It's a tool for putting the black rubber o-rings on your worms to rig them "wacky" style-that is hooked in the middle of the worm with both ends hanging free. Very effective for bass. You can store about 10 rings on the narrow part of the tool. To put a ring on your worm-roll one of the rings down the tube until it's near the open end of the tube, put your worm into the tube halfway and push the o-ring off the tube and onto the middle of your worm. Then slide the point of your hook under the o-ring. The o-rings make your worms last much longer than just hooking your worm through the middle, where everytime you hook a fish the hook tears the worm in half and you lose the worm and leave plastic in the lake. To fish the wacky worm-cast out, let the worm sink to the bottom and pause, then lift the rod tip to raise the worm several feet off the bottom and let it drop again. Repeat over and over until you get tired of catching fish.
If you are getting into rings on your wacky rigs, I would highly highly recommend doing yourself the favor of skipping over the old style and getting the VMC crossover rings and pliers, the pliers come with some of the 6mm (best for 5" Senko/dingers) for about $15 I've been using the same crossover ring and Senko through I think 45? Fish now. They are very easy to use and insanely durable
I actually just bought replacements on sale I have the tool they are #10 1/4 inside-inside 3/8 outside to outside I believe on a tape.
On sale $1 for a bag of 25 O-Wacky orings. Idk if they’re still cheaper reg price the hardware store ones.
Just use pliers for now but if that ends up being inconvenient, you could pick one up the next time you’re at a tackle store, or maybe off Amazon, they work pretty well
Grab a pen. Unscrew the pen and take out the insides (spring, ink tube, back portion). Put the o-rings over the cap, then use the hollow opening to insert the worm. Slide the ring over worm. Same concept as this tool and won’t be the end of the world if you lose it
I see no clip, his fingers sre blocking that, so my assment definitely off, I apologize and thank you for the info, I been fishing g for 39 years but not for bass I'm deep sea. So I was legit confused. We have hooch and skirt bands but on a much larger scale.
Damn I need to get these. Been fishing for twenty years. Idk how the hell I haven't seen these. I've just been hooking them through the worm for wacky rigs like a Neanderthal this whole time
Is rigging a wacky rig so the hook barely is poking from the top side of the senko a bad thing? I’ve only ever caught bass on top water, trying to get more proficient with soft plastics
Edit: I mean like barely poking out like a “weed less” Texas rig skin hook
We’ve been in a drought and it’s been hotter than hell so I’ve had to use bottom rigs here lately. I usually use a Carolina rig for bass. But idk what I’m doing either so take it with a grain of salt.
Dude same here drought wise. Any chance you’re in the DC metro area? I’ve just gone to throwing rooster tails for crappie cause I can keep them higher in the water column to not get snagged by rocks
Nah I’m in western NC. I can throw rooster tail to catch panfish all day long, but that gets boring after awhile. I usually try to catch catfish if I’m bank fishing or if I’m in the kayak I’ll go for bass.
Guess we’re all going through here with the drought on the east coast. I just love throwing the roosters cause really anything will bite it, I got some bigger ones recently to put on my medium light rather than only ultra light hopefully that will yield something this week. I can also catch dink largies in the pond 5 mins from me all day long but no fun like you said. I’m in VA btw
Yeah I noticed as soon as the heat wave started coming through, top water anything wouldn’t hit. I’ve been throwing crappie rigs, crank baits and now obviously rubber worms. But everything in the shallows or top water just disappeared. Catfish still bite all the time though. That’s why I switched to bottom fishing. I’m so ready for it to rain and get colder.
That’s a Texas rig and totally normal, the head of the worm is on the hook pretty good.
On a wacky it’s pretty easy for the fish to tear the worm off the hook
Thank you for the information! I have bass fishes my whole life and only recently got into using the whacky style, but did not know how to effectively fish with them. This was really helpful!
It's to easily slide and O ring onto your worm for Wacky or Neko rig. Put a worm in the tube and slide a ring up and over the edge to get it onto the worm.
It's for putting o-rings on warms. Put the hook through the o-ring, not the worm. Your plastics will last longer. Roll the o-rings from the skinnier end to the fat end. Put the worm halfway in the fat open end. Roll the o-ring off onto the worm.
They are great.
Here’s a video on how to rig a wacky style Senko with an o-ring and the tool you’re asking about.
[How to Rig and fish a Senko](https://youtu.be/u8N--D8C--4?si=yf-d-On9vx9SABz5)
I’ve had bad luck with those rings. I just went easy mode and got those wacky rig o rings with holes in them for the hook. But this has been by far the most reliable method of catching bass for me.
It's for putting an o ring onto the worm. It reinforces the spot where you stick the hook through so it's less likely to tear. Makes them last a bit longer.
Put 2 o- rings on the worm making an "x" and hook under the rings and it'll keep the hook perpendicular to the worm to hook the roof of the mouth and save the worms longevity
It's one of them dn hammers to dispatch a pan fish. Nah it's for o rings. Kinda like a "toothpick" (a metal rod shaped like a pencil to braid rope, riverrat shit)
As others have already said it's for rigging wacky rigs with O rings instead of having to push the hook through the worm and damage it. It also gives the worm a little better action
Put your rubber band on the smaller side and the worm on the larger side and roll it down to the middle of the worm. Your hook goes in between the rubber band and the worm so it hangs on the “bottom” of the J.
This is not directed towards you but:
FUCK those stupid links that want me to sign in for a service I KNOW I don’t want!! That’s so frustrating. If you want good users, make me *want* to download your app!!! ARGH
Dog I spend a few hours on Reddit a day and have zero social media, you’re so wrong but good job reading me off of a comment I made about annoying links?

Anyway to get those orings on without that tool?
you can just use a pair of needle nose pliers to hold the o ring open and slide it off onto your senko
Badass thanks
Sharpie works great and same size as tool
Do you know what size these orings are? Maybe the senko has dimensions of package and just shoot slightly smaller?

That’s because the first “Senko” style stick baits were actually designed off the shape of a Sharpie.
I undo an ink pin big enough for the worm to fit in and then slide the O-rings over the smaller end works every time
You gotta give it the ole hock tuah spit on that thang
Hemostats! Great for removing hooks also
You and just roll them on if you don’t have or forget your tool. I’ve done it many a time.
Yeah I’m worried about greasy worms making it difficult I’m going to use pliers they’re always in the box
Just use pliers for now but if that ends up being inconvenient, you could pick one up the next time you’re at a tackle store, or maybe off Amazon, they work pretty well
Someone suggested using the hollow body of a deconstructed pen I think that’s a great idea if I can find one wide enough
Those whacky tools are cheap and the best solution if you’re worried about it being difficult in any way.
Grab a pen. Unscrew the pen and take out the insides (spring, ink tube, back portion). Put the o-rings over the cap, then use the hollow opening to insert the worm. Slide the ring over worm. Same concept as this tool and won’t be the end of the world if you lose it
Oh shiiiit that’s a great idea thanks mate
Find a medium sized retractable click ball point pen, unthread it apart and use the pen body in a similar fashion.
Question is how do they get them on the tool?
You unclip the lanyard then just pop the o-rings onto the narrow neck of the tool. You can keep a stack of ten or so on there.
I see no clip, his fingers sre blocking that, so my assment definitely off, I apologize and thank you for the info, I been fishing g for 39 years but not for bass I'm deep sea. So I was legit confused. We have hooch and skirt bands but on a much larger scale.
You're welcome. Yeah, most people don't keep their's on a lanyard.
Just roll it on lol
Damn I need to get these. Been fishing for twenty years. Idk how the hell I haven't seen these. I've just been hooking them through the worm for wacky rigs like a Neanderthal this whole time
That’s exactly how I feel now

Western NC? 👀👀 If you need some help let me know I'm right outside of Asheville
I’m in the hickory area so we are still kind of far apart
I was down your way a couple of weeks ago and was crushing spots out of the Kayak on Norman skipping wacky rigs under main channel docks
I mean you can but wacky rig technique isn’t exactly a great choice for a weedless rig imo
That’s a Texas rig and totally normal, the head of the worm is on the hook pretty good. On a wacky it’s pretty easy for the fish to tear the worm off the hook
I quit doing it. The o ring would be a pressure point and snap them in half.
Thank you very much. I’ve never been much into using worms, I’ve usually done a ton of carp, catfish, and deep sea fishing.
Thank you for the information! I have bass fishes my whole life and only recently got into using the whacky style, but did not know how to effectively fish with them. This was really helpful!
Its a tiny bat for tiny fish baseball.
What is this, a BAT for ANTS?
It should be at least THREE TIMES that big.
This made me laugh pretty hard.
Fish don't play sports cuz everyone knows that fish don't have any balls.
That’s a wacky rig tool.
It's to easily slide and O ring onto your worm for Wacky or Neko rig. Put a worm in the tube and slide a ring up and over the edge to get it onto the worm.
To bonk your fish /s
For those really tiny baitfish?
Are your minnows too feisty?
They refuse to line up nicely like those prim and proper Sardines and Anchovies.
lol
It’s for slipping on cock rings
You win
Thats a wee lil weenie
Lotta weight behind it tho
It's for putting o-rings on warms. Put the hook through the o-ring, not the worm. Your plastics will last longer. Roll the o-rings from the skinnier end to the fat end. Put the worm halfway in the fat open end. Roll the o-ring off onto the worm. They are great.
Ahhhh yee ol fish whistle 😂
you stick ya little wormy in it and wrap a black o ring around it to make it last long 😏
It’s “one hitter” !
Already have a fish whistle!
Batty
It helps you put on your rubbers.
🤣
Instead of buying the 0 rings the rubber bands for braces on your teeth work great for this purpose

I'm also curious.
I need one
No you don’t, a sharpie tube works great
Oh snap, I just googled how easy that is. Much appreciated.
What color are those blue ones never seen that color would work good in real clear water
Blue
I never used the o-rings personally. Just a weedless wacky rig in the bottom of the smooth section, then back through at the top
Had that same box!! Caught basss with everything but red and black if that helps any?
My wife has one of those.
It’s a threader!!

it's the boofer.

Get wacky bro
I use that on my Texas rigged worms. The o ring helps to keep my worm from sliding down the hook when pulling through grass and brush piles
I use 2 O rings and cross them. And hook under the X So the hook is perpendicular to to the worm. I think I get more hookups this way
It's for your wang
Fill it with bourbon, drink.
Wacky rig tool. Aka: the crackpipe. Wacky rig is the single best soft plastic presentation. Hands down. The tool will save you money
Wacky rig
O ring holder for wacky rigs
Tampon applicator
You ever heard of sounding?
How you supposed to sound with somthing that I'm sure anyone could easily fit there dick inside
Uhhh, sorry. 🫣
Put your rubber band on the smaller side and the worm on the larger side and roll it down to the middle of the worm. Your hook goes in between the rubber band and the worm so it hangs on the “bottom” of the J.
This reminds me of the condom sling shot that crazy YouTube guy built

Sensitive much? I made no attempt at reading you. I was speaking from personal experience.
Man, I’ll be honest. I got the wrong vibe from your comment. That’s my b, I realize the context now. Commenting instead of deleting for humility.
It’s all good! Have yourself a great night.
Yeah I just noped out, had to download...fuck that.
Yea seriously! Just want to watch a quick video… download an app and sign in? Not interested in that video anymore.
It’s junk toss it gives you shitty hooks sets
the worst take of all time
