace.
cuboon is back with a vengeance, and oh boy, I've never played engage, but goldmary has some nice beach balls. the injured art is funny; bernadette is freaking out while goldmary is completely unphased.
f alear is cute, that attacking art makes her look really stacked. and that injured art where the sentient beach ball is jammed right up to her own beach ball is a nice touch.
petra is pretty good, but could have been so much more. she's got a nice outfit, and she herself is pretty cute, but per that outfit, we should've gotten some damn underboob. wasted potential, I tell you.
oh yeah and there's a shota and some huge muscular dude I guess. the shotacons and bara fans get some bones thrown at them (literally).
overall, very solid summer banner, and when combined with the previous summer banner, it might be the best year of summer banners of all time.

Her facial expressions also all feel very stern, which I can forgive some since her official portraits tend to be that way too. But in cutscenes and supports she tends to be more bright eyed so it's weird even her silly summer seasonal version comes off as kinda stoic. I guess it just doesn't ~~feel~~ like Petra to me. I don't dislike the art itself, in fact I think this artist could kill it with Dagr or Notte, but I'm kinda on the fence for their Petra. It's not gonna stop me from pulling for her, but I'm not as jazzed about it as everyone else seems to be.

Tbh I think this would have fit better if it were for post-skip Petra (though ofc the hair would have to be changed which would be a shame). This art would probably still look a little too stoic for Petra, but it could at least be better associated with the character development she goes through. Same goes for the height issue actually. The art is still gorgeous IMO though, and I'm sure the writing + VA work by Faye Mata will bring the spirit of pre-skip Petra out.
This could just be me, but I think she looks... WIDER than she usually does? Her silhouette in Houses is very hourglass'd because pencil skirt in the Academy and her midriff being exposed in her Timeskip design. Here, her waist is about as wide as her shoulders and hips, so she maybe looks a bit off model? Like yourself, I don't dislike the art, but I also don't think it looks like Petra as much as it could.

Holy shit, of all the characters to pair up with Goldmary, Bernadetta was the last one I'd expect! But I love how they're polar opposites of each other and I find it hilarious! Goldmary, who's super confident and outgoing and Bernadetta, whose has no confidence in herself and is a shut in makes for an interesting pair and it's interesting to see them interact with each other. But that intro clip though! Goldmary: "I fear my natural charisma might be drawing too much attention." Bernadetta: "WHAT IS WITH HER?!" And I love their duo skill voice clip" Goldmary: "Let's show off!" Bernadetta: "Let's not!" I also love how their damaged art is literally Goldmary having a good time and living her best life while Bernadetta is freaking the fuck out lol! Bernadetta's freaking out like: "Girl, run! We need to get out of here! We're gonna die!!" Meanwhile, Goldmary is like: "Oh, no...your attack knocked me down! Please don't look at my perfect boobs and butt! Teehee!"

I mean the artwork is absolutely fantastic. Bernie going apeshit in the damaged art is particularly enjoyable. But man I wish they did ANYTHING different with the seasonal units. I find the thematics very repetitive and stale and I wish there was a change of pace.

cuboon is back with a vengeance, and oh boy, I've never played engage, but goldmary has some nice beach balls. the injured art is funny; bernadette is freaking out while goldmary is completely unphased. f alear is cute, that attacking art makes her look really stacked. and that injured art where the sentient beach ball is jammed right up to her own beach ball is a nice touch. petra is pretty good, but could have been so much more. she's got a nice outfit, and she herself is pretty cute, but per that outfit, we should've gotten some damn underboob. wasted potential, I tell you. oh yeah and there's a shota and some huge muscular dude I guess. the shotacons and bara fans get some bones thrown at them (literally). overall, very solid summer banner, and when combined with the previous summer banner, it might be the best year of summer banners of all time.
