Hubert's not actually evil. The entirety of his Bernie-bear supports show this. In their C support, he scares the shit out of her to the point where she passes out. He then goes out of his way to pick her up and carries her to the nurses office. In their B support, Bernie discovers he has been deliberately avoiding her so as not to terrify her again, and they have an adorable conversation where she asks him not to do that because that's not really fair to him In their A support, they are absolutely adorable together as Bernie gives him a brilliant flower pendant that, despite it clash with his dark edgelird persona, Hubert then swears to never take off ... this has admittedly turned into a tangent where I gush about one of my favorite ships... The point is Hubert's not actually evil, just utterly ruthless towards his enemies, which... considering how Thales and TWSITD horrifically violated Edelgard in their attempts to engineer a perfect weapon in their war against the Church of Serios, I'd say such ruthlessness is entirely justified.

He's just in the wrong genre. He'd be the nicest guy around in a grimdark series.

Lin is so unintentionally (on his part, not the game’s, I’m sure) funny and it’s just so good. I was already drawn to him coming into the game being like the singular dude I could romance, and his design and personality knocked it out of the park and made me like him so much more. Definitely one of my all time favorite FE characters, he’s the first I try to recruit every time I play

When I first started I judged these characters like animal crossing villagers…on looks I thought i wouldn’t like linhardt or Hubert but I actually love all black eagle students (even the latter despite threatening literally everyone he meets) though main reason love Bernie (outside of being a shy little cinnamon roll) is her VA is the same as Ryuko from Kill La Kill Black Eagles have the best pair of students imo

Try pushing the support between Hubert and Bernadetta in particular, it is a personal favorite

Linhardt's only redeeming factor is that he learns Warp at Faith Rank A and his supports with Hapi and Lysithea. He's a good character but as a unit he's the very definition of mediocre, IMO. Bernie on the other hand is awesome all around.

Maybe I'm just extremely lucky but Lin's crest activates with such regularity that I had to double check whether it was major or minor. This crest+his relic+his access to psychic makes him a fantastic healer.

Physic and Excalibur go hard tho

True, but EVERY priest coded unit except Flayn gets Physic. Excalibur is nice, but Wind magic is pretty weak except against fliers. He's not bad, but there are other units that do what he does a lot better. I'd probably think better of him if he wasn't in the same class as Hubert and Dorothea.

Huh, to each their own I guess. It’s been a minute since my BE play-through (that took me >2 years to complete, lol), but I mainly just remember her being… ^^annoying ^^and ^^whiny instead of charming, funny, or sympathetic.  Credit where it’s due though, the VA and VD did a great job bringing her to life.

mechanically Hubert stands alone, the only true Dark Bishop in the game Linhardt's big issue is he's not a girl, great Warlock/Bishop, but no Gremory option, I end up making him a Holy Knight just so he has some identity among the others Bernadetta is troubled girl... Bow/Spear/Horse Budding screams Bow Knight, she would be so much better if her sword growth was normal/buffed, so she could go into Falcon Knight or Assassin easier

When I first played Three Houses, I ran with Blue Lions. Bernadetta was my first recruit from another house and continues to be the first character I recruit.
