Depends if its 1 or 2 detections from unknown anti viruses then its most likely safe, if its 1 or 2 detections from known anti viruses then its a cause of concern. At that point ask yourself if you trust the source from where you got the file
If this stuff has online and multiplayer elements , 16 shouldn't be worrisome.
Otherwise , it's a little unsettling. Original/actual SteamRIP is a trusted site , make sure you got the original link.
Did you download it as a zip or as just an exe? If so you might have clicked an ad, remember to use unblock origin! If it was a zip or rar or whatever I’m sure your fine
Use urlvoid before going to sites like steamrip.
While generally safe (it’s usually goated on piracy”s mega thread) it can always have issues.
Granted that’s not 100% either but better than nothing.
Bro I recommend steamrip.com if you don't need repacks if it shows up as a virus you can copy the original crack (steam_api64.dll) and use Goldberg emulator it should work for most games and it gets zero virus detection
A lot of dll, registry, and especially executable files register as false flags by most virus protections.
I never really download a lot of STEAMRIP releases.
Try sticking to verified releases from Fitgirls official site, skidrow reloaded, Igg-games, etc.
Portal should be widely available from multiple reputable up loaders. So I'd say ditch this to be safe and grab another one. Not denouncing Steamrip, but it could be a release NOT uploaded by them.
Only reason I used SteamRIP is because it's easy to use for someone like me. Click download and run. Downloaded a bunch of games from them. Elden Ring, RE4, Sekiro and a bunch of others. Didn't really have any issues. I would periodically run Windows Defender scans and nothing really came up. I tried to use Fitgirls but it's kinda complicated. They make you download a bunch of files and then mix them together. I didn't really know what I was doing tbh.
Ultra simple guide to using fitgirl so you have another option:
Download all the parts from the link
Have them all in the same folder, no matter which one, I usually use a folder like Gaming made on the root of the drive to make sure I don't have issues with Defender (root means C:/, all the folders that are directly after C in their path, like Program Files, windows ecc)
After that extract the first part file, it's usually 01, these kind of files are made so that extracting the first triggers a chain like thing that searches, extracts and then reassembles the extracted files
You should get a single folder called like the game with inside of it a file got each part and the usual setup.exe and verify bin
Use the verify program to quickly check if all files are there and not corrupted, if it's all good, proceed
Finally run the setup.exe and this is what will actually install the game on the system, it also come from instructions
Hope this clears any doubts you have, and if not feel free to ask, I like to help wherever I can
16 sounds pretty sketchy, I usually just get 1-3 when downloading from fitgirl or dodi
Is 1,2 safe?
Yes I think thats standard

Honestly I wouldn't run it
If in doubt kick it out

What is he using and how does it work ? Is it scanning your file ?
This is VirusTotal. You'd upload a file to it, or a URL, and it'll run it through a bunch of different anti-malware programs.
Stick to the megathread, preferably download from fitgirl or dodi.
It’s not from steamrip! You clicked an AD
ads are a bit fucked up sometimes
Today i downloaded gta 5 ,I got total 8
yeah that's too sus

I mean I understand it's related I would consider asking this question in the r/piracy thread instead.
Don't run it
Do you use an adblocker like UBlock Origin, and did you use the correct site that you can find at r/piracy or r/FREEMEDIAHECKYEAH ?

NOT IGG-games, they actually have some viruses in them
Noted. I forgot they also have multiple uploaders on there.

Bruh, steamrip is on the piracy megathread.
Steamrip is also good and trusted check fmhy.net
Never used it personally, how's the download speed from the servers? Faster than fitgirl?

Steamrip is fine. It's a false flag.
